I wanted to disclose that I wrote this installment 2 years ago. Not a concrete work but litterally just this first episode. So I must be frank and say that, personally, I feel like i was absolute garbage of a writer back then. My Only strength was Combat Scenes. - But i can promise this gets way less corny from Episode 2 and onward. (where I'm at now, among other things.)

We kick of our story with a sudden gust of snow, to which we then see a young fellow, male from what can be deciphered, with reddish brown coloured hair and pink eyes looking off into the blank space of snow, seeming to be lost in thought as the light of the moon begins to settle in.

Xenon: ..It's getting pretty late, but..that herb matches the description mom gave us for the final ingredient of her special ongiri!

Xenon then smiles, rushing over to the herb and crouching down to uproot it from the somewhat snowy surface of land, once done, happily placing the rather large green herb in his sack, sparing a glance upward to see the same kind of herb farther off into the distance to which he runs over and immediately and plucks it out, though it appears as though the root stretches way beyond the herb's individual length, xenon giving it a final tug and surprisingly, a second root emerges, leaving xenon in complete surprise as he pulls further and tries further to come across the emergence of a third herb. xenon grins in delight as he then places each in his small sack, the unusual plant seeming to have reached it's peak. the young fellow ties then hoists the sack over his shoulder into his carrier made of sticks and rope, carrying 6 sets of relatively long wood logs. Surprisingly light on the Small boy.

Though xenon appears more than physically well built enough to easily jog up the mountain, singing to himself as he passes by the trees that vary in size, eventually, about a couple seconds later, he passes a relatively small cabin, at which a seemingly middle aged man settles down a stack of chopped wood down in a settled pile. Turning around to head inside, he notices xenon on his way, who casually jogs up the mountain at quick pace, he abruptly calls to the young boy, saying in a questioning tone.

Man:Oi Xenon. What are you doing walking around this late at night?

Xen turns to him and says with a gentle smile.

Xen: oh, i was just out running some errands..i got a little carried away, i'll admit..but it's a good thing! I'd managed to sell all the charcoal this time! Mom will be very happy. Though i was feeling really good about myself so i decided to collect some wood for the fire at home, and also came across something really special, so i have to get home quickly.

Albeit amused at the ecstatic boy's ramblings, More pressing matters prompt the Man's brows to tighten. crossing his arms, he stops xenon once more as he says, Sternly.

Man: oh no you don't, son. It's way too late, right now, for anyone to be going anywhere outside their homes, at night.

Xen's expression turns to confusion.

Xenon: huh? But why not?

Man:...The demons roam around at night. So it isn't safe for you out here. Get at whatever it is you're gonna do for your family in the morning but for now, you'll have to stay inside, i'm afraid.

Xenon ponders for a moment, thinking of whether or whether not to oblige. Soon though, he asks with an on-edge expression, Alarmed by the Man's words. But not for his safety this time around.

Xenon: I just..have one important question to ask. If you're insisting that it's safer from these supposed demons indoors. Could demons ever enter inside a human's living quarters? By any chance?

The man is silent for a short moment before answering with a heaved breath.

Man: That is beside the point..but Yes. Yes they could. Although you shouldnt-

Xenon's eyes immediately go wide and, in a quick burst of speed, he darts off, even quicker up the mountain. The man shouts out for him in reprimand but xenon's already vanished within the haze of the snow.

Through what soon becomes heavy, panting breaths, xenon finds himself in the open plane where his home is located.

He sprints in very quick motion, eyes wide and teeth gritted with worry and visible Strain.

Xenon: (Come on, Xenon! You may feel like you wanna hurl your lungs out right now but You have..you have to get to them!!)

Once approaching the entry point of his home, xenon is stopped dead in his tracks when he hears the faint cry of one of his younger siblings, running in and bursting the door to find large pools and trails of blood left all across the floor, floor mats and walls, the previously ignited, burning fire, now put out with some sort of collision and fluid. Blood trails leading to the backyard and kitchen, xen's heart skipping a beat and his skin going pale as he hears the cry of nezuko and sees her go flying past the open backdoor, which was partially broken through.

