The air tasted of pine needles and rain as the stranger gulped in air, sitting up.
It was delicious , but wrong. This was not the dry smog he was used to.
"Where was the kid.",
He looked around, not seeing anyone or anything around him other than a dark and brooding forest.
He felt around his body,
"No unexpected pains or wounds. That's good.",
Deciding there was no danger in getting up. He stood up and decided to get his bearings.
"Did i get transmigrated like in those stories, i read online",
You might be reading a stolen copy. Visit Royal Road for the authentic version.
"Guess i must have saved that kid then. if i did get transmigrated" ,
He calmly introspected while walking through the trees,
Figuring it was at the base of a mountain he was at. He decides to walk up search for any signs of civilization.
It was getting progressively harder to climb the higher he got, with the ground being slippery and there being no clear path forward.
He had to walk back down three times, to by pass cliff faces and fallen trees before he finally made it to the top.
It was beautiful. It was like one of those short video clips you see in nature documentaries, the quietness was something to savour. He would have traveled more if he knew places like this existed before; Sure he had watched the discovery channel like everybody else, But seeing it on the television didn't do it justice to seeing it and feeling it yourself.
Breaking away from his rumination. He spots a couple of roofs in the distance.
"Well, that looks like a normal house", He sighs before he starts to make his way back down. For the long trek back to civilization.
