Kervet, the Oathkeeper
Saveruch 20th, 822

Saveruch 20th, 822

Today, I spent hours just looking into the flames of my campfire. It is a particularly cold day. My mind wandered to memories of my time in the keep. I remembered making my oath candle. You are supposed to mix your tears with the wax and mold it while speaking your oaths. I had plenty of tears to pour in the wax. Some were related to my love for Aisha, some to the sorrow of killing her, and some to my wish to uphold my oaths so they are not tainted anymore by her death. Of course, such a wish is impossible to fulfill. All the same, the flame of my candle was bright, and a small promise of hope hovered above it. At that moment, I felt something resembling peace, it was only a second, yet I can spend hours inspecting it, trying to hide in it.
