In the empty white void, a figure sat and stared at a game screen. Hamza was focused, and immovable. Observer sat beside him.
"Come on, don't just sit there like a lump of coal." Observer said. The clock counted down In the system
[2:00]
[1:59].
Hamza remained frozen, deep in thought, as the game clock counted down. Observer, sitting beside him, was growing increasingly impatient.
"You're a bore, you know that?" Observer said, trying to break Hamza's concentration. Observer was clearly bored from his antics. The clock on the screen was continuing down.
[1:55]
[1:53]
The timer was ticking but Hamza remained frozen and just stared at the screen. Even the system said something because this was so anticlimactic. Usually people would be drunk on power beyond their wildest dream but Hamza just found inner peace somehow. His gaze was on the emptiness of the vast void.
Is this how this entity had lived? No wonder
Hamza could relate to it. This calmness and a sense of loneliness would make anything long for company. Maybe that’s why
[This power is wasted on you honestly. I bet you would be fun at parties]
Both the screen and the goddess made comments about how he was wasting the limited time he had been given. Unknown to both of them, Hamza was doing something interesting. He had changed his perception of time and was trying to extend it as much as possible. Time seemed to slow and halt as Minutes passed, hours passed, days passed, years passed, it felt like he was on a time frame infinitely different. It felt like he could go beyond trillions of years, but he stopped. After 100 years. Then the clock ticked again. This kind of power was not something he should have. No living thing should. Absolute power corrupts those who have never had it from birth.
He finally responded to their comments
"Don't underestimate me.” Hamza stretched his limbs
“Just because I'm not doing what you want me to do, doesn't mean I'm not doing anything at all. I just wanted to see what the limits were with these powers."
Hamza was frustrated and confused by the mysterious power he had been given. He turned to the observer and the screen and said
"I was just testing something. What's the point of this? Observer, I just experienced 100 years in a seconds because I wanted to. Why give me this kind of power?"
The observer remained silent, and the infinite white void shook slightly. But she eventually responded in a slightly annoyed tone,
"I told you to stop asking questions. You're not ready for the answers."
Hamza's frustration grew. He wanted answers, and he wasn't about to let the observer avoid his questions.
"What do you mean I'm not ready? You're the one who gave me this power, and you should at least have the decency to explain why"
The observer's silence was deafening, but Hamza knew she was hiding something from him. He realized that the observer's words were an indication that there was something wrong and he knew that he had to uncover the truth about this power, no matter what it took.
Hamza clearly felt the threat. Yet he couldn't help but ask one more thing.
Hamza gave up thinking about it.
"I used to be a teacher, so yes, I was just curious." Bluffing wouldn't suffice, but he actively attempted to shield his mind, preventing this entity from delving into his thoughts. He struggled to comprehend everything that had transpired until this point.
Hamza kept watching the empty infinite void, finding it soothing.
“You are afraid of the questions. You might already know the answer to” observer said as she placed a hand on his shoulder trying to comfort him.
"It doesn't diminish your existence, your struggles, hopes, and dreams," Observer added, the last thing she had to say on the matter.
Hamza nodded slowly, taking her words to heart. He decided to let go of his curiosity and enjoy the moment as it was. He kept staring into the void, finding peace in its vastness. The question he had goes beyond mere simple things he was questioning the very nature of his reality. But such notions are better left not answered. He didn’t like the 50/50 of the answer. It would break him mentally. To him, this was his reality nothing more nothing less.
Observer pounced on Hamza with a playful gleam.
“So….”
She teased. It was pretty obvious she just wanted some entertainment or at least something amusing to watch. With a sigh Hamza relented and thought of what to do. She had high hopes that Hamza would do something extraordinary, something that would leave her in awe. She couldn't wait to see what he would come up with.
Hamza pondered for a moment, deep in thought.
"Let's see," he said, a hint of excitement in his voice.
He realized that it would be a shame not to use the nearly limitless power at his disposal, even if just for a little while.
"Alright, first I want to try something"
Hamza said determination etched on his face. He extended his hands and a large, shimmering bubble appeared, its surface reflecting the light like a star.
