For the next 2 hours, Caratos walked through the forest. At first, the new environment was subject of excitement, new smells, new colors, new landscapes.... However, there is still a limit of how much you can entertain a kid with "only" that much. Of course it's funny to discover a tree with red trunk and purple foliage, but after 3565 similar trees like that, you would end fed up. Caratos still discovered a strange event, no matter how he tries, he does not seem to be able to reach the origin of the animal sounds he hears. The worst is that they don't even seem to be avoiding him, but there isn't even marks of their presence, no imprints, excrement, or carcasses.
During those few hours, the sun gradually descended from the sky, before disappearing with its last rays, beyond the horizon. The time has come for the shadows to engulf the world. Until then, the forest was lit up, but now that it's no longer the case, and Caratos noticed this time a disturbing phenomenon. There is no sounds. Until then, even if he was not able to see any animals, he was still reassured by these familiar sounds of the forest. However, with the the arrival of the night, a silence of lead came down on the world. Sometimes, the silence can be much more terrifying than any sound, not to mention a child, even an adult is not spared.
The next hour, caratos alone and frightened, gathered all his courage with both hands, and decided to continue moving forward. It was difficult to advance through the twilight, well, at least until the wind comes up. This is where caratos real nightmare began.
If you have ever been in a forest at night, you should understand why the wind can scare. When it passes through the trees, an infamous sound appears, it's as if all the damned came out of hell to scream their hatred to the world. It's a chilling noise, accompanied by a breeze that's just as cold. The roar of the dead left Caratos at first paralyzed, and it was not until the wind made contact with him that he woke up and began to run, as if hell was on his trail.
There began a real slalom for Caratos, during his race he managed to dodge the trees in his way in-extremis. Unfortunatly for him, it doesn't seem to be the last of his worries, in his field of vision, he had the impression of being followed, these invisible trackers hiding in the shadows. However, luck doesn't want to smile at him anymore, after 20 minutes, the race and the lack of brightness got right of him, and he collided with a tree. For the first time in his life, caratos had the opportunity to study in detail the stars and their compositions for a little while.

-Back at the village of Acmos.-
This story has been stolen from Royal Road. If you read it on Amazon, please report it
It was only after 15 minutes that the blue smoke began to disappeare and gave a glimpse of the scene it was hiding. 35 bodies of children were all over the place, they were having their awakening through a dream. The only one standing was the elder of the village Malicke, he was still near the altar but not praying anymore.
"Take the kids home, they shouldn't wake up until tomorrow morning at least."
"Once they have all wake up, i will have a special lesson with them, make sure to inform them about that."
Villagers were extremly respectful of the elder, after all, not only was he the strongest here, but also the oldest, you had to show him respect for that. Therefore, they immediately obeyed his orders, without even any frown.
While the villagers were carrying the bodies, a man ran to the side of the elder, he seemed to come from outside the village, probably a tracker on a mission.
"Chief Malicke, i came to make my rapport."
"What's the problem Jayfe, didn't i told you to oversight this place today ?" Jayfe and his brother Jaisy were know in Acmos as the best trackers of the village. They even won the nickname "the wolf brothers".
"Yes chief, however, a big problem arose, I had no choice but to come and tell you !" Jayfe seemed rather panicked, it had to be important for him to react as such.
"Hum. Not here then, if that's so important then come with me in my shelter." The elder began to walk in the direction of a hut near the central place, his log house wasn't different from any other, if you don't take in account of the wolf face on the door. The tracker followed him in the house, but came out after 10 minutes only, and began to run out of the village. The Elder soon followed him out of his shelter, his facial expression was dark.
"Things will quickly get complicated from now on..."

-Fucking forest(from caratos)-
Caratos woke up with a second head above the first and a really big headache, so absolutely no apparent relationship with this enormous pleasure that he felt during this in-depth study on the stars. In short, a shitty day like many others.
Fortunatly for him, the sun was high in the sky, and he souldn't fall again, until at least 6-7 hours. Enough for him to get the hell out of there. Looking around, he noticed that he had arrived in a very large clearing. He was then shocked to discover a watercourse that cut into its center. Covered with blood, assoifed after his crazy night, he dragged himself to the source, before diving into it.
It was only after a good hour of washing in the water that Caratos finally decided to stop playing and lay down on the grass to let his body dry under the sun. Only now did he understand the saying: we only really know the value of a thing once we've lost. Only now did he began to think about the different options that were offered to him right now. His conclusions were : He was alone, he was 10 years old, he was clueless about anything in relation to survival when one is alone. Of course, he was born in a savage world where you have to fight everyday, and kids in those sort of place were rather resourceful, but they weren't accustomed to live alone. Remember that being alone means being isolated in nature, to translate it otherwise, you are dead.
By chance, when caratos was thinking, his gaze lay on a random grassy corner. And when he finally began to despair, he noticed a movement, small, very small, so small that he thought at first sight that his mind was playing tricks on him. Only after a movement had happened a second time was he convinced. There was something right here, the first living being beside himself. Unable to restrain his excitement at this new discovery, he rushed to the blade of grass.
"Fuck....." Caratos was shocked, there standing in the grass, was a little ant looking at him.
