~ 1 week later ~
It was early in the morning. The sun had yet to even come up. John was sleeping comfortably in his bed, without a care in the world.
And then it came.
The boom of his front door being blown off its hinges. The wind tried hard to catch up to her. His bedroom door flew off the hinges and crashed into his body.
The pain of the door hitting him made John shoot up from his bed. He immediately got into a fighting pose with both his hands clenched into fists as he was ready to knock out whoever landed that blow on him.
But to his surprise, his 'attacker' was someone that whom he was very familiar.
It was a caucasian woman who looked to be in her late teens with short brown hair. The woman wore green leather hot pants and a matching hooded vest. She had a pair of brown, feathery wings behind her back that filled the entire room. Golden, glittering dust-covered parts of the room with her arrival.
And she looked pissed
"Fae?" John called out weakly, hoping that he was still dreaming
But when the gold dust surrounded his body and sent him flying out his bedroom door and into the living room, he knew that it was his sad reality.
John crashed into his television, breaking it in the process.
'Looks like she has learned to hold back since we last saw each other.'
While John was just glad that his cousin had finally learned to hold back slightly with that fiery temper of hers, the woman in question flew into the room, still feeling enraged.
"Why the fuck didn't I know that my sidekick isn't my baby cousin like I expected but some random bitch from who gives a fuck that I have never met in my lifetime?"
John got up from the ground before dusting himself off.
"Shouldn't you be questioning the people in charge of assigning the sidekicks? Why am I getting my ass kicked so early in the morning?" John asked knowing it would only piss off his cousin even more
"Because I can't kick all of their asses. I can beat yours though," Fae gave her honest thoughts
John couldn't help but give his cousin a weak smile. She had always been brutally honest and never held anything back, especially toward him
"Well, that's part of the reason why. Because I'm so weak, my father didn't want me to ruin your reputation or the family's reputation. I've been told to give up on being a hero," John told his cousin honestly

Fae nodded when she heard him. It was not like it was the first time his father had said anything like that. He had been telling John for years
"Why do you sound so... normal?" Fae questioned him
"Because I wasn't bothered by it in the first place."
"Hmm," Fae agreed sarcastically. "And that's why you stormed into the meeting room to confront your father, haven't left your apartment for the past week, cleaned this dump of a room, and talked to Emma or Tyler?"
John nodded his head.
"Of course. While I was pissed off about being rejected, that confrontation was only half real. I needed everyone to think I was truly devastated. I needed a reason to leave."
"You bastard!" Fae commented before she went to his kitchen to grab a soda for each of them. Gold dust gathered around the room before picking up the pieces of John's front door.
Fae soon came back with a cherry soda in one hand and a strawberry in the other. By the time she got back, the door was fixed, with some sold lines along with the parts that Fae had broken.
"Which do you want?"
"Cherry."
Fae threw him the strawberry soda. John caught it and shook his head.
"So what's the plan?"
"Can't tell you exactly. I have to be very fluid with this plan. If I try to control too much, I will end up ruining it all.."
Fae sipped her soda and nodded. She had dealt with quite a few heroes over the past year that to keep everything under their control, only to end up completely blindsided when something when wrong.
"You can't tell me exactly but you can give me hints, right?"
John took a deep breath. There was no harm in giving her some hints. He just couldn't tell her the exact details and what he was truly about to do.
"Why do you think Jamie died?"
"Because The Alliance and the other most powerful hero groups have made The Pact and enforce it across all teams. We don't kill villains, we don't needlessly use mind, time, production powers, don't reveal secret identities of anyone, no involving relatives, etc, etc. All unless we get permission from the very top in particular situations."
John took a sip of his soda and nodded before shaking his head.
"You're half right. It's because heroes have to follow The Pact but villains don't. No matter what a villain does, there is no one there to make sure they follow the additional rules. Heroes can only enforce the laws of the nation they are in."
Fae nodded absentmindedly before her eyes wide. She looked at John like he was a madman.
"You can't be serious?!"
John nodded calmly. He had been planning this for years. He was dead serious.
Seeing that he was nodding, Fae couldn't help but laugh at her cousin's madness. Whether he succeeded or not, that wasn't the issue anymore. The fact that her cousin had the balls to even try his plan while being the son of Vulcan and her cousin was what made his plan even more insane.
"You know what one of the absolute exceptions to The Pact is, right? Legacies that go rogue. Because you have had access to every bit of information that they could get their hands on since a kid and have built relationships with countless heroes. If they find out that you went rogue, they will send out the hit squad and kill you!
And not only are you thinking of going rogue, but you are also leaving the protection of The Alliance. How many villains would use you to get to Emma, or Tyler, or myself, or any other hero that they think you have the slightest connection to. Not to mention just how many want to kill you since you are the son of your father. You are making enemies on every side! Have you thought about just how dangerous this is?!?!"
John nodded again. He knew just how dangerous his plan was.
If he got caught before he reached his new home, he was dead.
If his identity got leaked, he was dead.
In his bid to gain control and he went up against someone that was out of his league, he was dead.
Even if he had the best reason to go through with his plan, there were 99 more reasons why he shouldn't.
"Fae. Tell me what I'm doing doesn't need to be done and I will stop."
Fae opened her mouth to say that but she couldn't. No matter how much she didn't want her cousin to go through with his plan, she knew that someone needed to do it. And no one else was crazy enough to try.
"So I'm just supposed to sit on my ass while you go and risk your life?"
"No," John shook his head. "You won't be sitting on your ass. You'll be fighting with your life on the line on the other side. But I also need you to gain power. Because the hero side is also becoming unstable. Only the older and most powerful heroes believe in The Pact. The villains have been getting too rowdy.
You are considered one of the top rookie heroes and you only debuted last year. You need to get the next generation in line and ready to create a new Pact. One that allows the heroes to feel as if they are protected as well. You have the rest of the Fae Court and Emma and Tyler with you. You can expand from there over the next few years."
Fae felt baffled at her cousin. He not only wanted to get himself killed but he also wanted to get her killed as well.
"You're not just talking about organizing the villains. You want to start a revolution all over the world!"
John didn't answer her, his silence confirming Fae's words.
Fae held her forehead as she tried to prepare for the headache she knew she would have to deal with for the rest of the day.
"Great! Just! Fucking! Great! At least tell me when you're leaving!"
John smirked at his cousin before walking past her and into his room. He came back a few seconds later with two duffle bags in his hand and a backpack strapped on his back.
"I needed to 'escape' from my cousin's wrath. Then, I can go missing and be presumed dead."
