‘Person Not Found’
‘Alright, let’s try Sunny0120’ Zen mutters into a thin grey stone with a single symbol etched into the middle of it.
The symbol glows bright blue for a few seconds and the light vanishes as a robotic voice comes from the stone:
‘Person Not Found’
Zen throws the rock at the ground as it bounces on the ground and lands a few feet in front of him, ‘C’mon Tsuna why is your username so unnecessarily long??? I know it’s “Sunny” and 4 numbers but what is it? I’ve been at it for 2 hours!!!!’
‘I’m mad at Tsuna’s name but I don’t even want to mention that the Traveler’s Stone is given at level 1, and nobody uses it to communicate in-game cause people have phones to call each other!’
*GRROOOOWWLLL*
Grabbing his stomach, Zen picks up the Traveler’s Stone and puts it in his pocket, ‘I don’t understand my situation, I thought this was a videogame but how am I hungry’
In the open fields, the horses and cows that were out before are being corralled in fences next to the log cabins by the people of the small town. Everything looks like it is perfectly normal, they don’t give Zen a second look as children are playing outside laughing and giggling.
‘They aren't even a little bit disturbed with a person just talking to himself in the middle of a road. But I gotta get something to eat but I don’t know if they will allow me to take some cows.’
Zen starts walking towards the nearest cabin, ‘No point in overthinking, maybe it’ll give me a quest.’ A figure darts in the corner of Zen’s eyes in the direction of an open field.
Zen turns to see a white rabbit with brown spots over its eyes hopping through the field, nibbling on the long grass. He winces as he slowly walks following the rabbit, he makes his way closer and closer to the creature.
The rabbit’s ears twitch and turn in Zen’s direction as in hops further away but not showing any sign of running away.
With his hands inches from the nape of the bunny, Zen takes one more step with a loud *Crunch* The grass crunches under Zen’s feet causing the rabbit to make a run for it.
The rabbit moves at full speed trying to lose Zen. Determined to get the rabbit, Zen starts changing the rabbit and notices that he can actually match the rabbit’s pace as he is right behind it reaching out and barely missing it.
‘I was never able to run this fast before. Is it the adrenaline from the changes?’
The rabbit makes a sharp turn causing Zen to trip and he tumbles through the dirt landing face down. He pushes himself quickly as he sees the rabbit looking back at him.
Zen smiles and yells, ‘You think you won you sly stupid fuzzball?!?’ Zen takes off his shoe and throws it in the direction of the creature.
To much of Zen’s surprise the shoe zipped through the air at a high-speed hitting the rabbit right in the side as it fell over. ‘I’m starting to understand that this body isn’t just for looks, I definitely have barbaric strength.’
Zen makes his way to his shoe and, more importantly, the rabbit. He comes over to see the rabbit on its side still breathing. He picks up the rabbit by the back of the neck, ‘Maybe those people can cook this for m….’
A fist hits Zen right in the face sending him flying through the field. The rabbit starts trembling as its body gets bigger and develops features no befitting of a rabbit.
The rabbit is now a tall humanoid figure with long human arms and legs and a blank white face and very long rabbit ears, the two brown spots are the face where its eyes would be if it had any.
Zen gets up holding his now swollen cheek as he looks at the monstrosity before him.
‘Is that actually Adapt-o-Rabbit?’, Zen says exasperated his mouth dropped wide open. Zen drops down to hide in the long grass
Adapt-o-Rabbits, or A.R. for short, are a very popular creature throughout the world of Legacy, they were found in the rural areas of the countries, and it was an excellent training partner for a low-level player. Adapt-o-Rabbits judge a player’s strength by engaging with them, with enough knowledge they will transform in one of three forms: Strength Form, Speed Form, and Tank Form. Each form increases certain aspects of the creature and is a nuisance to any player fighting it.

The A.R. speaks in a monotone almost robotic voice, ‘[Strength Form Technique]: Seismic Jump’ The A.R. lifts its foot and brings it down with a loud *THUD* as the whole field shakes, blasting it straight in the air easily 100 feet up.