Xenon grabs a brick from the front porch and rushes to the back, viciously tossing it at the figure, hitting it right at the side of the temple, making it grit it's teeth in anger as it crushes the throat of his younger little sister, xen's eyes widening as her body falls to the ground, completely limp. A rage then consumes him as what just crushed his sisters throat, turns around and rushes another one of his younger sisters, nezuko, the one that it seems to have flung into a row of flower and clay pots, all filled with colourful flowers within. All of which have been crushed by nezuko's body, her white kimono stained with the blood of her and xen's family. Tears falling down nezuko's face as she looks on at the demon, however, before it can reach her.

Xenon suddenly bursts to meet him midway from the side. The mark imprinted on his forehead burning and turning a brighter red as xenon slams his fist into the demon's face, sending it slamming into the wall, hard, with xenon lifting nezuko high up in his arms and running in the opposite direction. Nezuko's face ripe with pain and xenon saying as he reaches the open, snowy plane, Tears dripping down his face.

Xenon: Hang in there, nezuko! Don't die on me please..I can't bear to lose another one of you so please, Just hold on for me!

Nezuko's eyes begin to fade and soon close, which scares xenon nearly half to death but he's relieved to hear that her heart's still beating, Albeit at a higher rate than normal. Once sure they're far away enough from the demon, xenon falls on his knees, stroking nezuko's hair gently, saying with a sad expression.

Xenon: I don't know why this had to happen to us nezuko..I know you must've been terrified when the demons showed up..mom..the little ones....if only i wasn't careless enough to go overboard and pile on the extra wood and the herbs, i would've given mom..maybe. just maybe i could've saved you all...but...damnit....i can't go back in time and change things...change how foolish I was.. nor can i blame anyone but myself here...in the end. All i can say is...I'm sorry..to all of you...

Suddenly, xenon picks up a sound incoming from a nearby bush, standing alert, xenon holds nezuko close, protectively, a red coloured demon wearing torn jean shorts emerges from it, It's tall stature looking down upon xen and the unconscious nezuko, almost immediately, xenon runs off in the opposite direction, unfortunately coming face to face with another demon, bumping into its bulky frame and falling onto his back with nezuko held close. The tall demon walks up to xenon, the bulky one grabbing nezuko and opening its mouth to bite a chunk out of her shoulder, however, xenon bites the finger of the tall demon's hand that had grabbed him, breaking and ripping the finger off the hand, which enables him to rush at nezuko's Pursuer and send it onto its back with a front drop kick to the chest. Getting up, xen scoops up his sister and prepares to run even further away but the demon from before, that'd massacred his home and family soars from the air, stomping down on xenon and crashing his head down into the ground, nezuko, who re-opens her eyes to see the demon from before reel in her brother's head, preparing to bite into his neck, to which her eyes go wide and she shouts out.

Nezuko: NO!!

Suddenly though, the tall demon forcefully plants xenon's head back into the floor, out of range of the demon's teeth, saying with red glowing eyes.

Tall: hey...what the hell are you doing with my prey?

Homicidal demon: eh? Your prey? Tch. Listen you overgrown hogger. Incase you didn't know, i single handedly ate a handful of this meal's kin, and i plan to leave no stone unturned, so back the hell off!

The tall demon retaliates almost immediately, grabbing the homicidal demon by the face and saying with an expressionless look.

Tall: I'm afraid i can't do that Under Your exact word..lower 28..

The homicidal demon's eyes then spark up.

Homicidal Demon: (this bastard's aware, I'm a Moon?..I've never seen him around before. Which must mean he isn't within the Moons or in anyway related to them...so how does he know...not to mention, How is he managing to Grab me like this!?

The tall demon then says, tightening his grip.

Tall: It's simple.

He then tosses the homicidal demon away, baring his teeth and taking on a vicious stance as the rather puny horns by its forehead increase in size and red markings drape along just under it's eyes and far over it's chin, the Tall demon saying as it's arms grow sharp, black tinted bladed.

Tall: I'm Beyond what the Moon Organisation Calls "Strength". Yes...I'm Beyond Strength..And Surely beyond You!

The homicidal demon lands firmly to the ground with a backflip, crouching low as he says, irritated..

H Demon: Whatever the hell it is you are, i'm gonna drown you in my swamp like i have nearly all my previous victims! You might as well say your prayers - Hraaaagggh!!!

The homicidal demon rushes at the tall demon with a burst, the bulky one from before gulping nervously then saying.

