Chapter 41: A bit about the past

Indeed, Senior Golem's cultivation base was too high that it seemed like he was a mortal. There wasn't a single strand of his aura leaking. Wang Tian also only looked like a Houtian Lifeform. Thus, his cultivation base was insignificant. This is the reason why the cashier concluded that they didn't have any strength.

Wang Tian looked at the cashier indifferently. Senior Golem saw this as a sign of disrespect so he was about to move. But Wang Tian raised his hand and shook his head. Signalling him to not make any rash movements.

The cashier was shocked when he saw the exchange of moves between the two whom he thought to be Wandering Cultivators. Before the shock, his face became pale and he felt like he was about to explode. It was a good thing that Wang Tian told Senior Golem to stop otherwise another live would be lost just like that. The cashier gasped for breath, broke into cold sweat and then changed the way he spoke.

"Apologies My Lords, which floor would you like this servant to take you to?" The cashier respectfully spoke.

Wang Tian looked at the cashier and laughed. He naturally understood what was happening. The cashier who was high and mighty, looking down at them like they were trash was now very polite. How could this happen? Strength! It all comes down to strength! In this world, the only way to be respected is to have enough strength!

"Can we access the ninth floor?" Wang Tian asked not being too respectful nor arrogant.

"This..." The cashier replied. He didn't know what to do. Although he felt that the two had powerful cultivations, he didn't know to what extent. Thus, he didn't know what to do.

Wang Tian looked at the cashier and discerned that this time, the cashier wasn't purposely giving them a tough time. He thought about it for a moment. he flicked his hand and then a badge appeared in his hand. This was the badge that they can use to identify themselves as members of the Seven Star Sword Sect.

The Seven Star Sword Sect is the biggest sect in the whole eastern part of the Yang Continent. Thus, they held an extremely big influence over their empire. But the four behemoths all had a tacit agreement to not concern themselves with politics or worldly matters as it would produce an endless amount of blood.

"Will this do?" Wang Tian said as he showed the cashier his identification.

The cashier's eyes went wide.

'My luck is truly akin to dog-shit!' He thought to himself. These two were actually from that Sect! The number one sect in the whole eastern part of the Yang Continent! How could he be so foolish as to look at them and speak to them with disdain! Did he have a death wish? The disciples of the Seven Star Sword Sect are all revered and seen as a goal for people whom are from the various empires. Their statuses can even surpass the emperors. Thus, they are to be treated very courteously.

"My Lords! Please! Forgive this lowly one for disrespecting you!" In an instant, a loud thud echoed about the whole first floor as the cashier's knees hit the ground. Following that, a loud bang was heard. The cashier kowtowed to the two of them and begged for mercy.

"The heavens aren't merciless. Come, stand up" Wang Tian said with a magnanimous smile.

The cashier didn't dare to disobey Wang Tian thus, he stood up slowly. He suddenly looked at Wang Tian in a new light. 'Such character and bearing in such a young man! Phew! It's a good thing he's the one I met.' He thought to himself.

"Yes yes, My Lords, it shall be enough to take you to the ninth floor." The cashier respectfully said.

"What's happening here?" A middle aged figure appeared in their line of sights. The figure came down from the second floor.

"I am the manager here. Is my employee causing you any trouble Sires?" The manager cupped his hands, bowed and said said as he looked at Wang Tian and Senior Golem with reverence.

"It's just a minor inconvenience. It is no trouble." Wang Tian replied.

The manager respectfully nodded and then showed Wang Tian and Senior Golem the way upstairs.

The two didn't give them any trouble and simply proceeded to walk upstairs. The manager looked at the cashier as if he was a dead man already.

The cashier's face became more unsightly.

"Please boss! Don't kill me! I was wrong please please please! I'll make it up to you!" The cashier dropped down on his knees and begged for his boss's mercy.

The manager didn't reply and instead, raised his right index finger up to his neck. He lacerated himself with his right index finger.

You could be reading stolen content. Head to Royal Road for the genuine story.

In an instant, two men appeared from the shadows and took away the cashier. Judging from the sign earlier, he will surely die a gruesome death.

"Young Master, they killed the cashier" Senior Golem said as he walked with his Young Master.

Wang Tian shrugged and said, "It's none of our business. It was his misfortune and carelessness to act so arrogantly in front of a stranger."

In actuality, Wang Tian let the cashier off the hook simply because he was in a good mood. He didn't want to kill as it would dampen the joyous atmosphere. It would also prove to be not beneficial to him if he killed someone when he had just arrived.

Senior Golem nodded and then they proceeded to walk upstairs. After a few minutes, they finally arrived at the ninth floor. The ninth floor wasn't very spacious but it was very elegant and refined. It wasn't guarded as there wasn't any sane person to dare trespass here. The duo walked to a part near the window as Wang Tian wanted to enjoy the view.

"What would you like to order My Lords?" A beautiful waitress with a voluptuous body said with a charming smile.

