“Since the release of Galios, no one has taken the head of Zaun, the elite beginner boss!” The young warrior shouted midst the crowd.”
“The Heaven Slaughterer tried to do it, but even failing gives you experience. He went past level 10 on his first try!” A fat mage bellowed excitedly.
Skeleton Knight Zaun. The Elite Beginner Boss. 1st General of Belias.
“Mae has been training with the Heaven Slaughterer in-game. Even he says she will succeed!”
Media outlets swarmed the beginner village of Dalia and crowded the dungeon entrance. The more prestigious of them flying above the heads of the commoners on Striped Wyverns. VR:G definitely stood out as the top.
“Announcer Jin Lee, here! Mae, daughter of Tysin Group, has logged in for the first time!” The beautiful woman’s voice directed everyone’s eyes to the townsquare.
Cherry lips. Blood-red hair. Yellow eyes.
“O-Orc race!?”
With the exception of her green skin and extended molars, she looked as beautiful in real life.
“The orc race have the highest base strenth in Galios!”

“She’s really staking it all on this run! You can’t make a new character in Galios!”
The crowd became even rowdier at the north gate.
“T-The Heaven Slaughterer is here!”
“Even the Van the Vampire Hunter!”
Famous names in Galios appeared one after another. All the experts had tried at least once. But not a single shared their video as if it was precious material.
The Heaven Slaughterer walked towards her dragging a silver wolf with 1hp left.
“This will get you to level 9 and increase your chances.” His gentle masculine voice caused half the female players to faint from happiness.
“I don’t need it.” She reached out into thin air as a beginner blade materialized in her hand. Not sparing him a second glance, she walked past him towards the dungeon entrance. A path naturally formed as the crowd parted in two as leagues of men sneered towards the Heaven Slaughterer.
A lone sword pierced into the ground came into her view.
Zaun was sealed within his own blade with all his possessions, left to rot by the heroes. His power chipped away after centuries, his name dragged to dirt in the lore of Galios as the only general who could not escape the heroes. Whether he was captured or spared by the heroes remains a question in the lore, but that didn’t stop fans from speculating.
Mae was a huge of fan of the game. She too wondered what the reason was.
‘Whatever the reason...’ Her lips curled in contempt. ‘Now you are a mere shadow of your former self.’
She took out her scrying orb to show the battle live. Tysin Group had already sold the rights to VR:G.
Everyone opened theirs as well and tuned into the VR:G channel as her body materialized into the sword of Zaun.
She found herself in the throne room. The 8 skeleton guards she was supposed to fight were strewn across the floor. The back of the throne faced her as the knight sitting on it admired the red and gold banner of the demon army. The lone color in the entire room.
What caused her eyes to widen was the single number next to knight’s name.
Level 1.
She did not know if she triggered a special event or not. Her body reacted faster than her mind. She dashed at her quickest speed and leaped towards the knight.
[Would you like to be Mae’s pet?]
‘Hell no.’ Zaun pushed the [No] button. ‘I would never become some child’s pet.’ He had already sensed Mae’s presence. Blindness since birth had evolved his senses past the human limit.
Before the blade could strike his head from behind, he bent his neck slightly to the side dodging the blade completely. He grasped the young girl’s wrist and slammed her against the banner covered wall. Before she could stand up, he kicked a blade near the throne, piercing her abdomen completely. Without being unseated from the throne, he watched the girl’s eyes slowly dim with rage as her consciousness wavered. He immediately tossed his eyes back towards the colorful banner.
