Chapter 9 - Time flies by...

"There are many types of Dragonkin. The Angel Dragonkin specializes in pure mana, and because of this affinity, they can easily master healing magic as well as the 4 pure elements. The Elemental Dragonkin specializes in offensive magic, and because of that, they can easily master any magic excluding healing magic.

However, the more magic they learn, the harder it is for them to learn more magic, it has something to do with their core. The other Dragonkin are self-explanatory however, but the few Dragonkin that stands out are the ancient Dragonkin and the Silver Dragonkin. The Ancient Dragonkin are those that can only wield one element, but their mastery over that makes even the greatest mages bow down to them to ask them to teach them. Notable thing about them is that they "Can recover magic when gathering that same element". Though that monster could recover its body, it was still similar, meaning, it's class might've been "Monk", not only that, but it also mastered lightning magic, a compound element that specializes in pure offense. Being a hand-to-hand combatant makes you vulnerable to attacks, that's why for a Monk, they'd need to master healing magic as well.

Healing magic is a null-type of magic, meaning that it doesn't fall into any categories of elements. Because of this, an Ancient Dragonkin can not only master their favored element, but also null-type magic. And then my race, Silver Dragonkin. There's not much known because me and Shin are the only one known to wield the silver color. Even then, I'm the first Silver Dragonkin, Shin was the first Silver Dragon. Now, the job and its classes...

The common jobs, Swordsman, Mages, Tanks, Healers, Rangers, Assassins and finally, Classless. They are self-explanatory, however, they can all fuse with one another, giving birth to new classes. A Swordsman fused with mages' magic are known as a Magic Swordsman, a Swordsman who takes the aggro and deals high amount of damage are known as Berserkers, Mages who can provide buffs and heal are known as Supporters, Mages who take the role of Tanks are known as Aegis, Tanks who can heal are known as Paladins, Healers who can fight in the frontlines are known as Monks, Rangers who can use magic are known as Magic Marksman, Rangers that can hide themselves like Assassins are known as Shadow Assassins, Assassins who can use magic are known as Mage Slayers, and finally... Classless that can use everything are known as Jokers.

It was known that Shin, seeing as he wasn't a King, could still use all sorts of magic from different classes, he was classified as the first and only Jester. If he were a King however, that'd be a different story. Kings are the same as Jesters, but the difference between them is the fact that Kings have a more mysterious power in them, being able to do the impossible... Yet it was never known how they gained that power, other than being royalty." As Kuro finished speaking, he looked to Rai.

"Was that explanation good?"

Rai shrugs his shoulders, "For a summary, that's very good."

Both of them turned to look outside and see the other 4 training with each other.

"To think it's been 6 years since huh?"

"Yeah, and to think that I thought you kids were 'weak'... I've really gotten rusty at assessing others haven't I?"

----------------------------------------

6 years earlier, days after Kuro fully recovered his body. Rai was curious about their situation, yet when he inspected Kuro, his situation was abnormal, mainly it was his stats. That's why, on the day Kuro fully recovers, they were to spar.

"How about we make a bet?"

"What kind of bet?" Kuro asked as he was stretching his body.

'What a weird tactic.' "For the bet, when I win, you'll answer all of my questions honestly. If you win...?"

"I'll think about it after."

"Alright then, remember the rules?"

"Yep, you'll time me for 10 minutes, and then within that time span, I need to hit you. Grazes are counted."

"Good... Ready?"

Kuro grabs his training sword as he postured himself.

"Yeah."

"3... 2..." Rai then pulls out his stopwatch, "1... Go!"