Wang Tian smiled at her, in awe at her beauty. "I'll have the best wine and dish that your restaurant can offer."

"How about you Senior? What would you like to have?" Wang Tian looked at his Senior and then asked.

"Anything Young Master." Senior Golem replied.

"Oh okay, then make it two orders of your restaurants best of best." Wang Tian said with a smile.

The waitress's eyes shined. She cupped her fists, bowed and then left. Not long after, she returned with what Wang Tian ordered.

"This is our restaurant's specialty, the 'Grieving Chicken Fillet' made from the legendary Hundred Yang Fish and coated with the juice of the rare Fiery Torment Fruit."

"This wine is also called, 'Phoenix Wine' it came from an expert wine maker who traveled here a long time ago"

The waitress carefully and slowly explained to Wang Tian and Senior Golem the details.

Wang Tian nodded and then expressed his thanks. After exchanging a few more pleasantries, the waitress left.

"Truly a marvelous sight..." Wang Tian uttered as his gaze shifted from the waitress to the view.

"Indeed. Very fruitful" Senior Golem replied solemnly as he copied Wang Tian's actions. Although it sounded very pure and plain, it had deeper meanings.

Wang Tian heard the reply and didn't know whether to laugh or cry. Someone as powerful as his senior was cracking dirty jokes.

Senior Golem laughed, sipped from his cup and said, "Do not be fooled Young Master. I have lived for a very long time. What beauty have I not seen? What beauty have I not appreciated? We all grow old. It's just a bag of skin and bones."

After he said this, he set up a soundproof barrier around them with his consciousness so that what they were talking about could not be exposed. It was better safe than sorry right?

Wang Tian nodded and also took a sip from his cup. "You're right. But alas, like the air around the sky, my blood is mixed with those of races which love pleasure and beauty. Thus, I cannot completely free myself from this even if I struggle hard to control it."

Senior Golem laughed when he heard what Wang Tian said. "Oh don't be like that Young Master. It's nothing to complain about. Master was also a human but he didn't get pleasure and women get to him. He stuck with the Dao. Loving only the journey to the pinnacle."

Wang Tian's eyebrows raised and then he replied, "but didn't he have a Dao partner?"

Yes, the knowledge and experiences that he inherited from his master told him that his master had a Dao partner.

"Hm? Yes... But alas, the mistress and master parted all of a sudden. He was too down in the dumps that time so we didn't dare to ask him. Maybe Senior Brother Long knows." Senior Golem said with a bit of sadness.

Wang Tian looked on with interest and asked, "How long ago was it?". The inheritance was a bit jumbled thus, he did not know when it occured in his master's life.

"Maybe about fifteen thousand years ago? I don't know. Maybe even more? It was so long ago that I don't really remember the specific time." Senior Golem said.

"Was her cultivation base high?" Wang Tian asked. Senior Golem nodded. "The mistress was more powerful than me. Maybe more powerful than Senior Brother Long. But definitely not powerful than Master. Maybe slightly inferior to him?"

His answer caused waves to form inside Wang Tian's mind. 'The mistress was that powerful? Then again, it isn't that quite surprising since his Master was a supreme existence. A peerless expert of the human race.' thinking of this, he quickly calmed down.

"If she's that powerful, then maybe she's still alive today? When I reach new heights with my cultivation base, we'll search for Aunt. How does that sound?" He said to Senior Golem.

Senior Golem heartily laughed. He thought about what Wang Tian said for a moment and quickly found it to be a bit reasonable. Someone as powerful as the mistress couldn't possible die right?

"Good lad! Then we shall journey through the vast skies in search for the mistress!" Senior Golem exclaimed with a smile.

The two talked and drank for a few moments before they were disrupted by someone screaming.

"All of you! Get out! My Lord wants to occupy the whole ninth floor!"

A guy who looks to be about twenty three years old clad in yellow shouted with utter disrespect. The other customers heard this and then they quickly fled. They all knew who this person served! They were all frequent customers of this restaurant. They all knew each other. Thus when they saw who the person who shouted, they had no choice but to pay what they owed to the restaurants and leave.

The duo heard this but didn't pay it any mind. They simply proceeded to what they were doing, not giving a care about the guy who just shouted.

"You two! Are you fucking deaf? Didn't I say to fucking leave?! Are you courting death?!" The man clad in yellow was infuriated when he saw that these peasants simply ignored him. Who was he? He was the servant of the Second Young Master of the House Xi! How could these measly beings dare to be so disrespectful to him!

"You! Make these two leave and prepare the most delicious dishes that you van offer!" The man clad in yellow pointed towards the waitress.

The waitress broke into cold sweat. Ah she was really unfortunate. She didn't know what to do. The duo whom were eating were esteemed guests that the manager personally told them to satisfy while the latter party was the servant of the Second Young Master of House Xi. Famous for being a debauchee and a troublemaker in the whole Silver Crow City. She didn't want to risk offending either of the parties. Thus she was torn on what to do.
