Trial 5 - Nothing goes the way I want it to. [V]

May 7th, 212.

That happened exactly 2 years ago. A lot happened in these 2 years. We found that our earth became split into two areas more like 2 kingdoms. One was the humanity side and another one was still unknown territory to us. The only thing we knew about that it was ruled by monsters. The town I lived in was called Girgos. It was completely annihilated after that incident. Goblins poured out from everywhere eating up humans and destroying the surroundings. I am bold enough to say that I might be the only survivor of Girgos.

Later that incident of 2 years ago came to be known as the Hollow incident. Ever since then, the Chivalric Order became more prominent, and handled the affairs of the remaining survivors. While traveling and seeing the state affairs I stopped at what it seems to have become the new capital of the humanity's side. Startide. It currently almost everything built up for a human to survive. Entertainment district, Quarter district, Government district and lastly the Medical district. You could say that we were pretty much settled. But the fact that the world we once knew and lived in has definitely perished and seeing these monsters roam around surely feels like hell has descended upon us.

I don't know much about the other towns and countries of the humanity's side since I have travelled only to like 5 towns and they were all suffering from poverty. Only this town seems like lively.

I shoved a 3 piece of coins to the bartender and was about to leave as I saw a few customers harassing another lady bartender.

"Hey miss, how about you spend the night with us?"

"Yes, how about it, miss?"

"Umm, no…"

They were forcing on her. Spreading their hands around her and shoving her out of the bar. Most of the other customers as well the rest of the staff were quite about it. It can't be helped you know. In this wretched world, all people are alone to survive for themselves. No one can protect you in times of need. And it is expectable that Chivalric Order can't help us all the time.

I sighed, got up from my seat after finishing my drink, and intentionally bumped into the guy that was harassing the bartender. He fell down from the impact and everyone in the bar went silent. The bartender in the meantime took that chance to get behind me, and the two customers looked at me with disgust.

"Huh…you dare to push me, punk?"

"Sorry, I was drunk. I couldn't see you."

"You dare to lie too; I saw you were drinking soft drinks."

This fucker might be a ruffian but he had good sense even when drunk. Well, then it couldn't have been better. If he starts a mess up right now then it will be easier to explain my side of situation and that is what happened.

"Hey, Po. Let's fuck this kid first."

"I'm in."

They were approaching me slowly, exercising their hands and turning them into fists to attack me.

"Um, miss. You might want to step back for this."

"O-Okay…"

She stepped back and went to the other staff members. I twisted my head and put one hand on my pocket and started staring at them. The guy named Po, charged at me with his right fist but I dodged it easily and on the other side was the other guy and I simply dodged that by ducking down and backed off.

"That's all you got?"

"Ghh…"

That made them mad. And that was my plan. They charged straight at me blindly enraged, and I easily used that opportunity to turn tables. I kicked the Po guy in the guts and he fell and I chopped the other guy in the solar plexus and he fell unconscious. That was the end of this unnecessary feud. I looked back at the staff and said.

"Make sure they are handed to the Chivalric Order."

"Y-Yes!"

They all spoke in unison. I took out a cigarette and a lighter and took a smoke as I left the bar continuing my travels. I don't know where I am going and where I am supposed to go from here. If my mother's dying wish was for me to survive then survive shall I will.

Because, I don't have a will of mine after that day. That day, the life of Fujima Eiji died. I honestly don't know what to expect from life anymore. I just go with the flow in order to survive.

Soon after the incident at the bar, the Chivalric Order came at the bar to investigate.

"I heard that there was a commotion going on!?"

A lady mercenary came charging at the bar only to see the ruffians tied up and business going about as usual. Everyone looked at her awkwardly and she felt really embarrassed. She coughed to avoid the awkwardness and spoke up.

"Umm, what exactly happened here? Can anyone explain to me?"

"I can!"

A lady bartender raised her hand and explained the situation to her that a handsome black-haired boy saved her from these ruffians who was forcing her to leave the bar. She also added that it seemed like that boy had great combat prowess as his skills seemed solid as well as his hits. The lady mercenary nodded and told his men to take care of the ruffians. They took them away using a cart right away and she as well bid farewell from the bar.

"A black-haired boy with good combat prowess."

"Is something the matter, Leader?"

"Nothing. It's just that the description perfectly matches the description of the boy we got from the incident in Odin town."

"Do you think they are the same person?"

"Possibly."

They pondered on the thought as the sounds of the cart moving and horses grew louder. It was night time and the sky was full of stars. She stared at the sky and took out a cigarette to smoke. Then suddenly, the man beside him, spoke up.

"Leader, do you think it's that guy? The only survivor of the Hollow incident?"

"No way!!"

"But what if…"

"…"

"If it is true…Then we definitely need to recruit him to the Chivalric Order."

As they wondered about it, the night goes on.
