Kill Thy Gods!
Chapter 3 — Hell Begins!

Chapter 3 — Hell Begins!

Walking down the mossy dungeon for more than minutes, with torches primitively lighting each distance. Leon was alert with his hands on his sword's hilt. For a mage to have a sword, well, you will see what happens.

In the distance was a corner, and on the ground was visible pools of blood. This is where the massacre probably happened, a famous corner in the Tutorial of Beginnings— The Path to Death.

In the corner of this path has a fountain that dissipates all fatigue, the only one of this stage. I don't know why it's there but people say that it's so to reduce the numbers of players. I know what you're thinking, but putting human greed in consideration, it's a good plan by the Gods.

People would try and own the fountain and kill unsuspecting players that would try to drink the fountain. Unguarded, the people that owns the fountain would stab them in the back.

Why kill new players with no extraordinary items and loot, you ask? Well, it's because killing players would gain them points, and killing new players with no experience in killing makes things easier. You can say the players who owns the fountains are rather experienced in their previous lives. Murderers, Soldiers, you name it.

Leon stood by close to the corners, where the people are waiting and hiding.

"How about testing this new eye." Leon muttered as he steadily closed his eyes and chanted a name.

[Death's Eyes!]

Leon opened as his eyes turned that of a golden tint as it formed that of an old clock. With two of the clock's hands present. The long one seems to moving like a normal clock and the short one was pointing at a roman numeral one (I).

The other roman numerals seems to be missing with one as the exception. This must be what the 1/12 parts meant. With the numeral one, it can see the intentions and hatred of a person. I don't know what the long hand of the clock means, but if Leon was to think, it would be the remaining time he could use it.

Everything became see through in Leon's eyes as what stood out was four people in a transparent form with black clouds oozing from their chest. That must be their intent and Leon was sensing it wasn't a good intent either. It was danagerous, to say the least.

Now Leon knows how many enemies there is and where they are hiding. It must be dumb of them to hide in corners. Weird, with that, they can be easily seen.

Taken from Royal Road, this narrative should be reported if found on Amazon.

"Is that an Assassin's skill?" Leon muttered as he theorized that maybe this eye can also see through enemy camouflage. If that's the case, then his eyes are overpowered.

Leon opened his palm and pointed it at the corner as a yellow-ish orb came out of his hands, floating and steadily getting bigger, until it got to the size of a golf ball.

"In my previous life, I excelled at light magic. It seems to be the case here too."

[Flashing Orb]

Leon blurted out a name as the yellow-ish orb launched to the corner of the path. It was just momentary silence as the orb suddenly expanded and the light that it was producing turned into that of something that can blind your eyes. Leon rushed through the enemies as the people who was in hiding suddenly appeared out of nowhere.

"As expected, it was an Assassin's invisibility." Leon thought as he sheathed out his sword. With a slash from left to right, it was over in a minute. Blood came out from their bodies as they dropped dead on the cold, bloody floor.

Leon slashed his sword in the air, getting rid of the blood that was sticking into the sword. Leon sheathed his sword back as he looked back at the corpses.

Leon was expecting a staff since he was a mage. A staff would ease his formation of magic and be more faster at attacking. Earlier, that was too slow and even if a simple staff was to be in Leon's hands, it would benefit him greatly. Although there was no mage among them, he did found a mask.

A mask that was covering only the mouth and nose. It was a black mask that had small tubes coming out from the side for ventilation. It seems a little fashionable but hiding his identity was part of his plan, so maybe hiding his face can help.

He doesn't want people to know who he is, even if his name is different but his face is oddly similar to his previous life. Looking at the fountain's reflection. He was in his 20s, with curly brown hair and blue eyes. What's odd about his face is that he has a small mole on his left eye. Something he previously don't have.

"So, this isn't me? Or do I not remember having a mole here?" Leon was in conflict of himself, "No, of course I don't have this once. So that means..."

Leon was looking at two paths — a path where he is back in time or a path that he is reborn. Then what time is this? He was more certain he was not back in time as his first comrade wasn't there and long-nosed guy wasn't there either. Leon needs to go to the 1st floor to confirm it.

Leon has always been siding with the second path; but without evidence, he couldn't approve if it was true. Maybe it was an alternate timeline, anything is possible in this tower. That's why he took the initiative to hide his face and name, that maybe someone does know him. He doesn't even know if this is the past or future; or maybe he's in the same timeline by himself.

What he does know is to only trust himself.

Leon sighed as he drank a mouthful of the fountain's water. It was hanging on the wall and it was producing water like a small waterfall, like a drinking fountain of some sort. He felt his fatigue disappearing so as he finished drinking, he wore the mask that he got. He also found a water skin, so he could put some of the fountain's water in case of emergency.

Somewhere in the tower, an orb was floating. Like a security camera, it was showing a screen that has Leon in it, covering his face. In the corner, a man was watching, with only his short but thick beard showing.

【To think he would hide his face. Smart move little Leon. Now, the entertainment me more!】
