Well Journal, I screwed up, I screwed up bad. Turns out dear old Dad decided he was going to be a father for once and decided to send people looking for me. When I woke up today I left the Inn early in the morning and was making my way to the Recruitment office, I saw a few De'Ville henchmen going around handing pictures of me out to people on the street. Honestly, I thought the De'Villes would have said "Good Riddance", but turns out that was not the case. Quickly I ducked into an alley way to hide, and then decided to try and sneak my way to the recruitment center, which was my second screw-up. I must have set a world record for getting lost. At this point I was panicking, and thinking back I can’t help but keep myself from laughing as I probably looked like a chicken with its head cut off. Well I finally made it back to the main road, looking to see if there were any more De’Ville henchmen around. Seeing a few, I ducked downed and tried to blend in with the crowd.
It wasn't too hard to do actually, considering Jericho was a Trading Hub, and its streets boasted a large assortment of humans and other races there for business and pleasure. As I made my way through the crowd, I noticed the number of De’Ville Henchman's numbers dwindled, and it seems like they were mostly centered around Taverns, Brothels, and Gambling houses. I guess they thought I was out for a jaunt or something. I had mixed feelings about that. On one hand, it made it easier, considering I was going to the Recruitment Office in the Business district, on the other hand I was miffed that the De'Villes thought I was that kind of person. Anyway, I finally got to the Recruitment Center and managed to get there, the only problem though was that I was late, like really late.
As I walked in, I was met by a tall Oxull man. The massive Demi-Human was at least 7ft tall, maybe 8ft if you count his horns, I just wandered how he got through the door. He gave me a weird smile, almost creepy, but he seemed nice. Looking at the Officer Emblem on his uniform, I guessed this must be the 2nd Recruiter the 1st one told me about. Taking the initiative to talk, I quickly tried to explained that I was late simply due to fact that I got lost, but he simply waived it aside, he said that he was in a hurry, and that he had a timeline to keep. He sat down at a desk, and I tried not laugh considering his legs couldn't even fit under the desk. He then quickly gave me some more papers to sign, and I readily agreed. All I could think about was that as soon as I signed those papers I would be freed from the De'Villes, I quickly scanned over the papers, and it was mostly just listing the benefits I would gain from joining the Adrian Army, some were extravagant, but I could see why. A mage on the Battlefield were worth a thousand soldiers! For example, if I were to execute one of my Dark Mage Skills, like "Supernova" I could possibly take out the entire Business district of Jericho! Well, that is only if they didn't have magic enchantments on all the buildings to protect from crazy mages. Anyway, mages were valuable to an army, and from what I was told were protected at all costs, which also fueled my courage to join. To me who has always been made to suppress my magic my whole life, being in the army where my magic was respected was like a dream come true! I quickly signed the enlistment papers, and when I was done, The Oxull man smiled, as I look back it was a rather weird smile, but I was too enthusiastic about it too notice.

Leaning over the Oxull man reached out for a handshake, I went to return it, and as I did he suddenly grabbed my hand, hard. Surprised, I looked at him, and he just kept smiling. I asked him what was going on right now, and he, with that creepy smile, said 'Welcome to the Special Forces, Evander Leonardo De'Ville". Gasping, and yes, I admit I actually gasped, I was stunned and could only stupidly asked how he knew my name. He laughed and replied " Last night I got a good call from one of my old friends, George Iscariot, saying that a brat had run away from home, and most likely went to join the army." Feeling betrayed I just stood there blinking, then I remembered something. I then asked "Wait, did you just say something about the Special Forces?" The Oxull man finally looked surprised, "Old George did say you was pretty smart" The Oxull turned and started walking away, motioning me to follow him. As I did, he continued talking "HaHa Yeah, kid you didn't just sign up for the regular Army, you signed up for the most elite and dangerous unit that answers to the King! You should be honored". Taken back I tried to process that information, still am actually, I had a lot of questions, but my first one was "Elite? I have never been in a fight in my life! Why would George want me in the Special Forces?".
"I’m confused about that too", the Oxull man said, "But George was pretty adamant about that too. Something about revenge for the havoc you caused at the De'Ville Estate, and the chewing out he got from the De’Ville elders for allowing you to run away". Confused I muttered "Revenge? And why would the Elders be so mad?" "Can’t answer you there kid, I have no Idea about De'Ville politics, as for revenge... well you'll find out soon enough, HaHahaha". The Oxull man suddenly stopped, and I was brought back out of my thoughts. Noticing we was at the end of a long hallway, I was flabbergasted. I had no idea how this fit in the small recruitment center. In front of us was a door, the Oxull man pushed it open to a weird room, it was entirely spherical in shape, with a giant glowing crystal floating in the middle. All along the walls there were magic symbols that looked like they were crawling around. I recognized it as a teleportation room, the De'Ville had one that family members in other Kingdoms could use to come back home with. Ushering me in, the Oxull man stayed outside. Worriedly I asked "You’re not coming with me? He shook his head and replied "No, afraid not, I still have some business left in Jericho. All you have to do is inject a little of your mana into that crystal there and you’ll be sent to where you have to go." After that he started to close the door, before he could, I fired off one last question "Wait! I didn’t catch your name!". The door stopped closing, and his voiced echoed back, "My names Wurscha, remember that kid!". With that final remark, he closed the door, leaving me alone in the room.
My mind still reeling, I just stared around the room, trying to intake what had just happened, staring at the symboled cover walls, I felt a different feeling I've never really felt before, and I liked it. Walking up to the Crystal, I put my hand on it, willing my mana to burst out. As the crystal accepted it, it started to glow, bathing the room in a bright light. My vision became filled with it, as I started to lose feeling in my body, as it slowly faded away.
