Rebirth 2: God has descended

As time trickled by, Ishikki's panic gradually subsided. Kenji, growing increasingly anxious, checked Haru's pulse to ensure he was still alive, as he hadn't regained consciousness yet. Suddenly, a chilling noise echoed from beyond the room—a metallic chain grating against the floor, accompanied by ponderous footsteps that came to a halt at the door. The door creaked open, revealing a man who surveyed the room. His gaze settled on a girl, whom he violently seized by the neck, delivering a brutal blow to her head. Ishikki and Kenji, weakened by their injuries and blood loss, could only watch in horrified paralysis.

The man then dragged the girl out of the room. Across from them, two young captives, their eyes wide with terror, made a desperate rush towards Kenji. They were just children, held captive in this nightmarish place.

After the man left, there were horrifying sounds outside the room. The cries of pain and a disturbing noise echoed through the walls. When the man returned, he was covered in blood, wielding a kitchen knife. He took another child, and the gruesome cycle repeated. As the room emptied, Kenji, unable to bear the suffering, made a desperate choice and ended his own life by biting his own tongue. Ishikki, witnessing his friend being dragged out of the room unable to do anything and as he looked at his left, he saw his friend kenji with blood coming from his mouth and is no longer breathing. He felt a profound sense of helplessness. His life had always been peaceful, but now he faced unimaginable horror.

Ishikki's mind unraveled, consumed by rage and despair. "You humans think you're all that great," he seethed, venom dripping from his words. "You greedy insects, I'll make sure you'll pay for everything." His laughter became manic, echoing off the walls. Finally, he collapsed into himself, a broken figure, desperately mumbling, "God, angels, demons, I don't care, just save my friends. Take everything from me, just give their lives back." And then, in the depths of his despair, Ishikki succumbed to unconsciousness.

Ishikki's consciousness returned abruptly as he was dragged along by the man. A mirthless laugh escaped him. "What a cruel joke. Everything we've been taught to believe, it's all just a lie to escape the harsh reality, a false sense of salvation for us all."

As the man attempted to secure Ishikki to the table, he mustered every ounce of strength left in his injured arm, driving it into the man's eye. The assailant's cries of pain and panic echoed in the room. Seizing the opportunity, Ishikki twisted his right foot, the only one still restrained, and managed to break free from the chains. He fled from the room, leaving the man writhing on the floor in agony.

Blinded by fury, Ishikki limped through the hallway, his twisted foot causing him excruciating pain. The gruesome sight of dismembered bodies only fueled his rage. Among the horror, he recognized his friend's face, sending a surge of anger through him.

Without a second thought, he charged back into the room. The man, now blinded and writhing on the floor, was defenseless. Ishikki seized the knife and unleashed a torrent of blows, each strike a release for his pent-up anguish, until a twisted sense of relief washed over him.

Ishikki, now fueled by an unfamiliar surge of power, emerged from the desolate building. It stood hidden among the woods, a silent witness to the horrors he had endured. As he stepped into the open, he raised his gaze to the canvas of the starlit night sky, the universe seemingly laid bare before him. He settled onto the ground, deep in contemplation, his thoughts intertwining with the constellations above.

In a sudden revelation, Ishikki now understood everything, he then felt an extraordinary command over every single cell within him. He seized this newfound control, directing it towards self-preservation. Humans possess a latent ability for regeneration, though rudimentary. Yet, for Ishikki, a brilliant mind wielding mastery over his very cellular structure, the boundaries of possibility extended far beyond. With focused intent, he set about the miraculous feat of regenerating his severed limb.