"Hmm, let's fast-forward it"
Hamza said as he concentrated on manipulating the bubble. The once static sphere began to swirl and twist, the colors shifting and blending together, creating mesmerizing patterns. She watched in wonder as the bubble expanded, filling the room with its mesmerizing light show.
As Hamza continued to work, it became clear that the bubble was not just a simple conjuration but an intricate creation, a glimpse into the depths of his power and potential.
The bubble continued to expand, but its shape remained unchanged, growing larger and larger until it was as big as a basketball. Observer watched in excitement, her playful gleam was evident. It was fun to watch.
"Finally something not boring" she exclaimed.
As the bubble fluctuated, its appearance began to change, as if it were on the brink of bursting. The light show inside the bubble grew increasingly intense, swirling patterns and colors mesmerizing to behold.
A few moments passed and Hamza let out a satisfied chuckle.
"Haha, look at this," he said, gesturing toward the mesmerizing display before them.
The once static sphere has now become dynamic and the observer can see the depth of the creation and how intricate it was.
He presented a small ball to the observer, which floated on its own in the void.
"Okay, I'm going to do something interesting," he said with a grin.
Hamza stood up and opened a portal for both of them, and the system screen followed them as they walked through it. He stood at the front, welcoming them with open arms.
"Welcome to the multiverse I have created," he said, a hint of pride in his voice.
"I put a lot of thought into it. I wanted to create something. So I created a multiverse to see if it’s even possible."
"Ohh, interesting," the observer said, her voice full of interest and curiosity as she looked around at the new surroundings. The place was beyond her imagination, the different worlds and realms she could see were mesmerizing. This was a moment of pure wonder.
The observer looked around in awe at the infinite cosmos, marveling at the different worlds and realms that stretched out before her. The screen too, viewed the scene with wonder.
"This is amazing," she said, her voice filled with awe. "An infinite, layered multiverse. You did a good job. Honestly, I expect nothing less from my pet," she said mockingly.
The system however was not impressed. "Huh, I could have done better," it mocked.
"This is nothing to someone with that kind of power."
Hamza grabbed the screen as it floated by, a stern look on his face if he had one. He didn't appreciate being mocked or belittled, especially not by a mere system that he just met. He took pride in his abilities and had worked hard to create this multiverse. He knew that the observer was just joking but he couldn't take the comment from the system as well. It was personal.
He had a wry chuckle, not taking the screen's comment too seriously
[Oye wtf] the screen protested.
He grabbed the sentient system and started tearing the sentient system screen just to mess with it a little as if he had toon force.
"Don't make me do the same thing now, you stupid hateful system," Hamza replied with an amused voice.
Observer sat back and watched the interaction between Hamza and the sentient screen. The scene was amusing to her, and she couldn't help but be entertained by Hamza's playful teasing of the sentient system.
Just remember, after we come back from one of the other verses, it's just you and me." Hamza said to the screen system, with a mocking tone.
He laughed a bit
Hamza and observer stepped through the portal and into Origin void, Hamza couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement.
"Did you make it as boring as your original world?" Observer asked.
"Nope"
Hamza gestured excitedly as he spoke about his creation.
"It's got so many things! I made a hierarchy of powers like angels, demons, dark beings, and gods and put them in different realms and domains. I can't wait to see how it develops."
Observer listened with interest as Hamza continued
"I made the earth and humans a separate realm. The thing is, others can invade in a different sense. I'll have to think about the other details later."
She responded, "Oh, that's nice. Congrats."
Observer wrapped her arms around Hamza, pulling him close. It was an uncomfortable embrace, but Hamza didn't resist. He was still dazed, thinking about his first creation. Observer took advantage of the moment, pressing her mannequin women's body against his.
"You happy?" Hamza asked in a monotone voice.
Observer stared at Hamza with a look of surprise and confusion.
"Geez, are you gay? If so I can change into anything you like" she asked
"No," he replied, "I'm just god-phobic. Deal with it."
"Humph," she responded, clearly offended by his statement. It was infuriating to her that she could be the ideal type for him yet he didn’t even bat an eye.
She just stared at him for a moment before shaking her head and moving on, seemingly having forgiven him for whatever slight she perceived.
Observer looked at Hamza curiously.
"So this is your first creation. Will you destroy it now?"
