The earthquake before the Big One

The earthquake before the Big One

'Your highness, it is time.'

A beautiful voice rang in its head, urging it to open its eyes.

As it opens its eyes, 7 figures can be seen. All of which is submissive to it. And even in the further back, a large figure like a hill, is bowing its head.

This sight, which it had worked so hard to achieve all its life, made it content. If it could feel any emotions at all, it would have been happy, it would have, but, alas it doesn't have a mouth, nor a brain for that matter.

It look to its side, and it sees wings covering a humanoid figure. Upon gazing at the humanoid figure, a beautiful and soft face can be seen, smiling bewitchingly.

But even with all it had accomplished, even if it has the most beautiful creature by its side. It doesn't have a single purpose now. As it had already achieved it.

So it pondered to itself...

'What now..?'

But at the same time that, that was happening. A young class of college students fell into hysteria as light began shining down beneath them. It wouldn't have been enough for them to be hysterical because of that, but as light shines down beneath them. It formed cages on each of the 35 students present. Including the professor, making 36 cages in total.

And as screams of terror echoes through the  classroom, they suddenly disappeared. Yet there was no chance for silence to fill in the loud cries of the students, as just, as instantly they vanished. A loud boom was produced in the room. Detonating, like an explosive was planted in the room.

The explosion caused injuries and deaths from professors, students, staffs alike. 21 would have minor injuries, 8 who is fatally injured, while 3 are dead, meanwhile 36 would be missing, 35 of those being the students, and 1 being the professor. This incident would be called the ghost of Apollo University. And would cause the world war 3. But the students wouldn't have known that until the next decade.

"What have you done!"

Shouted Nphixe at it looks at the mess its twin made. Contrary to Nphixe who is horrified at what its seeing, Lixe is looking at what its done like a work of art.

"Relax, nobody would know~."

Lixe plops down to nothing yet something soft cushioned it, sinking gently into it, as if it were an imaginary pillow. Nphixe removes its gaze from the mortals, and looks at its twin.

"Not that, what would you do about the tra-"

Lixe pops out of the imaginary pillow, as it excitedly cuts off the words of its twin.

"Oh, so that's what you were worried about?  Don't worry, I have it controlled just fine."

It said confidently, that it almost seemed mockingly.

"Just watch."

A few hours passed, and the 10 entities found themselves in a situation.

A human wearing a crown, sitting in a golden throne, scans the 10, lying on the ground.

With a displeased tone, it says "If I recall correctly, there should have been 36 of them."

He glares at his secretary as if it were his fault.  "Correct?"

His secretary, not knowing what had happened, answered with a shaky voice. "Y-yes, you're majesty."

The king, took the cup on the tray the maid was carrying with such a force, that some got spilled on the shirt of the maid, which shook the maid a bit but kept her composure, immediately.

The king stood up, cup still in his hand, pointed it at the ten "Then would you explain those ten?!" Shouted the king, as he threw the cup at the ten.

The secretary not knowing where to look, squeezes the scriptures in his hand, as he tries to say something back to the king. But couldn't.

The king, disappointed in his secretary. Calms himself, sighs, as he massages his temples. He plops back down to his seat, as he once again scans the 10.

Due to his anger, he never really got a glimpse of the 10. But he soon quickly saw the quality of their clothes, as well as the beautiful faces of the ladies, laying there. But a particular man caught his eye, he is handsome but that is not the reason why he has caught his eye, but rather it is the clothes that he is wearing. He is wearing none.

This displeases the king for a different reason, but he went back to ogling, the ladies laying there. He instructed the maids of his palace to take care of the ladies, and to bring them to his chamber.

The maids asked the king, about the men. And without so even a glance. The king instructed them to throw them into the dungeon for further questioning.

The king then stood up and walks back to his chamber, excitedly.

The maids also moved as he did, and carried the ladies to put in a stretcher, like a feast to be eaten. They then follow the king to his chamber, along with the ladies in hand.

The guards then carried the men like a bunch of garbage, to be thrown in the dungeon.

Meanwhile the 36 is sleeping soundly in a forest. Luckily, a young man stumbled upon them.

As soon as the young man saw all of them, he hurried back to his village to tell them about the situation.

As the villagers hear about the situation, they couldn't believe what they were hearing, it sounded like a joke to them, causing them to argue. And even if it were to be true, a problem still poses as they might be bad people, and helping them might put their lives in danger.

The noise kept getting louder and louder, as the villagers get more and more heated with each passing second. Suddenly, a young blond haired woman with freckles on hair face, shouts.

"that's enough!"

The clashing of voices, suddenly turned into a serene noise of the forest. All of them looks at the young  woman.

The young woman, gathered air in her lungs, and looks at the young man who found them.

"are you saying the truth?"

The young man locks eyes with the young woman as he nods.

"yes."

"okay. You heard the man, now 3 of you stay here. And the rest of you, go and fetch those people. You may use the two carts in the village."

