Chapter 1: Crazy lightning

Chapter 1: Crazy lightning

Spoiler: Spoiler

Another one here, I also want to see how this one does.

The rain fell heavily , beams of sunlight peaked through the heavy dark clouds. The sky was gloomy and  dark. It was late in the afternoon in a small town near Luzhou:China , the air was moist and there was cold wind that blew across a particularly narrow street.

"Well who would have guesses it would rain so heavily today ", a young man holding a plastic bag and  and umbrella sighed as he walked out of a convenience store.

He puffed a warm breath and walked quietly along the sidewalk. The large water droplets fell, and  the chilly wind continued  blowing, leading some walking on the street to tense their bodies , others zipped their jackets to stay warm.

Contrary to others the young man dressed lightly with a plain white shirt, black gym shorts and an old pair of flip flops. Even as the temperature was freezingly cold the young man walked leisurely down the street. A few passerbys shot him a buffered glance as they passed by, It was so freaking cold so how could a person wear such light clothing?

The young man was Jack , short dark hair, height of 178 and somewhat skinny with chocolate brown skin complexion, he held a strange expression as he increased his pace not paying head to anyone.

The small town ; ***** of Lizhou was located quite close to the mountains, leading to frequent heavy rains and occasional thunderstorms which made it extremely cold and humid. It was afternoon  and many people were walking hurriedly to their homes from work, no one wanted to be held up in traffic if the rains were to come down more heavily. The roads in this town were somewhat slippery and there was frequent car accidents occurring when it rained.

Shit the rain is really getting heavy Jack lightly complained as he walked even faster. Eventhough his thoughts were normal his pace was not,his steps  looked normal, but each time he covered a large distance. He was like a ghost or a feather. Even though he had walked for over five minutes from the convenience store he didn't look threat all.

"Man why does the nearest store have to be so faraway from my shitty apartment building?"

His hurried footsteps finally led to a tiny road, there wasn't many buildings around with most being only two or three story tall. If one had followed the young man they would be surprised to discover that in a short time he had travelled a long distance, he was currently in the outscerts of the town.

"My dumb luck, old Tokagawas store had to close down now I have to travel so far," the young man sighed sadly as he lightly complained at particularly no one. Indeed his luck seemed to have been horrible lately, Tokagawa s story closes, he runs out of food out of nowhere and now he was even caught out in the rain, having to travel so faa.....

A loud booming sound suddenly deafened Jack , just a few feet to his left, a tree was blasted by a thick column of light, the surrounding light up capturing Jack's frightened face, he stumbled and fell on his axe due to pure terror.

" Fucc @$ I taught this grandad was a goner for a second , " his face contorted in rage as he observed the place the lighting had hit. The poor tree was churned,it looked awful , thankfully it hadn't caught on fire

Jack spat out and cursed the lightning as he patted his bottoms, ahhh shitty lightning I now have dirty pants, look what you did , he lightly scolded picked up his plastic bag and umbrella. His scared expression turned arrogant as walked proudly staring a few times at the sky confirming that there wasn't anything he walked as he laughed

" Hehe this immortal can't die to a lightning what a joke!" when he said this his expression was full of delight a light spring was added to each of his steps, this deity can't even dieeeeeeee...... HOLY SHIT!!!!!!

A louder boom echoed this time, not giving him any time, his face still held a cheerful expression when a light column crashed into him, the road shone brightly, Jack's body was immersed in agony that filled his whole self

Support creative writers by reading their stories on Royal Road, not stolen versions.

He stood rooted the umbrella long turned into ash the food he walked so far to buy was also the same. His eyes were bulging and he had a shocked look. What an awful sight

He couldn't be blamed the chances of lightning hitting a person was astronomical , basically somewhat impossible but now look...

Jack's eyes rolled around in the eyeballs, he couldn't even blink before that hateful light again illuminated the street he heard another loud booming sound...

Jack couldn't even cry he was hit yet again, many go their whole lives without experiencing  such a horrible accident yet here he was and it even happened twice, What the fu@k Jack had the urge to scream loudly but how could he was in too much pain to even open his mouth.

The horrible sounds of thunder seemed to recede as time passed, Jack fought desperately to stay awake as his heart eased it didn't seem like he was going to die...but that just seemed to jinx him as Jack twisted his neck, his hand clenched and his eyes watched in horror.

Light flashed, this time with a tinge of gold, the thunderous sound was surprisingly absent but nontherless another lighting fiercely  struck Jack from the top of his head down to his toes Jack was shaken.

" Holy shit man there times!! What type of crime did I commit "Jack swore inwardly. His body was still stiff, he couldn't even move a muscle as he stood rooted to the ground.

Luckily with each passing second Jack was able to feel his muscles more and eventually he took a deep breath and looked around. There was a strange look on him as if he been forced to eat a ton of shit. Eventually he slowly moved his legs and pathetically stumbled his way home. What a pitty the white short was churned black and he even lost a slipper. Truly a sad sight thankfully no one was there to witness this somewhat funny scene of a man fleeing...(cough) strategically  retreating.

Jack finally hobbled into a two story building that looked particularly worn out and aged, the surrounding buildings were not much better and looked slightly more alright than Jack's place. Through the windows you could see yellow and white lights that filled the houses. Even though worn out the lights made the place slightly warm and cozy.

Jack shaking opened his room in the top floor and heavily stumbled in, after confirming that the door was locked he fell heavily on the small bed in the tiny apartment.

After short two hour nap Jack finally awoke, his head thumbed loudly as if his brain was bashed in and left in scrambles. His body also ached, a groan escaped his mouth , Jack struggled to sit up and blankly stared at the air. He truly was unfortunate hit three times by lightning what bad luck. Jack sighed and observed his body.

Seems like nothing is wrong, after confirming that he was truly ok, Jack sighed without worry. Jack quietly left his room and went into the apartment shower room with some clothes. After a long relaxing shower, he quickly got out and walked back to his room. He stumbled to pull out an old laptop near his bed. He body lay slugishly as he watched some anime and read some novels.

After a while he opened his mouth and reluctantly closed the laptop. He sat up straight crossed his legs and closed his eyes.

Jack breathed in and out slowly with a certain tempo, his breathing was sometimes long and  drawn out at other times short and quick seemingly quite bizarre and unusual. His face was like that of a devotee on a pilgrimage, calm and peaceful.

If anyone who had read any Chinese novels or manga saw this they would surely slap their thighs and laugh sarcastically, yes  the fellow Jack was indeed meditating.

However if anyone was to see the somewhat small ray of blue light that was flowing within his 'meridians' they wouldn't be laughing. Jack was truly cultivating like seen in the novels!

Inwardly Jack was full of shock and surprised by what he felt, within his meridian as the small blue qi travelled it encountered a yellow powerful light. The golden light unlike the blue qi was overbearing and bountiful.

It was filled with endless might and a shockingly looked like a lightning bolt....
