Father: Filip
Filip is a master of water and the founder of the Magic School of Water. He is **first-generation**, meaning he was a young child during humanity’s enslavement under the advanced goblin society. Though he never participated in an expedition, he grew up in the icy caves, where he lost several fingers to ice burns during childhood. Despite this, he has always had a deep love for ice sculptures and ice-related magic.
Mother: Esa
Esa is also a master of water and was Filip’s first student before later becoming his wife. She is **second-generation**, born shortly after humanity’s liberation from goblin rule. Her family was originally connected to one of the founding families of the Hanging Village, but they split off when an agreement was made with the new goblin king. Before their freedom, her ancestors served as high-tier slaves within the goblin dynasty.
Children of the Vettä Family (Third-Generation):
Henri
Henri, the eldest son of the Vettä family, was raised to be a promising mage, expected to follow in his parents’ footsteps. However, during his third magic festival, he broke his magic. Though this incident doubled his mana capacity and regeneration over time, Filip deemed him unfit to continue magic research. Still bitter about the event, Henri refuses to attend the annual magic festival.
Aarne
Aarne, the eldest daughter, was often neglected due to Filip’s personal biases. She constantly competed with Henri for attention, but after Henri’s incident, she became hesitant when trying new magic. This greatly slowed her development, to the point that Kuu has already surpassed her spell capacity, despite forging his own path in magic away from the family's traditional teachings.

Kuu
The third child, Kuu, has been considered a prodigy since his first magic festival. After Henri’s fall from grace, Filip shifted his focus to Kuu, who flourished under the increased scrutiny. He pushed himself into Filip’s advanced lessons and, by the age of 15, developed his own theory of magic, breaking away from Filip’s traditional "Flow of Magic" theory. Instead, Kuu based his findings on the principles of the Witch’s Flight magic.
For the past two years, he has attempted to join an expedition but has not yet succeeded. However, undeterred, he plans to try again this year.
Helka and Hugo
The fortunate twins of the Vettä family, Helka and Hugo, are best friends and seem mostly uninterested in the study of magic, much to their parents’ disappointment. They are heavily influenced by Henri and his experiences. However, their status as twins has piqued Kuu’s curiosity regarding the theories of magic.
Because of this, even though the twins lack enthusiasm for the magic festival, Kuu insists they attend each year, hoping to study the individual growth of mages through them.
Irma
The sixth child, Irma, is considered the black sheep of the family. She shares Kuu’s enthusiasm for magic and started training at a younger age than what was deemed safe. Initially, her initiative earned her the title of "Youngest Master" when she cast a concentrated Spark Bolt spell before even attending the magic festival.
However, her ambition exceeded her ability. As Henri and Kuu had predicted, Irma eventually cracked her magic. Though the damage was less severe than Henri’s, half of her magical paths became chaotic, much like his. Despite this, Irma insists on continuing her training, but both the village council and her family fear that she is simply lucky she hasn’t broken her magic completely yet.
Essi
The youngest son of the Vettä family, Essi is primarily cared for by Aarne, as their parents have become more preoccupied with research and the magic school. Feeling a deep sense of kinship with her youngest sibling, Aarne took it upon herself to train Essi for his first magic festival.
His talent rivals Kuu’s, and with the head start provided by Aarne—along with indirect support from Kuu—Essi has a brighter future in magic than most of his older siblings.