Support creative writers by reading their stories on Royal Road, not stolen versions.
Hamza was confused by her question. The thought of destroying his creation never crossed his mind. He had created sentient life in it as well, and all he wanted to do was watch it, every particle, every being. He felt compelled to do so.
"Never," he replied firmly.
"I will just watch them, every one of them."
Observer nodded, her expression unreadable. "Typical, but expected. Anything else?"
"Hmm"
The timer on the system screen reached zero.
[Integration complete. Loading data….]
[Journey info]
The screen displayed a game-like interface, similar to the Dark Souls games. The stakes were much higher, and the consequences of losing were his death. He didn’t want to die. Hamza read through the instructions carefully, trying to absorb as much information as possible.
"The system here is going to balance your stats when you enter the other verses," the text read.
"You will steadily gain more of your power as you continue to deal with the threats.
Method 1: You will be awarded GP points for eliminating the Aku virus-infected variants across the verses. Each variant has a different GP point value assigned.
Method 2: You can also earn them by interacting with the main cast of the verse. It depends on the likability or repulsiveness that the main cast feels about you. However, the amount earned is minuscule compared to the previous method mentioned"
Hamza nodded, understanding the stakes and the rewards. He was ready for whatever the other verses had in store for him. He would use all of his skills and abilities to earn as many GP points as possible and gain the upper hand in this dangerous journey.
Example of a Aku virus:
It showed a video of a deer that was grazing the field. A mysterious black goo approaches it from its rear. The black goo crept closer and closer to the unsuspecting deer, its tendrils reaching out like the grasping hands of the damned. The deer's ears twitched in alarm as the stench of rot and decay filled its nostrils, but it was too late. The goo enveloped it, devouring it whole as it thrashed and screamed in terror. The goo twisted and contorted the deer's body, breaking bones and crushing organs as it feasted. Its eyes bulged in agony as it was consumed, the last thing it saw was the gleeful, malevolent gaze of the black goo before it was consumed by darkness.
With a sickening squelch, the goo finished its meal, and a twisted, monstrous version of the deer emerged. Its eyes now glowing red with malice, its bones visible through its putrid, blackened flesh, and its mouth filled with razor-sharp teeth. It let out a deafening screech as it set off in search of its next victim.
The scene was one of utter devastation and horror, and Hamza could not look away as he watched the grotesque transformation of the innocent deer into a monstrous killing machine. A chill ran down his spine as he realized the true nature of the Aku virus and what if it could infect and absorb everything. Living or non-living. What are the limits? If Aku can do that with anything is that how he will spread like a plague within the verse? A lot of questions popped into Hamza’s head.
Hamza stared at the sentient system in confusion, struggling to comprehend the gravity of the threat it had just presented to him. AKU, while powerful, did not seem like the type of villain that would pose a significant challenge. He couldn't understand why this particular villain was a threat when there were far stronger ones he could think of.
"are you sure about this?" he asked, his voice filled with skepticism. "Aku wasn’t even powerful within his own show”
Observer, tried to explain further. "It's complicated," she said, her voice tinged with a hint of mystery. "This version of AKU is an anomaly. A variant that shouldn’t exist. This version will find a way to become a threat to everything. "
But before she could say more, the sentient system began to react in an agitated manner, its hovering screen body displaying loud and hostile messages.
"I don't get it. We have the power to do anything. Why do I need you, system? This whole journey plot seems pointless. Why can't we just destroy AKU in the Samurai Jack verse and come back? It would be a breeze with our power"
Hamza's words seemed to enrage the sentient system even more, it glitched a lot as it vented its anger. Observer attempted to diffuse the situation by fanning the system with her hand in a comical fashion.
The system's response was curt and annoyed, its text displaying on the screen.
"It's not that simple. You're a --------------- being. You can't leave this origin void. It's the only place that can contain you in your entirety. If you travel to any other verse, you'll destroy it simply by existing. And there are rules to this, rules that cannot be broken. It's like trying to fill a glass with infinite water, it can't contain it. You are not meant to interfere with any verse. You actually can’t even leave this void”
With a sigh, the system continued.
