Green visages of blurred foliage go past me. I feel a pain inside my gut. My lungs ache for air. The darkness is contrasted with skylights of moonlight in the canopy and in the distance the setting sun behind the mountain. It is hard to keep this pace. The footing gets increasingly difficult as the meandering roots penetrate the ground and then resurface making small places to trip. The only relief is when there are small dirt patches in between the roots for even the grass works against me. It is slick with the afternoon shower of rain. I feel my body get heavier and heavier. My limbs are getting harder to move slowly degrading my posture. I don't think I can keep this up.
I trip. No... My body summer slats then rolls like a barrel upon the ground hitting rock and tree in every which way. The pain comes. I can feel the blood dribble down my shin. My arm is numb but I can see from where my face lays upon the ground due to the moonlight illumining my body. I must have hit a broken stub on a tree. Dirt is in my eyes and my body reacts by tearing up. It obfuscates my vision.
My cloths are torn and have bits of blood soaked in. I try to get up and notice my stomach looks bruised and bleeding. I look up seeing the last bits of the setting sun disappear behind the mountain. A deep cold that penetrates your body seeps in. I fell upon a relatively flat rock. Feeling my limbs ache while my body heat escapes me as if it is trying to complete my journey for me. I hear the clang of metal due to movement and boots. That is the last I want to hear in nature. The brush rustles being parted near where I lay. Shadowy figures emerge from the edge of my vision. Then I hear it; Laughter. The laughter that you hear when you see misfortune befall upon enemy; the laughter where you bellow when you see pain inflicted upon those you loathe.

“Stupid. Did you think you could out run us?" more laughter erupts from the feminine voice.
“We are soldiers of the Imperial Army" piped in the masculine voice. “We have fought longer then you have been alive, boy."
I feel a swift impact on my side turning my body and face towards the moon. I hear more laughter. Humanoid shadowy silhouettes appear on my all my flanks. I can't make out the details of them due to the tears in my eyes.
“I'll enjoy giving you to the torturers" Said a male voice.
“I wonder what kind it will be there are so many" said a female gleefully. “I personally enjoy seeing them scream while they are slowly lowered onto heated metal spikes."
My eyes slowly close due to the fatigue. I see white smiles on the heads of the shadowy silhouettes slowly draw near. My eyes close. In the darkness with my eyes close I can see their smiles and hear their laughter. The nightmare called life has started and it doesn't look like its going to end anytime soon.
