Jolly Rogers coin
This gift to you isn't a normal gift. The trial I went through for you to have should show you the importance of this coin. One you should cherish till the end. For a moment I met that end.
As we were supposed to be heading back. The ship decided to hold its shell back ceremony. It's an old tradition that supposed to prove you’re worth the king of the sea. I thought it be cute to do. We were given a choice to do it, at first. The night we were expected to hold the ceremony, which was to be all day, the 1MC boomed with the loud sounds of trumpets. A fanfare played and next thing I knew the collision alarm went off. The ship started to tilt and even seemed too taken on weight.
I was afraid. Then the fanfare went away and we could hear a scornful yet refined voice go off.
"You, vessel that has traversed my waters. I do not recognize any on this behemoth and demand to know what you are doing here!"
"Yar, the king be asking for your name you Landover" it took a moment to process.
I mean I thought it was all supposed to be a play, some script but, apparently Davy Jones and King Neptune came on our ship!
Isn’t that fucking crazy!
The captain explained over the 1MC, that we aren't causing harm and we are sailors off to defend our country.

Davy Jones scoffed and King Neptune seemed to be displeased by the tone in his voice.
"Get your bloody land lovers together so I can see for myself" Jones laughed hardly and next thing I knew we were all to line up in the hanger bay.
Everyone! Jones put his crew at the helm and as we stood there, looking at the king of the seven seas standing over us like a giant. He seem to barely fit in the hanger bay itself. Davy Jones stepped forward, though towering us he still seemed smaller; and spitted to the crowd. I happened to be in the front and got majority of the slime. It was disgusting.
"These are disgusting polliwogs I ever seen!
Yar these land lovers don’t know the first thing about the sea. I say they earn their right! Right now! What say ye king?"
"Very well. Send the first group up to the upper deck. Let them be baptized by the sea" King said in a booming voice.
I couldn't help but be scared. The storms were getting worse, in tuned with the Kings anger. With a wave of his hand the ship seem to have a life of its own. Some Fishman were pushing me and others, the first group, to the lift which activated on its own. We sat as we rode it. There were water tornadoes and lighting storms all around us. Soon we got to the flight deck and Davy Jones was already there. They fashioned a plank at the forward part of the ship and I as pulled from the group and made to stand there.
Jones could see I was scared and came forward.
"Don’t worry laddy. If you fall, chebooty isn’t a far swim" I could smell the rot and decay emitting from him. I turned to look out. I was standing at the edge when a giant wave rose up in front of me. I knew what it meant. I knew it was the end. I knew I wouldn't see you again. Then in a flash it fell. I didn’t get hit. The King was now up with us smiling and Jones was kicking the deck, smacking his thigh. He was frustrated. A narwhal whale horn poked up and made the king stop everything and the sun came out from the clouds. He tapped Davy Jones who tossed me the coin you have.
"Young lad. You stood fast. I commend you. You will forever be protected by the seas."
He beamed a giant smile and shined with a radiant light. After getting off the plank in dropped to my knees and held it close.
