Jezabel
It's a forest!

It's a forest!

Waking up lying on the ground with a sharp rock pocking into her unprotected back, was not the way that Jezabel expected to wake up.  Niether was the fact that she was naked.  In a forest.

"What the fuck?" she whispered to herself taking in her surroundings.  The trees were tall, with a thick canopy.  Ferns, shorter trees and vines competed for what little sunlight managed to get through.  "Where the hell am I?"

Welcome to Fresia.  Level up.  Survive.

Yelping in surprise, Jezabel looked around, trying to figure out where the box came from.  Realising that the box seemed to follow her sight around, she read it again.

"Level up? What the hell does that mean?"  she said, confused.  "Like in a game?"  She closed her eyes and pinched the bridge of her nose, hand on hip.  To her annoyance the box stayed in her vision despite her closed eyes.

"Go away," she tried.  "Get lost, piss off, fuck off!"  The blue box was still there, hovering.  Taking a deep breath to calm herself, she said, "dismissed."  The blue box disappeared.

Looking round Jezabel realised she had no memories of how she got into the forest.  In fact she had no memories.  She couldn't remember her childhood, who her family was or what she had done.  But, she knew 2+2=4 and that water was made up of two hydrogen and one oxygen atom.

Desperately searching her knowledge, Jezabel tried to make a plan to survive.  "I'm somewhere in a forest, no idea where closest civilization is and no supplies.  I need somewhere to shelter, food, water and clothes.  Thankfully it's warm and dry so that should help, can't rely on my luck that it's like this all the time.  So, first thing, find a cave, preferably without an occupant, we can search for anything edible on the way.  Should see if I can find a decent stick to hit things with.  Also, cave needs to be near a water source.  After that, we can start exploring looking for a town or..." she trailed off and blinked, looking around.  "Let's take care of immediate needs before we start making long term plans."

Once again looking around, she searched for any thing that might indicate what direction she came from.  She found no tracks, broken branches or anything that had been disturbed, except for where she had been lying only minutes before.  However, a long stick about 1.8 meters long and 5cm diameter caught her attention.  She moved over to it a picked it up.

You have picked up a Long Stick

Weapon Long Stick Damage  3 - 6 Crit 1% A long stick is just a long branch that has fallen off a tree.  A long stick offers more reach and more damage than its shorter cousin.

The boxes once again startled Jezabel, causing her to let out a surprised cry and then a pained one as she dropped the stick on her foot.

You have taken 3 dmg from long stick.

Jezabel dismissed the annoying boxes with a thought, pleased that they responded to her thoughts.

"I'll have to figure out what the hell is up with these boxes." she said aloud.  "Later though."

She picked up the stick again and once again dismissed the boxes about picking up the stick.

Staring up at the canopy, Jezabel couldn't pinpoint exactly where the sun was in the sky, the thick layer of leaves diffusing the light throughly.  Sighing, Jezabel closed her eyes and spun in a circle, stopped opened her eyes and started out in the direction she was facing.

After a couple of hours, there were a few things that Jezabel knew for certain.  First, walking in a forest without shoes was painful.  Her feet were bruised and cut up.  Second, she was hungry with no obvious food source.  Three, she was thirsty.  Same problem as with the food.  Forth, big boobs need a bra.  The under boob sweat is real and bouncing boobs are really uncomfortable! And painful!

Last, but not least, she was tired.  Walking in a forest was exhausting.  It wasn't like walking down the street where you have a nice smooth surface.  The forest floor was uneven, everytime you took a step the elevation changed slightly and you often couldn't put your whole foot down.  Then there was the climbing over old fallen down trees, stubbing your toe on hidden rocks and walking into a low branch because you were concentrating too much on where your feet were rather than what was in front of you.

Pausing in her miserable trek, Jezabel looked around herself for anything that may help with any one of her issues.  A glimps of red to her right had her heading in that direction towards  a low lying bush.  Reaching the bush, Jezabel took one last look around the area before she crouched down and picked one of the bright red berries off the bush.

"Looks like a raspberry," she said inspecting it closely.

New skill learned: Identify

Identify

By looking at something and concentrating on it, you can gain information on what it is.  The higher the skill level the more information you gain.

Some objects, skills, or spells can block this ability.

Wild Raspberry A sweet fruit.

Helpful, Jezabel thought sarcastically.  It dosen't even tell me whether it's poisonous or not.

Jezabel sat on the cold ground thinking.  Well, raspberries, to my knowledge aren't poisonous, however, with no memories of eating them...lets try one and wait a bit before eating more.

New skill learned: Survival Skill Set

Survival Skill Set

The survival skill set gives knowledge that allows one to survive by themselves in the wild.  It is a generalised skill set made up of alot of other skills, such as tracking, herbology, leather working etc, as well as a few peices of essential knowledge such as how to light a fire, without a flint and steel.

Although someone with the survival skill knows the skills that make up the skill set, these subskills are not as well developed as if someone has the subskill.  For example, a person with the tracking skill will be twice as good at tracking than some with the survival skill set if both skills are the same level.

Skills that are included in the survival skill set are much harder to learn individually for someone who has the survival skill, however, when they do manage to learn that skill it starts at half the level of the survival skill set, rounded down.

Skill sets take alot more experience to level up than individual skills.

As her head was filled with knowledge that she didn't have before, Jezabel thanked her lucky stars that she was already sitting.  The nausea and headache from hell that developed due to the knowledge dump was not fun.  It was debilitating.  Jezabel laid down on her back, roled onto her side and grabbed her head with both hands, trying to keep her head intact and her stomache under control.

After several minutes of misery, the pain and nausea eased, allowing Jezabel to sit up again.  Once the symptoms left Jezabel stood ate as many of the berries as she could and started walking again.  Using her newfound knowledge to guide her and identifying everything she saw.

Evening was approaching fast, the thick conopy blocking most of the remaining light making the forest floor darker earlier than Jezabel expected.  She had failed to find a place to stay, but did manage to find a small creek to drink from and some more berries.  Following the creek for the last couple of hours had not yet led her to a larger water source, but she held out hope.  Sighing, she looked around for a place to make a temporary camp as she walked.  Thankfully, she didn't need to look very far.  A large tree had fallen against an equally large rock.  By leaning some ferns fronds and sticks against the fallen, Jezabel thought she could make a small shelter.

Clearing an area under her makeshift shelter of sticks and stones, Jezabel continued using her Identify Skill, dismissing the boxes as they appeared.

Rock A plain rock.

Stick A stick.

Stick

A stick.

Congratulations! Identify has reached level 2! You now get more information when you use this skill.

Rock A plain rock.  Can be thrown to injure or distract.

"Wait!" Jezabel said, surprised.  She concentrated on bringing up the last couple of dismissed boxes.

Congratulations! Identify has reached level 2! You now get more information when you use this skill.

Rock A plain rock.  Can be thrown to injure or distract.

"So still kind of useless.  But hey, ideas!" she muttered to herself.

By the time Jezabel had set herself up with some fronds and leaves for a mattress and a even more fronds for a blanket, the sun had set and she was exhausted.  Instead of trying to work out what all the boxes were about, she crawled into her makeshift bed and fell asleep.