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
8 minutes have passed... Yet Kuro never landed a graze on him.
'What the fuck is his speed?! He's faster than the monster!' Kuro wipes his sweat with the broken training sword in hand. He became enraged as he notices Rai's finger had held up the number 2.
'I'LL HIT HIM.'
Suddenly, his now-short silver hair grew longer, and his pupils became slits. His nails grew longer, and magic around him started to gather.
'So this is a Silver's power... I can see why the Royalty's are scared. If a power like this were to go out of control... The prophecy will really happen. But...'
Immediately, Kuro struck Rai, but was perfectly evaded. The ground on which Rai stood on was destroyed by Kuro, though his power was not the same as before, leaving a fist mark in the midst of multiple cracks.
As Kuro stared at Rai, behind him, mana flew out and formed the shape of knives which numbered at 9. Then, Kuro charged at him along with his conjured mana knives. They moved with Kuro's guidance using a mana string, whenever they got close to Rai, it would release flames in hopes of grazing him, yet none even came close as to even make him feel its heat. Enraged even further, Kuro hooked some of the conjured knives.
He danced along with the knives, trying to land a graze on Rai's body using the small amount of Capoeira that he knows from his games, yet even then, he still couldn't land a hit. Faster and faster, his dance became more ridiculous as the land slowly filled with blade marks.
However, even with all of that, he couldn't land anything, other than wind pressure against Rai.
"10 minutes are up!" Immediately as Rai said that, Kuro collapsed on the floor with red limbs, his body had become very sore.
"Uhhh...... Ow." Kuro groans in pain while his face is planted on the scarred ground, "So uhh... How bad did I do?"
"Oh ho... Being pessimistic ey? Well, you lost. That's simply it. Now... For my end of the bargain..."
"Alright... Bring it in, what do you want to know? -?!" Kuro was surprised that Rai made him sit normally, but his eyes were serious.
"You... You're a Reincarnator, right?"
"... Yeah."
As Kuro said those words, Rai jumped in joy, "What's life in there?!" his eyes were brimming with curiosity.
"... My life there was shitty."
"... What?"
"I... I can't remember much, I don't know why, but all I remember was how angry I am at that world."
"... I... I'm sorry for making you remember."
"Nah, don't be. I'm here now anyways, and it doesn't matter what my past is. All I desire is to use this knowledge of mine to get an edge."
----------------------------------------
"And who knew you'd train us regardless."
"Well, I wanted to train you to see what kind of shit you'll do, but I can't give preferential treatment now can I?"
Kuro drank the water from his clay gourd that sat beside him. That gourd's size the same as his tibia's length.
"You really drink a lot of water don't you?"
"It happens when I speak too much. My mouth dries up way too fast." As he says that, he proceeded to drink again.
"Haa... Still, I can't imagine how scary your world is... Weapons wherein the classless can kill dragons... It's hard to imagine that, but I'd rather not let it exist here. It's scary to imagine the oppressed killing everyone."
"Yup, that's why I'd rather let them keep being oppressed so that peace will be kept. It's a dark ideology, but it's what made my world be kept in order."
As Kuro drank more water, they heard the others collapse.
""""Urrggghhhh...""""
"That's what you guys get if you overexert yourselves! Kekeke" Kuro kept laughing as he drank.
"Oh come on Kuro! How come you don't get tired?" Kenny complains as he pants on the ground.
"That's because my mana capacity is a lot more than you guys combined." As Kuro laughed while drinking, Rai cut his laugh.
"It's surprising though, to think your world prepares itself in case you do get called to another world."
"Oh please, it's just a fleeting dream. If reincarnation does apply to everyone, then I would've met others like me by now."
"True... But it feels like you kids are ready."
"Ready for what?"
"School of course."
Kuro's eyes widened with a pause, and he then jumped in joy.
"Finally! Goodbye to your brutal training sessions, Geez luiz!"
"Oh come on, it wasn't that brutal."
"Really now? You forced me to wear these weights on my limbs, same for my friends there--"
"What's wrong with that? I also wear them." Rai then shows his braces on his 4 limbs.
"Don't interrupt me. What you did to me, and only me was torture. You dropped me on the tip of the mountain, without any clues on which direction I had to go down. Not only that, but you JUST HAD TO TIE ME UP WHILE SMELLING LIKE DAMN FOOD."
"Hey, I thought you guys lived on a mountainous region."
"Yeah, BUT WE DON'T LIVE ABOVE THE DAMN CLOUDS RAI. I almost died so many damn times getting chased by wide-mouthed bears and centi-zards [1]!"
"Oh come on, you knew I wouldn't let you die."
"Yeah, BUT I HAD TO KEEP HEARING YOUR DAMN LAUGHTER EVERYTIME I TRIP UP AND GET INJURED."
As Rai kept laughing at their argument as Kuro kept drinking and nagging, the 4 were slowly recovering.
"They always fight huh..." Bea says as she stretches her body up.
"Well, who knows... Their secrets reach the bottom of the abyss and their true identities can only be known to one another." Gran says as he smoothly and perfectly stands up with his wind magic.
"Well, at least they don't try to kill each other." Kenny says as he winds his arms.
"What do you mean they don't? They still do, remember that huge blast last week?" Levy says as she helps Bea stand up.
"""Ah, right...""" The 3 reminisce the huge explosion that one of the two caused when they were sparring. That explosion caused Kenny to be fatigued the whole week due to trying to restore it as training. As they reminisced, they all laughed it off.
"Ah, I guess they're remembering the explosion you caused, Kuro."
"Was it really that strong though?"
"Well, in my standards, it was alright. But don't use that in public."
"Yeah yeah, I'm as old as you anyways, don't lecture me about that."
"Haa... This kid... Anyways, tell them to prepare their luggage. We're leaving the day after tomorrow." As Rai left the room, Kuro then looked at his gourd.
"Yeah... I guess I did become strong. 'Status'."
"Yeah... Maybe a bit too much for my age... Welp, my goal WAS to get as strong as possible after all." Kuro looked outside to see his group of friends, one of the last remaining Dragonkin as well as one of the last inhabitants of the Guardian tribe, he reminisced his beloved village.
'As expected, even here, I have a hard time coping up with lost things...' Kuro then slowly stood up with his gourd bottle strapped to his waist, nearly empty, 'Guess I should let Rai enchant this with bottomless water.'
He then turns to his laughing friends, "Guys! Let's get ready. We're leaving for the city."
""""Nn!""""
[1] - Centi-zards. These are a lesser-type of dragon, equivalent to wyrms which are lesser than wyverns, possess a high number of limbs, making it look as if it were a centipede. Its head possesses a frill that can change colors at will, however, this is just a distraction as it casts illusion magic, making it invisible to everyone affected, leaving the prey to become its feast. This can be countered however, as its frills change color, when there's just less than 2 seconds left before it casts it, it will always change into a red color for a singular target, but stronger effect, or in a blue color for AOE, but weaker effect. When it changes to one of the 2 colors, aim for its head, any part of the head, so that the mana gathered within its frill will burst in its face. As it wriggles around, it will show its underbelly; all of it are reverse scales. This will be the best time to attack it, however, be careful of its wriggling legs as its nails contain poison.
