Alice slammed her fist into the wyvern's throat. They have long throats, wyverns, and Alice had small human hands. An onlooker would have laughed as the fragile schoolgirl slugged the oversized lizard with scales the thickness of steel plates.
The onlooker would have stopped laughing, however, when they saw the blood.
The air around Alice's fist became a mist of red as her fist cracked through the wyvern's scales as if they were chalk. Red wet raced through the cracks as Alice drove her hand deeper and deeper into the creature's throat. Her hand became a scalpel as the wyvern howled with fire and fury.
With one flap of its enormous wings, the wyvern took to the sky. Alice did not let go. The ground below waved goodbye, and her phone fell out of her skirt's oversized pocket.
"Nooooo!" Alice shouted, her eyes widening with alarm. It was no exaggeration to say that small rectangular box was her life. She watched it spin gracelessly towards certain death.
The wyvern was oblivious to Alice's horror as it labored to flap its heavy wings. Its neck was leaking blood like a faucet. It tried to shake itself free of Alice, but she was not so easily tossed.
With one hand lodged deep in the wyvern's snake-like neck, Alice started to swing her body back and forth. She would have looked like a gymnast as she swung her body in a semicircle with all the force of a rocket. Her feet landed on the creature's scaly neck. She braced herself impossibly against the flying creature.
For one horrifying moment, it looked as if Alice was going to fall as she withdrew her hand from the wyvern's neck. Her feet started to float away, and her mother would no doubt have fainted if she had been an onlooker down below.
In the next breath, however, Alice shot out and grabbed hold of the creature with both hands. With an impossible amount of force, Alice slammed her feet hard against the creature's back.
The tale has been illicitly lifted; should you spot it on Amazon, report the violation.
The wyvern's effortless soar came to an abrupt end. It was as if the winged creature had crashed into a brick wall. The geyser of blood from its neck formed a small lake a hundred feet in the air.
"I am not buying another phone!" Alice shouted as she performed an act that defied Newton's First, Second, and Third Law of Motion.
The sleeves of her black school uniform ripped and tore as muscles flared in her arms like an inflatable Santa Claus. Grotesque veins raced up and down her body quite unbefitting a senior at All Saints All Girls All the Time High School.
Hundreds of feet up in the air...
Standing precariously on the back of an oversized gecko...
...Alice clenched the creature's neck and, the pulsating muscles of her arms screaming out, huuuuuuurled the creature back down to the ground.
The street below erupted in a plume of smoke. Bits of concrete smashed into parked cars, and soon a cacophony of alarms cried out in despair.
When the dust cleared, the wyvern did not move. Its snakish form was covered in blood and cracked scales, but it did not so much as twitch. Alice sat on its exposed belly, frantically wiping dust away from her phone.
"Thank goodness..." Alice hugged the small rectangular box to her chest. "The screen isn't cracked..."
She hopped off the creature's belly and straightened her skirt. Car alarms continued to blaze merrily all around her. The street and several houses had all been destroyed.
"The fuck kind of bird was that..." Alice grumbled. She kicked the scaled monstrosity several times. The violence brightened her mood, but only slightly. "How am I going to explain any of this to- "
Her words were interrupted by a faint sound. It somehow broke through the relentless chorus of wounded vehicles around her.
Claaap.
Claap.
Clap.
A man sat slouched atop the crumbled ruins of a house. He wore all black. Black socks, black shoes, black cloak. He did not seem to be wearing any pants, so Alice could see that he also wore black underwear.
"Veeeery impressive!" Black Underwear said. He stopped clapping his black-gloved hands and rose. He slouched forward and sniggered into one hand. "Buuuuut you were supposed to die..."
Black Underwear leapt down from the ruined home. He landed weightlessly on the street below. His posture remained low and slouched as he smiled brightly. His messy hair was jet black as were both of his eyes.
"I can fiiiiiiiix that, though."
