Kanta leaned back in his seat, tilting it so the two front legs of the chair lifted off the ground. One arm rested lazily on the back of his chair while the other gestured as he spoke.
"You should've told me you lost your wallet and train pass. I wouldn't have lost my supposed risk-free bet," he said. "Seriously though, in this day and age, why are you still using a physical train pass? You've got the newest iPhone—use it for something useful."
"Yeah, try convincing my dad. He says physical passes are more reliable." Kim chuckled, leaning back as well, as if he was used to Kanta's teasing and had long since stopped taking it too seriously.
"By the way, have you found your wallet?"
"No, I checked the lost-and-found, but nothing. I think I lost it at the cafeteria yesterday."
"If you dropped your wallet at the cafeteria by accident, it would've been found already." Kanta let the chair drop forward with a loud thud, the front legs slamming onto the floor as he straightened up, his eyes narrowing as if he was piecing something together.
"Meaning..." Kim said, looking directly at Kanta.
"Meaning it wasn't an accident," Kanta replied, his tone matter-of-fact.
Kanta leaned closer, his voice dropping to a whisper, "Got your iPad with you?"
Kim blinked, then nodded. "Yeah. Why?"
"Give it here," Kanta said, retreating back to his seat. "And move closer." He signaled his friends, gesturing for Lada and Tanya to join in. The two girls exchanged curious glances before making their way over.
As Kanta spoke, Kim, Lada, and Tanya moved in closer, curiosity written on their faces. Kim quickly handed over the iPad to Kanta and pulled his chair closer, his eyes on the screen. Lada stood to Kanta's right, her hands resting lightly on the desk, while Tanya was next to Lada, positioning herself to get a clear view. The three friends formed a tight half circle around Kanta.

Kanta opened the web browser, typing quickly. His fingers moved with confidence, as if he had done this a thousand times before. The screen flickered, and a login page appeared. Kanta entered a username and password, and then, suddenly, multiple videos from different angles of the school cafeteria filled the screen.
"What—how?" Lada gasped, her eyes widening. All four of them stared at the screen, the surveillance footage playing in real-time.
"You guys know the bald danger?" Kanta asked.
"The vice headmaster?" Kim said.
Kanta nodded. "Yeah, that guy. He's a pedophile. Got CCTV installed all over the place. You see those smoke detectors in the cafeteria? They're not detectors—they're cameras."
"What?! Ew," Lada said, her face contorting with disgust.
"Wait, but what if there's a fire?" Kim asked, half-joking.
"We die," Kanta said, his eyes still on the footage. "Blame the pedophile."
"I'm never going to the cafeteria again," Tanya murmured, her voice quiet but firm.
Kanta gave her a smirk. "And you think the cafeteria is the only place with spy cams?"
"Oh my god," Lada yelped, her hands flying to her chest, covering herself instinctively. Her face turned a shade paler, her eyes darting nervously around the classroom as if she expected to find another camera hidden nearby.
"Quiet," Kanta hissed, gesturing for her to calm down. "It's okay. He doesn't have the balls to put cameras in places you'd really want privacy. Just the cafeteria and the hallways."
He glanced at Lada's chest, just inches away from his face, and smirked. "By the way, you're safe. Not his type."
"Ew," Lada said, her hands still on her chest, her face showing clear disgust.
Kim said casually, "But how do you have access to these cameras?"
Kanta grinned, his eyes glinting with mischief. "Long story short. The guy's an idiot. He uses the same username and password everywhere. That's how I got access, and, well, that's how I know his, uh, preferences."
"Ew," Lada repeated, louder this time.
Kanta quickly navigated through the footage, his eyes scanning the videos until he paused on one. The video showed yesterday's lunch break; the cafeteria was crowded, full of students bustling around. In the middle of the frame, Kim was among the crowd. They watched as someone bumped into Kim—quick, almost deliberate—and a wallet was taken in the process.
"Ichida," Kanta said, his voice dripping with disdain.
"It's Ichida. I should have known," Kim muttered.
"So, what’s the plan? Report him?" Lada frowned, crossing her arms.
Kanta looked up at Kim. "Do you want your wallet back?"
"I do. Not a lot of money in it, but all the cards and other things," Kim nodded.
"Then we're gonna ask him nicely," Kanta said with a sly smile.
Lada shot him a skeptical look. "Nicely? And how exactly are we supposed to do that?"
Kanta leaned back, his eyes glinting mischievously. "I'm gonna make an offer he can't refuse."