Bulky: (Okay, while he's distracted, i'll consume that piece and maybe the female one and make a run for it. I can't afford to risk myself against lower moon level demons.

In a flash, bulky swiftly makes his way to xenon, almost in killing range but nezuko steps in, spreading her arms to either side, protectively, the bulky demon's eyes turning a bloodshot red as she does so, keeping him away from xenon for the moment.

Instinctively though, Bulky grabs hold of nezuko and prepares to bite a chunk out of her shoulder blade area but suddenly, xenon's body surges upward, thrusting his arm up and into the bulky demon's open mouth, It's fangs piercing the bare flesh of his palm. Xenon doesn't even flinch as the the demon's teeth dig even deeper within his hand, the human screaming as the mark on his forehead burns red, lifting the demon off it's feet.

Xenon: HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH!!

Xenon forces the bulky demon's body to the ground in a vicious slam Of its head, the demon looking stun faced as xenon's eyes appear blank with veins popping out of his forehead as he growls at the man-eating monster.

Bulky: W-what unbelievable strength..!

Suddenly though, xenon's eyes fade back into place, the human's eyes then shoot upward before he crumbles, his body falling partially on top of the demon and mostly on the floor, the bulky demon taking a glance at his unconscious self, then resting his eyes on nezuko, who looks both concerned and utterly terrified for her brother.

Bulky: (Not gonna take any changes with this odd, rancid piece of meat! I should eat his sister as quick as i can and get out of here!)

Quickly, the bulky demon sits up and attempts to rush nezuko but he's suddenly pulled back, xenon's arm and grip holding firm onto the Demon's Leg even as he lays face down in a subconscious state, expression taught.

The bulky demon grits it's teeth, saying as it lunges and Opens its jaw to bite down into xenon's neck.

Bulky: Ugh! You bastard! Why the hell is it, you aren't quitting!? Urrrrghhhh!!

The demon leaves a horrifying bite sized hole in the side of xenon's neck, punching down on his arm as the human refuses to succumb to his injuries, blood flowing from his neck fast. Xenon's arm eventually breaks, but by then, his eyes lose all sign of life, his arm then loosening in grip and the bulky demon only escaping the cusp of xen's grasp by just a bit before xenon's eyes unbelievably spark to life once more, red veins appearing within them all the same time, xenon digging newly developed claws into the bulky demon's arm, the mark on his forehead re-igniting, after he growls, A Blazing inferno beginning to swirl around him as he yells out.

Xenon: Don't..you dare lay a finger on my little sister!!! - HRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGHHH!!!

On que, xenon gets off the ground in unnatural manner and violently whirls the bulky demon in a circle, not even having the slightest amount of struggle in launching the bulky demon into a plane of trees, it flying through multiple before no sign of it remains in eye-shot. xenon's broken arm heals in quick fashion, the boy turning his head to nezuko, expression softening greatly as he sees she looks horrified, tears glistening in her pink eyes.

Xenon caresses his sister's cheek, saying in a soft, gentle tone.

Xenon: Nezuko...I'm sorry if i startled you. Did he manage to get to you after all? Did he hurt you-

Cutting him off, nezuko captures her brother in a tight embrace, tears falling from her face as she says.

Nezuko: I thought you died from all the blood you lost...

Xenon processes what she's just said, quickly recalling all that he can before telling nezuko.

Xenon: heh. Didn't mom tell you negative thoughts don't always bring positive results? I'd lose everything on a hill before I let Anything hurt you. And for the record, Only the positive thoughts bring good fortune. Even if things aren't looking your way, with a positive mindset, you can alter whatever negative occurrence you see. I remember you prevented him from reaching me..*You* did that, nezuko. And I'm alive thanks to it.

Nezuko feels a very soothing sense of calm in xenon's embrace, burying her head in his shoulder, saying.

Nezuko: I couldn't even imagine what i'd do if i found out you were killed by monsters, xen...it just barged in the house while mom was getting dinner ready...and just started killing everyone...I swear..i tried to protect Takeo, Hanako, Shigeru and..and even rokuta..but...

Xenon strokes nezuko's hair gently, telling her in a soft tone, looking pained himself.

