“Sure took their sweet ass time leaving. I’ll deal with their cruddy asses later…" King gloated, "You ready for this, Jawny bo-”

With a near instant jab, a smoggy jet of Shadow consumed the island, forcing King into a swift defense and firing off the beginning of the battle. “I see, I see! Was it the mother joke that pissed you off? If that’s all it took then lemme tell ya, you're gonna have a stroke during this!” King bellowed with an eager grin on his face.

In retaliation, Blassadahl stomped a summoning circle beneath his feet and raised him skyward on a grand golden pillar. He blocked a second blast of Shadow with Gold casted at his left palm before spreading numerous circles across the island. Frequent explosions of darkness rippled as Jawn utilized his umbra mind to enhance his movement, meeting shards of gold erupting from spontaneous magic rings forming from the ground. “Pick up the pace, pick it up!” King cackled, bulleting a flurry of golden shards at the man from a wildly spinning gold symbol.

Jawn, unchanging of his serious demeanor, brought about his dark ring. He swayed his left hand before him, catching all of the shards in a dense blackness and flicking his right hand toward King, deflecting them all back. King, mildly surprised, paused for a moment before returning himself and swatting away the shards.

“Oh,” King staggered, “You’re better than I anticipated! Never thought a Shadow flinger could be worth a damn–”

Shadow chains wrapped around King’s neck and strangled him. King, instinctively, tried to grab the dark leash, but each attempt resulted in his hands phasing through it, yet the dark chain kept a powerful hold of him. As his face shifted blue and his eyes reddened through suffocation, the appendage whipped him around, slamming him into stone and tree. King jittered madly and his lungs cried out! So with a desperate flick, an ingot flew, causing the appendage to drop him as the admiral evaded the attack. King fell to his hands and knees. His body struggled to bring in oxygen as his heavy coughs and hock-ups of blood simultaneously. He faced his left to where the admiral stood, meeting a hand grasping a shadow magic circle, grabbing his face and covering his mouth.

Darkness wasted no time to fill his head, causing the sky and sea to appear as if it was experiencing an earthquake of levels unprecedented to mankind, and shifting his vision into a gloomy gray. His eyes swelled and darkness overrode the sclera, turning them in void looking orbs. His veins soon followed suit, beginning to bulge all around his body and turn a nasty black. Abruptly, the world’s incessant and increasingly violent shaking came to a stop when an ear grating, skin-crawling crunch cracked the wind. Blood spilled on hand as teeth and the bottom half of a jaw was sent fleeing in the wind. King was once again on the ground catching his breath with his fist reinforced in gold knuckles stained with red, but behind him was the admiral pouring crimson from the mouth. Jawn eyed his lower jaw a distance from him for a moment. His heart raced and he began to pant hard but quickly he remembered his position. He gathered himself and revealed his first mind: Life.

The green ring dazzled fantastically, repairing his suffered damage and regenerating his lower jaw to perfection. King upped to his feet, nearly tripping underneath the weight of his previous tortures. Jawn turned to the wounded Blassadahl, who was wobbling. They eyed each other down, with Jawn retaining his critical aura and Blassadahl panting like a dog. After a second cloaked itself for minutes, King smirked ever so slightly, earning another black rope around his neck before his lips could finish the mocking upwards stretch of the lips. But contrary to before, the admiral was struggling to fling Blassadahl like a doll as he had done so easily before.

King grew a dastardly smile at the realization and fired aggressively at Onfroy. He sent many weaker projectiles but increased their numbers exponentially until he was released. He then raised his arm and conjured a high-velocity rotating Gold casting circle. From out it spewed thousands of golden debris that ejected into the air. He then ended the ejection and formed a protective barrier above himself with a single hand as the mess rained down. Jawn casted his own barrier out of Shadow using both of his hands to strengthen it. “Ahahaha! I see it now, Jawny boy, I-see-it-now!” King howled and charged the admiral.

His hands enhanced with glistening Gold and jabbed Onfroy in the abdomen before following with a two piece, breaking the admiral’s ribs. With a swift kick reinforced with Gold to the upper torso, King caved in Jawn’s chest with enough force to snap the spine. But the admiral would not fall. Instead, he released a great expelling of Shadow, launching Blassadahl and the shards aloft. Jawn collapsed to the sand and stained it red. He dropped the heavy overcoat from himself and lifted his damaged shirt, revealing a huge bruise at his abdomen and a deep cave of mashed organs and shattered bone. He sent another spell, healing himself, causing King to smile in accomplishment despite being struggling to stay on foot.

“You really thought your dark magic tricks could stand up to my glorious golden glory? Especially after using all that energy to fix your dilapidated ass. Oh, please! Don’t disrespect me like that ever again! It takes more energy the tougher the entity that’s healed up, right? Keep this up and you’re gonna start hitting like a tantruming toddler!"

Jawn cracked his neck and stretched. This guy… He's an annoying ass but his battle intuition, strength, and speed is incredibly dangerous. Still superior to Naitol in every way… weird to be thinking of that guy at a time like this. I hope that isn’t my mind going crazy to signify me being on the brink of death… I'm going to have to stay far from him. He is dangerous from afar but up close is where his strength really shines. This guy is a brawler and I can't keep using my Healing or else I won't have the strength to put him down. I'm going to have to stay at a distance. The ships should drift away… but if they don't, I hope they can hold out when I do this.