"You will use avatars. Also, my job is to make you travel safely without breaking the rules. I exist to nerf your ass so your stupidity doesn't cause unnecessary damage to the verse. You'll get isekai'd to that verse in your pathetic state. You would need to get strong. You have to earn everything from the ground up. If you don’t stop this version of AKU, it will come to devour all of the samurai verse. It would embody everything within the samurai jack verse, becoming too powerful, and start spreading across the Omni-nexus to devour all of existence."
The system's tone turned hateful. "Before you ask, yes, this is the possible future we're talking about. It's a possibility that exists, but it's not set in stone. Your actions will determine the fate of the Jack verse and others."
Hamza was at a loss for words, completely flabbergasted by the information bomb that had just been dropped on him. He was speechless, struggling to process the overwhelming information he had just received.
"But what if I die?" he asked, his voice trembling with fear and uncertainty.
The system's voice remained emotionless, with a hint of sarcasm. "Well, if you're really that worried about it, you should probably start working on your push-ups and sit-ups and squats when you get isekaied. My main goal is to nerf you while also making you stronger as you eliminate threats. You literally unlocking your own power through me without breaking the cosmic rules. These rules are in place for a reason. your death, while not ideal, is ultimately insignificant in the grand scheme of things."
Hamza felt a surge of anger and frustration. "So you're saying my life is disposable, that I'm just a pawn in this larger game?"
Observer, sensing Hamza's confusion and fear, interjected, "Don't worry. Your original self now exists here, linked to me. Even if you perish anywhere else, you will simply respawn here, much like in a video game. Understand that this does not mean it won't hurt. You will experience everything - pain, sorrow, death, agony, love, hate- but you will not die permanently. Unless AKU succeeds in devouring everything in creation, of course. That in turn will give him access to this place as well."
Hamza took a moment to consider the information but soon found his thoughts drifting. He forgot about what he was thinking but couldn't shake the feeling of unease and uncertainty.
The sentient screen then displayed a screen of stats to both Observer and Hamza. It resembled a game screen, with various options for them to change their appearance and stats. Hamza felt a glimmer of hope as he realized that with the right adjustments, he could potentially deal with the threats in other verses. He had experience playing games like Dark Souls, and this was familiar territory for him. He knew that if he played it safe, he could survive.

Observer could sense anger in Hamza as he read his stats, but she couldn't help the small giggles that escaped her lips as he turned his head towards her slowly in a comical manner.
"You!" he exclaimed, his voice laced with frustration.
Observer froze, caught in the act of messing with Hamza's appearance.
"Wait, I didn't do anything,"
She protested, fidgeting nervously with her thumb while whistling nonchalantly. Hamza simply stared at her, recognizing her obvious teasing.
Observer finally spoke up, trying to diffuse the tension. "Okay, fine. I maybe, just maybe, locked your appearance. But, come on, you look dashing in your original appearance anyway. It would be a waste to change your handsome self."
Hamza was taken aback, his embarrassment preventing him from questioning her further. He made a gesture as he scratched his head, trying to process her words.
"Handsome? Really?" he said, a hint of disbelief in his voice.
That one comment made him forget his anger and he was just happy that he had been complimented. After a few moments, he came back to his senses and realized that he was still kind of angry at the stats.
"What about my stats? Are you kidding me? Even a fucking gust of wind could knock me down. What's the deal here?" Hamza exclaimed, throwing a fit of mock outrage.
The system displayed its answer on its screen in a deadpan tone. "Deal with it. You can just upgrade your stats by pouring GP points into one of the attributes. Each attribute can be upgraded by 1+ by pouring 1000 GP points."
"That's just ridiculous," Hamza exclaimed, feigning shock.
The system responded with a snarky, "Take it or leave it, buddy."
Hamza was expecting these shenanigans, but he couldn't help but play along. Better than staring at 0 he thought. He then turned to Observer to check her stats, but she quickly hid them before he could sneak a peek.
"Hey, let me see what you got," Hamza said with a little frustration, trying to sneak a peek at Observer's stats.
She shook her head, clearly saying no. "Nah-ah, it's a secret," she teased.
"The hell it is. You don't mess with me and not expect to be poked," Hamza retorted, determined to see her stats.