Says the woman as she points and orders the people around. The people, followed her orders, as soon as she gave them.

Soon the people that was given orders by the woman, including the young man to guide them through the journey. Stumbled across the 36 people. It was a wild thing, seeing a bunch of people laying there, like they were lifeless corpse. But they know they were alive, as they can see their chests moving.

they put a bunch of them in the cart, and the rest carried them. They took 3 journeys back and forth to totally get all of them.

And there they lay, the 36 people. They were sat right up behind the fence of the village, their hands and feet tied up. Although they were going to help, they weren't going to take any chances. Atleast, not in this dangerous world.

A big burly man noticed that even when the trip to go back was rough. Not a single one of them woke up.

It was strange, too strange. But then, another strange thing happen. They moved! Not just one, not just two, not even just five. But all of them! At the same time!

Each and every one of them opened their eyes, as they yawn and stretch their arms. But realize that they couldn't because of the ropes in their arms.

Alerted, the 36 people's drowsiness was quickly washed off of them, as they exerted more force to move their body, which broke the rope binding their arms.

The people of this village has never seen such strength before, which cause them to be dumbstruck as to what they've seen. Realization dawned on them, as they figure that they might have to fight them.

A man from the 36 who is still not removing his bindings on his hands, was observing the movements of the villagers. And as soon as he saw the terrified looks and the backing of steps by the villagers. He took action.

He first removed the bindings, which is unnervingly easy to break. And stood up, he wasn't as stupid as to fall because of the bindings on his foot, like the others. He stationed himself close to the fence, he breaks the rope, but also breaks the fence because of his strength causing him to fall. He blushes due to his mistake, and because of that very mistake, all of the attention is on him now, which causes him to blush more.

But using that to his advantage, he sat up right and proceeded to put both his hands up.

"We mean no harm. We don't know where we are, we don't know what is going on. Please believe us."

The young woman who gave the orders from before, steps forward and with a hint of shakiness in her voice she replies

"if you really mean no harm... Can you please leave our village?"

"We can't do that... We don't even know where we are, or what is happening... So please! Please help us!"

Cried the guy, as he desperately pleaded with the woman, even bowing his head on the ground.

The woman exhales a huge sigh of relief, as she looks towards the villagers, then back to the man who is still bowing his head.

"I understand. But can you give us a time to decide? Until then, please settle at the edge, outside of our village, monsters nor animals won't come there."

the man looks up, dirt on his forehead, at the woman. As he expresses his gratitude to her. But something troubling caught his attention, but he decided to ignore it.

In the dim light of the castle’s grand chamber, chaos reigned. The king, clad only in his undergarments, stared with unrestrained desire at the four stunning women before him. As he approached, the women’s eyes snapped open in unison, their gazes sharp and calculating.

Blinded by his lust, the king failed to notice the danger. The momentary distraction proved fatal. With a sudden, muffled *thud*, the king's head rolled from his shoulders and his body crumpled to the floor. The sound of the crown clattering against the cold stone floor echoed through the chamber, but the women paid it no mind. Their focus was entirely on a more pressing matter.

In the dank dungeon below, a boy of indeterminate age, his clothes tattered and barely recognizable, gripped a man by the throat. The man, in a state of sheer panic, was drenched in tears and snot. Just as the boy was about to end the man’s life, a familiar and soothing voice pierced his thoughts.

"Ereli!! Can you hear me??? Please! Answer me!"

Ereli's resolve faltered. He released the man, tears streaming down his face as he spoke aloud. “Qi? You’re okay... Thank you…”

Back in the castle, Qi, the woman who had dispatched the king, was overwhelmed with a mixture of relief and anxiety. Her sweet, tender smile illuminated the chamber as she absorbed the news of Ereli’s safety. Yet, the gravity of their situation pressed heavily upon her. She needed to regroup with her comrades, and she quickly discovered that her king’s companions had been sent off to search for others.

Fury ignited within her. How could they have left the king alone in such peril? Without hesitation, Qi used her telepathic abilities to summon her allies back to the king’s side.

“Your Highness, please stay where you are. We’ll join you soon. I’ll guide us to you so we can regroup and devise a plan.”

“I understand,” came the king’s calm reply.

Qi’s smile softened further at the king’s trust and composure. For now, the immediate challenge was to escape their precarious situation. Thankfully, the dungeon lacked anti-teleportation wards, making their escape feasible. Qi quickly shared the coordinates with her friend and comrade, who is also one of the woman in the chamber, and the friend in question, with a smooth flicker of magic, transported herself and her allies to the king’s side.

Once reunited, they surveyed their surroundings.

The castle, still trembling from the king’s untimely demise, seemed to whisper secrets of its dark past.

The group now reunited would need to understand their new environment and find a way to navigate their uncertain future. For now, their focus was on each other and the next steps they would take together.