Onfroy dashed backwards on a Shadow ejection spell, pushing himself far into the ocean. As he sank, he observed King, who stood visibly confused by the bizarre action. Jawn raised his hands above the water and clapped, causing tremendous shaking of the sea as a sky-consuming Shadow circle formed in the sky. From it came a behemoth ball of black that caused a sort of eclipse as it blocked the sun. The huge sphere dropped from above, falling straight into the ocean, but causing not even a single ripple. Instead, it fell straight through the water and brought light back to a newfound silence. But after mere seconds of silence, the water began to cave out as the black sphere became a huge, hollow dark pillar at the center of the ocean, leaving behind several hundred feet of exposed seabed as the water was held back by Shadow. The island at the center sat way high above, appearing as a mountain in a way.

I should be able to put this rotted lump of shit down now. If he rushes me, the landscape is open enough for me to get the advantage by spreading my Shadow even greater, and I have more room to move around. His Gold may be faster than the magic typically is, but still it’s manageable. In fact, it should be easier to evade now if his injuries cause his magic to be slower. But assuming he somehow manages to close the gap, I’ll just have to use a burst-

Once beside him was a hammerhead, once flopping about the sands in waterless despair. Now, a man sized golden shard took its place. Jawn glanced back up to the new mountain and rolled right instinctively as a second one nearly made him headless.

“What’s the matter, Jawny-boy?!” King mocked, freeing himself of his battered and torn overcoat, “Was my little pixie dust I sent back all you could redirect? Is me putting in just a bit more effort into my attacks too much for you to handle? Remember, I promised that I’d piss you off during this scuffle and I intend to stay true to my word!”

Shining above his skyward facing palm was a tiny casting. It rose to the sky and grew exponentially and soared until it lined above Jawn, following his every step. “Seeing as you went out of your way to put this on my list of most inconvenient days I’ve ever endured, I believe it’s safe to assume you’re a lowdown, dirty son of a bitch and likely drink piss. So, I named an attack after your favorite activity you freaky fucker. Accept this gift made just for you, Mr. Admiral: Golden Shower!”

By the hundreds, large golden debris fell from the circle in the sky, sending sand aloft as the chunks collided with the ground. Jawn groaned with irritation and outstretched his left arm as he ran along the inner shadow cylinder as glistening doom tracked him from above

I am not at all surprised that he is the type of guy to title his attacks… Seems like he’s projecting here… God this guy pisses me off, reminds me of Balton but far more narcissistic with absolutely no positive qualities to compensate… I can’t wait to bury this ass muncher myself… Remember to keep your cool so your mind stays clear. One step at a time.

With his extended arm, Onfroy seeped microscopic strings that came from the tiny magic circle casted from a single finger. They were nearly invisible to the naked eye. The strings dug into the sand below and made their way to and in the mountain. They traveled up the sand peak, pushing away single grains of sand as they breached the top. They wrapped around King’s ankles and gripped tightly. “This again, huh? You’re too weak to try and fling me around anymore, son!” King shouted, building a shining golden omen of another attack in his right arm.

“I wasn’t going to,” Jawn said, dragging King down into the sand.

On the same hand Jawn snapped middle finger and thumb, sending static charges through the Shadow string and causing a massive bolt of lightning to strike and outline the mountain. The landscape flashed black numerous times before the titanic, tumultuous bolt eventually ceased. The Gold magic circle above dropped its final chunk of debris as it faded into nothingness, allowing Jawn to stop for a breather.

“Seems to have done what it needed… Hopefully that was enough to contain him, it took a lot of my strength. Still, I should conclude the mission with a cautious investigation,” Onfroy uttered to himself, pacing to the rise of sand and launching himself atop it on a propulsion of Shadow.

He trodden lightly across the former island, stopping just before a massive, steaming glass floor. He stared down into the glass, discovering the true depths his bolt reached. It definitely went far deeper than the seafloor. And at last, to his great relief, a humanoid figure frozen in its dark depths: King Blassadahl. “You really chose this way, King,” Jawn spoke. “But I can’t bring myself to sympathize with you. Matter of fact, I can’t bring myself to care. Good riddance.”

Jawn casted one more spell, slowly absorbing the thick shadow mist that kept the ocean at bay, allowing the water to gradually return to its natural state. As the refilling concluded, King’s golden frigate emerged from the great plumes. It sailed to the devastated island in the unsettled, rocking waters. One of his trainees, John, was at the wheel. The lot watched on in a stun as annihilated, black-burnt palm trees laid splattered on the island. Soon enough, barking from the ship filled the juxtaposing quietness and it grew louder as the first to leap off the ship was Haki, who immediately charged Onfroy and began gnawing at his ankles. Instead of cutting down the bold canine, Jawn stared down the dog sternly with great irritation. The canine’s aggressive demeanor soon became fear and caused her to whimper as her raised ears flopped. She trotted over to the glass and sniffed it. She placed a paw onto the glass, jumping back immediately with a brief cry. Haki sniffed the glass from the sand and circled it a few times before resting on the sand surrounding the glassy floor. Jawn’s attempts at keeping a stern demeanor eventually fell into a frown. Now you, dog… you’re someone I can empathize with, even if what you mourn is nothing but a toxic clump of waste.