Xenon: shhhh...i'm here now, nezuko. I swear i'll be here for you no matter what now. Mom..Mom would want us to stay by each other's side and have each other's backs. So i'll be the heroic big brother, you often teased me of being..

He pulls away to look at her face, giving her a meaningful smile as he says, seeing her eyes glistening with tears, the same in his.

Xenon: Mom would be proud to see just how much you've grown...in such little time too. I know you must've tried your best to protect everyone the best you could nezuko..so you shouldnt feel like you failed anyone.. that was more than enough to show everyone that they were all worth protecting in your eyes. To the bitter end. I promise we'll be okay. I'll make sure of it.

The Tall demon, who's finally got the homicidal demon pinned at a tree, an arm blade having impaled him and now holds him up against the tree, unresponsive and the tall demon looks back, confused as he casually regrows the blade on his arm in an instant, saying.

Tall: eh? When and how did you even muster the energy to get on your feet? Tch. How annoying you human weaklings are sometimes. Sigh...no matter. For I'll grant you both the honor...

His Eyes Glow A Dull Purple as He Clenches his fists, An ominous pressure ommiting from his body as he shouts.

Tall: ..OF BEING DEVOURED BY ME!!

The tall demon then rushes xenon and nezuko, xenon putting on a serious expression as he sees A Lunging Attack coming, getting Infront of nezuko and outstretching his arms back to her, saying.

Xenon: Stay close to me nezuko, I won't let you get hurt, but we gotta do this together, okay?

Nezuko looks at the tall, charging demon, putting on the same serious expression as xenon after a moment and nodding to him. - things appear to move in slow motion as she does so, then gets on xenon's back, clutching him tightly as he keeps her secure, completely vanishing with her as the tall demon throws his fist at xenon's face, the demon shocked as it happens. Striking the wisp of air.

Tall: What the-

Xenon reappears in an attack position, arm and fist reared back just before he slams fist hard into the the demon's abdomen, causing it to cough up a spurt of saliva, getting pushed back by the force at a good distance, as he then sees xenon charge at him in a sprint, swiftly positioning its arms in an X pattern, saying as the blades glow red.

Tall: Blood demon art: Hourglass Dance, organ rupture!

He then thrusts his arms forward, the red blades glowing bright as they lunge at the two, though xenon swiftly avoids them both with a jump and dash. Though, the blades Change direction and go straight for him, nezuko alerting xenon with a light yip, xenon then dives forward to avoid the first slash and then swiftly dash in various directions, 4 consecutive times as the blades follow him in a zig zag pattern, once they fade and the demon widens his eyes in utter shock, xenon dashes forward and sharply kicks the demon's knee, causing a massive crunch sound to erupt from his leg, the demon wincing and soon screaming as xenon roars and completely kicks the lower leg off the tall demon, causing it to fall but support itself on one knee, in agonizing pain as xenon jumps high in the air, above the tall demon's head, preparing to finish it off but nezuko notices something rush right at them and alerts xenon, he who instinctively throws his body to the right, a claw grazing his shoulder but he looks over to see nezuko thankfully unharmed.

In response, xenon performs a series of flips in the air as he falls further to the ground, in mid-air, however, xenon rears back an arm, things appearing in slow motion briefly as we see a foamy liquid quickly materializes into a sharply curved sharp shard, piercing their attacker's throat, causing him to react in immense pain, xenon landing on the ground in a battle ready crouch, looking out and about for Tall, who's disappeared.

Suddenly though, bulky appears again from just above xenon, looking infuriated, throwing an overhead heel kick that xenon avoids, dashing backward slightly and then dodging a flurry of punches bulky throws at him, saying in a burning rage.

Bulky: You insolent piece of trash! I Can tolerate being told i'm not liable enough to be a Moon, But i WILL NOT TOLERATE You shaming my incredible physique and power and RAGDOLLING ME LIKE A CHILD!!!!

Bulky throws widely, xenon easily avoiding it and swiftly throwing out his leg in a spinning heel kick motion, the foamy liquid flow launching off of it and quickly crystalizing partially before cutting right through bulky's neck, his body soon going limp and falling to the floor, on knees then onto it's stomach, his head not much farther away. Xenon moves over to it to see bulky sobbing with both his eyes closed, surprising him. He touches the demons hair and then rests his hand on it, hearing the distant voice of bulky saying in a pained tone: "I just wanted to be strong...like everybody else was..." all said whilst showcasing a rather frail, scrawny child, who looks over at the different children all around, chopping bricks in half with immense effort and concentration as well as others practicing catching brick tiles with their finger tips and toes all their athletic builds and expressions beaming with brightness. The frail boy then casts his gaze downward, tears dripping from his face.

