Chapter 28: First real day of school

Chapter 28: First real day of school

Last night was a great opportunity for Rina to start a new school year in style.

Today is the 2nd of September, the first day being only an integration day, the real start of the school year awaits our young second-year student on this beautiful sunny morning.

Beyond the Golden Pavilion, a voice can be heard.

“Rina!”

No response.

“Rina! Get up!”

“…”

“Your dad is going to eat the breakfast Remy-san made for you!”

All of a sudden, the princess, although deeply asleep, gets up with eagerness and jumps out of her bed like a wild beast charging at its prey.

“THERE IS NO WAY !!!”

She crosses the Pavilion at full speed, dodging furniture and other trinkets that get in her way, and reaches the kitchen of the bungalow where her parents are.

*Skidding noise*

“Where is the culprit!?”

She exclaims, looking for her father with her eyes.

The newspaper of Naoki comes to hide his face and on the same occasion the proof of his guilt.

“You look away from what I see…”

Naoki answers half-heartedly.

“Uh, no, I really don’t.”

“I see you chewing something.”

She grabs her father’s collar and starts shaking him frantically.

The tale has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.

“Spill the beans you criminal, I know what you did!”

Disoriented and about to regurgitate what he is eating, Naoki points to the other end of the table.

“Huh, what’s over there…”

At the same time, Elsa puts down a tempting plate of pancakes accompanied by red fruits and maple syrup.

“This is…”

“Your portion, yes. Now release your father and come sit down, if you keep shaking him like this he may not be able to get up again.”

Relieved of his daughter’s embrace, Naoki moaned a few words.

“Two…two mornings in a row that I’ve been called a breakfast thief…”

“Hey, yesterday you really had stolen a cookie from me.”

“This… is true.”

Naoki writes his last words with the remaining syrup on his plate before passing out.

Rina killed me…

“Remy-san made us an American-style breakfast this morning.”

Rina sits down and sticks her fork into the chef’s fluffy pancake.

She devours everything while savoring her plate to the fullest.

“By the way, Mummy, isn’t Sana here?”

“You didn’t notice she was gone last night?”

“What do you mean?”

*Sigh*

“I hope she doesn’t resent her older sister for having her head in the clouds. Last night at the end of dinner, Sana said she wanted to go back to her dorm. She didn’t even come to enjoy the bath with us.”

“Now that you mention it… But I hardly remember anything from a certain point in the evening.”

“Ara, let’s just say that shortly after Sophie-chan’s heatstroke, you had it too and I had to take you to the bedroom to rest.”

Rina closes her eyes and rubs her chin.

“Um…”

She’s thinking hard.

“Uuuuum… Now that you mention it, I don’t remember saying goodbye to Aya and Sophie, or their parents.”

“You fell asleep directly once in bed.”

“It’s…kind of embarrassing.”

“Since you fell asleep at the Pavilion, we decided to spend the night here rather than wake you up.”

“At least I won’t have to take the shuttle this morning.”

“Don’t forget that starting tonight, you go back to the school dorms.”

“Yes, I’ll have to go discover my room after school.”

“I hope you packed all the stuff you needed.”

“Uh… We’ll say the project is underway.”

“Well, I urge you to finish this project because if you don’t, you’ll run out of panties young lady.”

Her face darkened by this frightening information, Rina shows signs of panic.

“It’s Friday, you’re lucky tomorrow is the weekend, so take advantage of it and stop by the house to pick up some stuff.”

“Yes…”

Once the breakfast is over, Rina goes to get her bag in the room.

“I’m going Mummy, do I come back here tonight or do I go straight home?”

“Your father and I still have some business to attend to here during the day, but we’ll be back in the early evening. You can get home before us.”

“Okay, got it.”

“If you see Sana, tell her she’s coming home too for once. That little girl is too serious, I feel like I never see her.”

“Is there a reward in it if I grant your request?”

“If you can convince your sister to return, I’ll let you extort your father, I’m sure he’ll be generous.”

Naoki’s frightened look goes toward Rina. She gives him her most beautiful mischievous smile possible.

“I can’t wait to see what you’re going to cook up for me, P-A-P-A…”