Without hesitation, He grabbed her display screen and tried to take a look, but the only thing he saw was a tab labeled "Appearance Modifier" with a figure of a blonde woman in the nude, with a voluptuous and thick figure. The woman's height was tall and her face was beautiful as if she was being sculpted. Observer tried to grab her screen back from Hamza, but he held her in place with one hand on her head as she struggled to get close.
“Hey, don't be a pervert. You can have your fun when we get our bodies," she said with a laugh
Hamza immediately let go of the screen getting a little flustered "Your mind is just full of indecency. I'm not interested in cosmic gods," he said with a grin trying to spite her. Get a reaction out of her. Anything that could give information about what he was dealing with.
Observer retorted
"Says the guy who tried to propose to his college professor multiple times, only to be rejected every time. Ha! You tried for a whole year lol. Now you only have me, so you might as well take what you can get."
Hamza felt as though he had been shattered, back in college he was kind of a clueless idiot. the word cut through him both physically and mentally. As he struggled to recover from the insult, the sentient system's screen lit up with a message.
"Okay, cool it, lovebirds. Now that we're done with the stats, it's time to choose the verse. Each one has a contamination rating, so you'll need to decide which one to go with."
The higher the contamination, the greater the threat of the aku will appear. The system then displayed the verses in a random order, each one representing a different level of danger.
Samurai jack ------- 42%
Demon slayer ------ 32%
Dc ------- 11%
Full metal alchemist ------- 18%
Naruto --------- 12%
"I will explain what this means and how it will affect the verse," the sentient system said, as it displayed the contamination ratings for each of the verses. Hamza studied the numbers carefully, trying to decide which verse would be the best option for them to enter. Each one represented a different level of danger, and they would have to choose wisely if they wanted to have any chance of surviving.
The system spoke in a condescending tone,
"Listen up, kiddos. The contamination will increase at a steady pace, like my mom's cooking. You can monitor it in your info tab, just like you'd check the weather forecast. As the contamination increases, so does the power of the Aku in that verse. It will destroy the lands, people, gods, and even entire worlds and protagonists. After 85%, it will be impossible to stop it. You will lose the verse to Aku. But don't worry, you can halt, slow, or even decrease the contamination by killing specific variant bosses that you will encounter in the verse. They will have more power and intelligence than a normal infected can ever hope and dream to have and act as a part of Aku. And the best part? You'll gain a fortune of GP points if you can kill them."
"And as a bonus, you will receive even more GP points if you can clear a verse with a higher rating. Keep that in mind when choosing your verse. The verse you will be transported to will have the original timeline events but with major and minor differences because of Aku. Think of it like a game of Clue, but instead of Colonel Mustard, it's the Aku. If you die, your stats and GP points will remain unaffected, but you will lose one of your abilities at random upon returning. It will be absorbed by whatever killed you, so be careful not to make your enemies too powerful. Your death has consequences."
The system added one more rule,
"And one more thing, if you kill yourself trying to be a smartass, well, tough luck. You will lose 10,000 GP points, plus one of your abilities will be sealed unless you pour in 10,000 GP points to unlock it again."
It continued, "You can go to any verse, but be warned, once you choose one, you'll be stuck there unless you die."
After hearing what the system had to say, Hamza was left with a number of questions that he needed to consider before making his final decision. One thing that particularly bothered him was the possibility of one of the verses being devoured if he failed. He needed to know what the implications of this would be on his journey and if it would make it impossible to clear the journey if that happened.
With a serious tone, Hamza asked the system to provide him with detailed answers so that he could make an informed decision. He also had a hunch that these verses had a correlation with contamination rating and wanted to clear any doubts he had.
The sentient system gave an eerie sneer sound and complimented Hamza by saying, "You're smart, I'll give you that. To answer your question, it would be nigh impossible, but it is possible. The thing is as I said it is borderline impossible. Only the insane would look back to clear it. You can’t let Aku get that kind of advantage no matter what. ” The system's affirmation gave Hamza hope.
The sentient system added on
“If a verse gets devoured, the contamination rate increases by 20% across the board. The rate of contamination increase also drastically increases. It just gives Aku too much power and with that power, he can conquer other verses more easily. If given too much power, it will be unstoppable." The system's glitches this time had a different rhythm and conveyed dread, making Hamza flinch. The way even the sentient system was scared of what could happen if Aku went unnoticed made Hamza start thinking of a plan.