With the memory fading, nezuko, who'd gotten off xen's back, picks up the head of bulky that fades away smoothly, bulky then opens his eyes to see nezuko's face, her pink eyes giving him a sense of calm, saying as she gives him a very sympathetic look.

Bulky: Such gentle eyes...as far as i can remember..no one has ever given me looks that didn't vary from sheer disappointment and disgust...I tried to end her life and yet she doesn't hate me for it...what a beautiful soul you have..and to be looked upon by such caring eyes...

His tears flow up what remains of him and soon into the ground as he says his final words.

Bulky: It's a dream i never thought would come true...thank you so much...

Once he fades away completely, nezuko closes her eyes, leaving his soul some kind kind words as xenon gets up and clasps his hands together and leaves his soul some words of his own.

Xen: Rest in peace..

Nezuko then looks up at him and takes his outstretched hand, saying in her usual, soft and gentle tone.

Nezuko: What do we do now?

Xenon replies, gaze set first on the ground then on the suffering demon by the tree...

Xenon: we'll bury our little sister back home and...i hate to think about it..but..we'll have to finish off our family's killer...

The two look on at the H demon, coughing up blood, with the colour and foam of xenon's foamy liquid dripping down the sides of its mouth, eyes red and ripe with the internal pain he's experiencing now, all over, his upper body. His forearms already have been eaten away at, the demon saying as nezuko and xenon walk toward him, in utter fear.

H demon: I can't use my blood demon art! whatever's happening to me, it'll cost me my life if i don't do something...anything...I already tried pulling this blasted crystal out but i only managed to cut my palms open..could this be poison? Am i being poisoned right now?

But as he ponders, nezuko and xenon are already upon him, H Demon is beyond scared at the moment but he looks up anyway, his eyes sparking up once seeing the two giving him two very pained looks, having expected eyes that burned with sheer and utter rage and resentment. Nezuko then says, teary eyed.

Nezuko: I...i don't know why you did it...or why my family had to be killed today. On a good day...I'm sure you had a reason for it when i saw that look in your eye after eating my mother...

She then continues, eyes distant and somewhat cold.

Nezuko: what i don't understand is why you'd kill innocent children in cold blood like that. Pure, kind hearted children were ruthlessly murdered today all because of whatever motive you monsters find as accomplishments by killing people and hurting the ones who love them most. Do you even know what that kind of pain is like? Did you feel even the slightest bit of guilt when you saw me desperately trying to stop my mother from bleeding out?...it didn't look like you did...and yet...

Nezuko clenches her fists tightly and lowers her head as tears flow, recalling everything, Xenon keeping a more docile expression, but the tears flow either way. Nezuko then raises her head back to him, continuing.

Nezuko: I can't help but feel bad for you...even though you mercilessly slaughtered our family..it breaks my heart to see you suffer in your final moments..not because it's sad to see but...

She and xenon then say in unison, Xenon Looking distant as he stares outwardly.

Xenon/Nezuko: Because you were once like me...

The demon looks to xenon. Who's eyes are wide..lost in deep thought. Nezuko then continues.

Nezuko: I hate seeing you suffer because you didn't ask or willingly choose to be like this but even so..My family didn't ask to be massacred by you either..so...so......i'll try to make this quick.

The demon's eyes go wide as xenon extracts the blade from his throat and holds what remains of his upper body pinned to the tree and hands the blade to nezuko. the demon looks horrified as nezuko rears back her arm and, with a deep breath, swiftly  slices through the demon's neck with a whip of her arm, his head falling from his body in what appears to be slow motion, the demon saying before his head and body disintegrate alltogether.

H: Maybe...just maybe, if i'd have not stumbled across that resident..maybe i could've lived long enough to play catch with you again...susamaru...I should never have gotten caught up in this popularity contest the demons just call 'getting strong'.....i'm sorry...

