A loud bang, a gasping breath, and the clang of a knife falling to the floor.  The aroma of robust and metal drifted through the air. The only sound was the screams of pain that shrilled through the air.  

"No, no, no, NO!" He bellowed.

I slowly opened my eyes, fearful of what I might see. Daddy bent down on the floor, blood pooling out of the wound in his chest. The knife lay beside him, still shining with delight. A police officer holding a gun stood a few feet away, his hand shaking with adrenaline.