The A.R. scans the surroundings coming across Zen’s figure, the creature lands back down and zips towards the hiding Zen suddenly appearing behind him’
‘It’s a game, it’s just a game’ Zen pulls out his dagger with his hands trembling, he takes a deep breath and slashes with the dagger.
The A.R. dodges effortlessly and punches Zen straight in the stomach
Gritting his teeth, Zen stays in place, unmoved by the hit, hunched over as he starts throwing up, ‘*BLAARGHH* I am not gonna lose to a rabbit!!!’
Zen swings his arms wildly trying to get a hit off on the A.R.
The A.R. backs up out of range of Zen’s attacks and kicks him making him roll to the dirt path where Zen first appeared
‘This is not fair, there has to be a way I can use magic or some kind of special skill’
As soon as Zen utters the word ‘skill’ a light blue screen appears in front of his face that looks like some sort of pop-up screen he would see on his computer.
The screen reads:
Player Name: Kurama 5454
Level 1
Health: Low
Class: Barbarian
Basic Class Skills:
Unwavering (Active)*
Relentless (Active)*
Team Player (Passive)*
Zen stares at the screen not believing his eyes, ‘Is this voice activated? But what are these skills, this so much different from being a cleric.’ He looks at the asterisk next to the skill and looks over it for a second questioning what that could mean.
He reaches his hand out and taps the ‘Unwavering’, the screen shifts slightly:
Unwavering (Active)
Description: You become invincible as long as you keep hitting an enemy. The skill ends if you have not attacked an enemy for 2 seconds.
Cooldown: 30 minutes
‘This would be so OP if I was good at landing a single attack on that thing’ Zen quickly taps on the other skills:
Relentless (Active)
Description: Your damage increases slowly over time, but your health is also drained at the same rate. The longer the skill is active the more damage you do, and the more health is drained. Automatically deactivates when health is critical
Cooldown: 5 minutes
Team Player (Passive)
Description: When in a party, you and your party members gain a speed and strength buff of 10% per person
Cooldown: Always Active
Zen closes his eyes with his mind racing with many ideas, suddenly he hears the sound of grass crunching get closer and closer.
Zen smirks and opens his eyes, ‘What took you so long? This must be on easy mode.’ He reaches over and picks up the rusty axe he left behind earlier.
The bright blue screen disappears marking the start of Zen’s attack.
Zen runs full speed at the A.R. flailing his axe, he gets to the creature and swipes the weapon at its head.
The A.R. ducks under the attack and winds up a punch and the robotic voice starts up again, ‘[Strength Form Technique]: Seismic Punch 5-fold’
‘UNWAVERING!’
Zen’s body explodes with steam as he says the word and the A.R. lands the hit straight to Zen’s chest but he is unphased by the punch.
‘1 second’
Zen jumps and tackles the giant rabbit, putting one of his legs on the creature pinning it to the ground
‘2 seconds’ The steam dissipates from his skin
‘RELENTLESS!’
Punch! Punch! Punch!
Zen’s fists make contact with the A.R. with each hit being harder than the last, the ground underneath the two is turning into a crater with each punch making it deeper.
His hands meet the axe and Zen brings it down at the A.R.’s neck and its body stops moving
Blood splatters onto the axe and ground around the body. The overwhelming stench of the body hits Zen as he backs up.
Zen’s eyes widen as he shakes and drops the axe, ‘It’s just a game, why is there blood? In a game it makes sense to despawn anything that is dead to save storage and doesn’t crash the game.’
He falls to his feet both from exhaustion and shock. He winces in pain as his cheek and stomach stings,
‘And shouldn’t I have healed back up like normal after a while? What is this place, am I not just in the game? Did I kill…’
A figure makes its way behind Zen wearing a long white robe with blue seams throughout and the hood up hiding most of its face,
‘Damn NPC, why’d you ruin my perfect Adapt-o-Rabbit?’
Zen looks up with tears streaming down his face to see a towering creature with brown fur and large horns, one shaved to a dull point and a… cow’s face?
‘Is that a Minotaur?’
The Minotaur looks down at the A.R. and back to Zen and a smile stretches across its face, ‘Wanna join my party boy?’