The demon says all of this whilst a memory plays out of he and a little girl running across the landscape, joyfully playing catch with eachother tossing around a temari ball. His younger self fading out of it and The little girl beaming at the empty position before she fades into a white light as well. cutting back to the demon, we see him rest his gaze upon the two, who stand with their hands clasped together, tears flowing from their eyes as they say to him, resting their gazes on him as he leaves the world.

Xenon/Nezuko: May your soul rest in peace...

The demon looks completely torn as they say that, saying with tears.

H: (Even after doing something as inhumane as that to the people closest to them...they still felt the need to leave me such beautiful words in my last moments...)

He then breaks down, his voice doing the same.

H: I was a horrible person...and for whatever it's worth...I'm truly sorry for the pain i've caused you and many others...

And finally, the demon's remains fade away completely, xenon and nezuko dwelling upon it for a moment before xenon gently squeezes nezuko's hand and leads her back-way.

Xenon: come on..let's go home and say our final goodbyes to rokuta...

As the two walk a little longer, nezuko asks, eyes looking up.

Nezuko: hey, xen?

Xenon: Yeah?

Nezuko: Do you think mom, rokuta, takeo, hanako and even shiguro are all watching over us, or will be?

Xenon smiles at his sister and says with an enthusiastic nod.

Xenon: No doubt. Even dad is watching over us all, and i know they're very proud of you for doing your best. And us keeping eachother safe? that's made mom and dad real happy, I'm sure.

Xenon grins at her and she smiles back in response, giving him a nod. xenon then says.

Xenon: we only have eachother to lean on now, so lets pinky promise to always have eachother's backs in whatever circumstance. Deal?

Nezuko smiles happily and entwines her pinky with his then responds just as enthusiastically.

Nezuko: Mhm! Deal!

The camera then darts off into the haze of the snow, fading quickly though and revealing the light of dawn. The next morning.

Nezuko wakes up to the sound of a knock coming from the front door. She gets up and walks over, sliding the door open to see a much taller, blue haired man, wielding a stylish looking katana, he greets her with a meek nod and bow before saying.

Man: Hello, young lady. Have you happened to see or hear of any demons in the area? I'd felt the presence of one here not long ago but it doesn't look like there's anything around.

Nezuko regards him with a smile and replies politely.

Nezuko: hello there, sir. Sorry but i haven't seen any demons around this area recently...maybe you could ask the locals downtown..I'm just a little on edge since last night since It's just I and my older brother that live here now.

The man nods and says.

Man: Oh i see. Well thanks..for the suggestion. I Take it you aren't used to the risk of them harming people very much?

She nods lightly before he says in response.

Man: Well you shouldn't worry. It's my duty to keep the people of this village safe now and that includes yourself and-

Suddenly, the man senses a powerful demon's presense not far from them, his eyes Spark Up as he notes it isn't just any demon...

Man: (There's an art demon behind us! I've gotta-)

Xenon: Morning Nezuko! You make a new friend on your own already? I'm impressed! Oh and just so you know, we sold out today. The entire bag's nearly full.

Xenon says, waving enthusiastically at his sister, nezuko smiling and doing the same.

Nezuko: Looks like my big brother's home.

Before she can move any further, Nezuko's eyes widen as The man bursts off from his rigid position beside her in the doorway and rushes xenon, all whilst chanting to himself.

Man: Water breathing, Forth form - Striking Tide!

In insanely fast succession, the area turns black and a series of 4, lightning fast sea blue water slashes are showcased with blood splatter off each Fierce strike.

the area then fades back to normal to show the man, having swiftly cut off xenon's ankle, sliced nearly his entire head off, sliced off his right hand and cut his left forearm off.

xenon falls on his butt and tries desperately to keep whatever connected, Unslit part of his neck, from snapping off with the cut off, bleeding stump of his right arm. Xenon coughing up blood in the process as the man moves in to finish it, however, nezuko lets out a cry and runs over quickly, shielding her brother, protectively as the man looks on at xenon's shocked expression, saying in a cold tone.

Man: Step aside...that's a demon you're embracing, Girl...and luckily i'd immobilized it before you did something as foolish as this...Step aside now if you know whats good for you. you would have been eaten right away if it wasn't for my duty as a demon slayer to protect the innocent here and slaying it once and for all...so in the name of your own safety..step aside!
