Just past midnight, in a small apartment where the lights were still on, I was alone facing my computer. Eager for my new game, I started up my new game Divinity Original Sins 2. The Larian Studios logo flashed by as I skipped the introduction to be greeted by 6 characters on the loading screen.
Eager to just start the game with no experience or knowledge of the game, I quickly chose a single player with the hardest difficulty possible, tactician honor mode. A description appeared before me.
[Failure is not an option. Raise the stakes by limiting the already highly challenging Tactician Mode to a single save game. If your entire party perishes, the save game is erased and your quest is well and truly over!]
Prompted with one last warning screen I chose to continue with my decision. The game quickly transitioned to character creation screen, encompassing a variety of races and origin characters with their unique backgrounds. I chose to create my original character, a wheat-skinned human with long weaver-colored hair falling upon his shoulder. For his talents, I chose [Pet Pal] for the ability to converse with animals. The last detail of my character creation included tags that detailed the background of my character.
Stolen novel; please report.
Barbarian Jester Mystic Outlaw Scholar Soldier
With the limits to choosing 2/6 tags, I ended up choosing Soldier and Scholar.
Scholar- Intelligent and curious, your appetite for learning far exceeds your taste for bloodshed. Books and scrolls are your dearest possessions. Soldier- Trained in order, Obedience, and Warfare, you know the difference between a latrine and a lieutenant.
Ready to start the adventure I clicked done, thinking of my new character my vision faded to black.
