So you've probably noticed there hasn't been a post for over a month. I'm sorry. This is my bad. I'm going to try to explain a little bit why and what to expect going forward.

As a few of you have noticed, this story has a sort of major flaw in it. It starts off as one story and then changes into another story. I originally wanted to write a revenge isekai with a really serious and angry main character who goes through and slaughters his way through a world. And pretty much, after a little bit of introduction, he would be able to bounce back and forth between Earth and the other world with various constraints and eventually start basically a spy thriller, secret organization takedown.

I feel like that'd be really fun and fresh. I would love to read it. And I think I got off to a pretty good start... for about a chapter. As I started writing my character, I realized that this was not something I really wanted to write. Writing an angry character is difficult, and in order for me to write characters, I kind of need to go into their headspace.

I did not want to spend the entire time writing this story thinking about being angry and depressed. While that is great for small arcs in my stories, doing a full story that would span hundreds of chapters sounded really bad for my mental health. So subconsciously, I managed to start writing this story not that way, which completely betrayed the premise. I basically ended up with a standard isekai, which I was pretty happy with.

Honestly, I felt like the strength of the story was in the characters, and the fight scenes were good, but I forgot the inciting incident. You know, that big issue the story revolves around. So this means that this story in this iteration doesn't really have a place in continuing.

I either need to go back and change the inciting incident and continue the story as is with some other major motivation, which I haven't figured out yet, or I need to go in sort of restart the story from the beginning. I'm not sure when I will do either of those or if I will do either of them, but that will have to happen before the story makes any major progress.

I'm sorry, this is probably not what anyone who's survived this long and waited over a month wanted to hear. But it's all I've got for you, and I hope it's better than leaving it on eternal hiatus. Anyways, I appreciate you all giving this a read, and I will let you know on this story if I ever revive this in either form.