He sat still, his mind racing with a seemingly endless stream of simulations and possibilities. The weight of the task at hand weighed heavily on him and the more he thought about it, the more complex and daunting it became. He stretched his time perception, allowing himself to think at a faster pace, but even then, decades seemed to pass in the blink of an eye. He couldn't believe how much time it was taking to come up with a plan to clear the verses. There were far too many variables to consider.
Observer watched Hamza, sitting frozen like a statue. She couldn't help but feel a mix of amusement "Hey, you're thinking too much. Come on, snap out of it!" She said playfully, giving his manikin face a gentle poke.
Hamza broke from his concentration, his eyes focusing on her as he let out a small chuckle. "Hey, stop it, Can you give me a break?" He said, a hint of teasing in his voice. Sprayed some on her.
“Really?” she said in a flat voice.
"There are infinite variables to what you're trying to predict. Just go with the flow, Hammy. I'll help you navigate the chaos," She said, trying to lighten the mood with a touch of humor. Her words were meant to ease his worries.
Hamza sat in silence in a curled-up leg position, deep in thought. After several minutes, a glint of determination shone in his eyes as he came to a decision. He knew exactly where to begin his journey.
"Okay, I've decided where to start," he announced confidently.
Both the observer and the sentient system stared at him in surprise. "Let me guess, DC?"
But Hamza shook his head, a hint of annoyance creeping into his voice. "No. Samurai Jack verse first. What kind of person do you take me for? An idiot?" he retorted with sarcasm.
"Why Samurai Jack verse first?" The observer asked, confusion etched in her voice. She had thought he would choose the easiest verse to start, to gain some advantages before moving on to more challenging ones.
"Of all the places, you choose the most dangerous one. Are you foolish or brave? I can't tell the difference," the sentient system sneered with a text remark.
Hamza rolled his eyes at the system's remark. "You'll find out soon enough. And stop belittling me every time, what's your problem?" He retorted with annoyance.
The system replied in a patronizing tone. "Your choice, it's your funeral either way."
The sentient system displayed a game screen of a graveyard with a tombstone bearing his name. A button appeared in the middle, with the text
"Do you want to lock the verse?" displayed above it.
The marker was set on the Samurai Jack verse.
Hamza hesitated for a moment, his heart pounding with a mix of excitement and fear. He then pressed the button on the sentient screen display with a firm press. "I hope this works out," he muttered under his breath.
The sentient screen started to glow with a bright light, as both Hamza and the observer watched in awe. A gate appeared out of nowhere, its pure white color emanating from it. The sound of the gate opening was like a roar, the air around them was charged with a strange energy.
The sentient screen displayed a few texts. “TIMELINE X̶̢̧̳̻̻͓̘͚̪̽̅̽̑̇͒́͝n̸̻̫̦͙̦̞̰͙̹̞̗̭͆̈́͘ͅg̶̘̪̘̐̏̇1̶̡̧̛̥̹̯̘͇̪̩̲̭̑̈́͗͒͌2̷̘̼͗́͆̇͌̒͐͋͋̐̇͘͘͝3̶̬̜͖̣̥͚̗̬̰͋̌̉̈́̋̈̉͛̎̑̈́̆͘͜4̶̡̛̳̠̹̭̙̭̬́͗͑̎̿̆̏̋̓̇̿͜͝. Samurai jack verse. All stats and body loaded”
It said while squirming with joy, jolting as if its being was being simulated. It felt like it was getting off the process somehow. Hamza only felt uncomfortable as he saw this and backed away a few steps.
The gate stood tall with blinding light escaping from it. Hamza was hesitant, but the observer just grabbed his hand and ran into the door like a hungry cat chasing food.
“Wha-!” Hamza exclaimed as he was flung by the observer like a handheld purse. She dragged him without a care, laughing.
“Finally free from my infinite boredom,” she said as she jumped into the door, dragging Hamza along the way.
"Ahhhhh, stop you idiot!" he screamed as they disappeared into the light, thus the adventure began.
Someone just wake me up from this nightmare.
Hamza had just a glimmer of false hope that this was a dream as he faded into the light.
