Jenette was born to a young couple, a happy family but not one that would last. One day when Jenette was two years old her parents forgot to turn off the stove and the house caught fire. It was a small mistake but it was one that would cost the couple their lives. You may be wondering where little Jenette was during all of this? Well…

It was a fair day and Allegra Rosales was enjoying herself. She had been playing cards with her little brother, Noah.
"Sis?" Noah asked.
"Yeah?" She said.
"Do you smell… smoke?" He asked.
"Yeah, I do." She responded taking a moment to smell the air, noting that she could smell a hint of smoke.
The door slammed open revealing their mother.

"The Laneley’s home is on fire!" Mother shouted before rushing back into the hallway. They immediately jumped up and followed their mother. She stopped at Laneley’s home. There were flames leaping out from the roof.
"They’ve found the bodies, they’re both dead." One of the neighbors said mournfully to my mother.
"Even the little girl?" My mother asked.
"No, they haven’t found her yet." The neighbor said shaking their head. My mother also shook her head sadly and lifted her hands in prayer.

She had wandered away from her family, simply walking with no intended destination. In the back of the burning house she saw a small child sitting in the grass. Her brown hair was in small pigtails and in her hands were two wooden ducks whom the little girl was smacking together. That must be Jenette!
"Hello." She said as she approached the little girl.
"Hello." Jenette said with a slight lisp. The little girl waved adorably at her. "Are you here to play with me?"
"No, people have been looking for you." She said leaning down so that she was making eye contact with the little girl.
"Why?" Jenette asked.
She sighed. "Come with me." She said gently taking Jenette's hand.
Together they walked to the front of the by then smoldering house where there was a large crowd of concerned and curious neighbors.
"I found her!" She shouted.
