Basira sat by the side of the wall, his head dropped low, motionless. His breathing was barely discernible, he gazed at the wall above him. It was bloodied, cracked, and caked with blood, he really can’t die no matter what he did.
He grabbed onto his head and smacked it over and over and over, letting out a cry as he did before slumping onto the ground and staring at the ceiling, his arms sprawling across the ground.
It felt like a nightmare, he had killed his own mother, the only one who had cared for him all that time. His cheeks had completely dried up, leaving a black mark streaming down his face.
This emptiness was familiar, too familiar.
He didn’t know what to do, as immobile as a rock, laying on the ground. A ding rang in his ears as he turned to look at the monitor manifested beside him.
[Congratulation mighty hero, you have attained the rights for the activation of the [Epic] system. Now is the time for you to rise and grasp fate by the hand and create your Epic.]
He stared at the monitor mindlessly, what’s the point? The only person he had loved was gone, he was now an immortal monster. A monster that killed his own mother, Basira gritted his teeth at the thought, so hard that they cracked and shattered.
Writhing from the pain of his teeth shattering, he could feel them as they were slowly, painfully pushed out to make room for new teeth. Apparently immortality did not mean that it would not be painless.
Another ding echoed out once again, and another monitor manifested in front of him.
“Leave me the ALONE.” He shouted, teeth flying across the room. dropped on the floor hugging his knee, the monitor still remaining in the air.

The monitor is so fucking bright, with a sigh he looked to read what was on the monitor that the damned ‘system’r, and his jaw dropped, the final tooth falling down on the ground.
Within that monitor lay his mother, levitating in a large crystal. At the top was the title
[first epic: filial piety]
He jolted from the ground, running towards the monitor to read the full text of this ‘epic’, and fell face first on the ground, the chains that were tied to his leg had tripped him.
Anger, that was an emotion that Basira rarely ever felt, even in his previous life, he was always somewhat of a calm and collected type, though most would consider him depressive and introverted.
He had believed himself to be able to handle most situations.
Well, that didn’t happen today, as he furiously yanked the chain out from the ground in a fit of rage. The sound of chain breaking was loud and deafening, quickly he got up and returned to the monitor, reading things now with manic eyes.
When our hero had awoken his cursed-blessed blood, he, in his madness had devoured his own mother. In his sadness, he vowed to do everything in his power to bring her back, thankfully, he had not just devoured her flesh. But her soul as well, sealing her within his heart. Now he will go on a great journey, through many trials and tribulations to bring her back.
When he was done, he could feel his heart beating violently, his breath grew deep as he closed his eyes taking in the word that he had read.
“13 years, wasted.” His fist clenched as they drew blood, his eyes filled with clarity.
“no more,” he muttered, locking his gaze at the monitor, he called out the system and another screen manifested on the right side of the monitor, linked to it like a hinge. Its five attributes now glow with white light, a ding rang out once again, displaying another panel.
