Hallo von Deutchland!
The flight went well, the dog didn't panic when the plane went up and down, and four days later I think my ears have finally recovered. We're still in a flat mostly without furniture, and will be until mid-september, but we have a bed and a kitchen table, and that's good enough for me!
I have though, in reality, spent the entire last month tidying. I had to take what was probably three generations worth of stuff, a four bedroom former-hoarder-house, and condense it down to 27 small moving boxes. And I did it, but hoooly shit it was a task. Three of the boxes were just dedicated to bloody photographs! Add on top the fact I've been having a miscarriage for the past two weeks, the stress of not knowing if they'd let us on the plane, and all the stuff you have to get in order in order to rent out a house (so many certificates, getting rid of the unsafe gas hob, legal legal legal stuff), and it's been... A month. I'm lucky one of the people I'm renting to has a property lawyer for a mother, and she's willing to work for free, but without that, good lord.
What a lot it's been, and it's not over yet.
We still have to get an appointment with the einwohnermeldeamt, brackets, the immigration people, close brackets, and I have to sort out some legal stuff back in the UK. We need to work out electricity and everything providers, health insurance, get new sim cards for the phones, and then on the 3rd of September all of our stuff turns up, but it's getting better. I have time to sit, now, which I did not have before the move, I was working up until the last minute.

I have a kitchen table now, and a little terrace outside I can sit on too with fruit plants and a veranda, so I'm gonna get back into this, I promise.
Now if only I could find a shop which sells rye flour, I want to bake some German bread!

Edit: I wrote this at the end of July, and it's taken me until now to actually get my head in the right place to even look at this again, never-mind post it. We have sorted most of the bills, residency stuff, and things with my cousins, but doing the 12 hour days of packing, selling, and throwing stuff out for two solid months with no days off absolutely wrecked my brain, and it's taking me a long time to get through it. I looked it up in my phone, and I started listing stuff on eBay in March, and the last thing I posted out was sent the day before our flight. I absolutely fried my brain.
Anyway, as of now it's the 13th and this is literally the first day since then where I've been able to bring myself to open my laptop and face the two or three internet things I've been putting off. I've even managed to convince it to connect to the internet while at the kitchen table, which is a first! (The internet is borrowed from the people upstairs and is extremely spotty) (edit: it took me twenty minutes after writing this to get it to reconnect, and eventually I gave up and used my very limited mobile wifi for it)
I'm still here, I just need a bit of time to get my head back in the game! I will be doing the Nano/Writathon in November, if nothing else.
Also holy shit it's 34*c here today! Bring on the thunder!
