(Jack's pov)

It was a slow day. I was chilling on the couch watching a movie after finishing my workout for today. It has been a week since my little diving adventure, and let's just say that Yuuri was not happy when I came back to the yacht with my arms looking like they had been scrubbed with sandpaper.

But after I managed to calm her down, she insisted that she bandaged my arm, not that I really needed it, considering that my arms were good as new by the time we came back to shore.

All that aside it was a pretty successful trip. If I do say so myself, I got to spend some quality time with my girlfriend, and she had a pretty good time outside of the whole, seeing my arms partly skinned situation.

I also got some new abilities, some of which I was not expecting.

Demon back lv [5/10]

Ignition lv [10/20]

The first thing I noticed was that both of them were more ability than skills, both having a low-level cap of 10 and 20 in relation to how much control I have over them, not their effects, with each level needing a large amount of XP.

I wasn't surprised when I got the demon back. It was my main goal going on the trip after all, but Ignition was a surprise, to say the least.

It basically increases my metabolism, sending it into overdrive. This was why the water started boiling around me. My body temperature was just that high at the time. I'm surprised that it doesn't cook me from the inside out when I use it, honestly.

The reason both of them are levelled up is that I managed to finally perfect my mindscape, letting me test them without having to find another hentai star, thankfully.

I still needed to be mindful of where I train Ignition. I discovered a couple of things about it when I was first testing. First was that It can be used separately from the demon back; both bring their own multipliers to the table, and they can be stacked.

Second, this skill just burns through stamina like nothing else even now I can't use it for more than a minute preferring to use it in short bursts instead.

I noticed my phone buzzing pulling my attention as I took a look at the screen

It had a notification on it linked to my web, 'so one of them is already here.'

The camera showed Doyle entering one of the parks, and spec was also spotted near Baki's school.

That's two of them spotted, if I had to guess the cameras around Doppo dojo should spot Dorian soon and Yanagi should be around Shibukawa's place, I have no idea where Sikorsky is right now and I doubt I would spot him before the meeting in the arena he isn't stupid.

None of them are. Spec just doesn't give a fuck that is why he was caught.

I started looking through the cameras that were near the Hanayama group arena of activities. It looks like the grandmaster is also moving from what I can see.

Thankfully I got Yuuri home without any incidents, she was a bit worried when I told her what was happening.

I didn't sugarcoat it. Tokyo was no longer a safe space, not with the five death row inmates around and the Grandmaster with his organisation about to go to war with the yakuza.

The only reason I didn't send her to Canada to stay with my mom was that I will need to face the Grandmaster, I don't know if they managed to clone Yujiro or not and I will not take that risk one is bad enough.

With a global organisation behind him, having her out of reach is not an option. I already have all the preparations in need to keep her safe here.

There isn't a single thing that can come within 2.5km/1.5 miles of my house without me knowing about it.

And there is a safe room underground with multiple reinforced steel doors blocking the way. It may seem like overkill but knowing the kind of monsters around this would just be buying me time if someone truly strong came around.

I have a similar setup back in Canada and mom may have had her spirit broken by yujiro but that doesn't mean she can't fight.

I'm currently watching the cameras in the arena that I put there at the start of the tournament.

From what I have seen the attacks on the yakuza should be tomorrow if I'm correct I would probably have to take care of spec myself since Hanayama would be in no shape to fight.

There isn't a set time for the scarface manga that introduced the grandmaster but from the scars on Hanayama's face in the manga it was probably after the fight with spec, probably after the Chinese tournament arc.

'Looks like I made the Grandmaster show up earlier than in the original timeline but That isn't a problem the sooner I can get rid of him the better'

Just as I finished that thought my phone started ringing picking it up "hello"

"Hey Jack"

"Mr.Tokugawa? Why are you calling me?"

"I wanted you to come to the arena"

'Of course, he would invite me' I sigh

"Is this about the death row inmates?"

"Oh you are well informed, yes it is are you coming"

"Sorry I'm busy, but I will keep an eye out on them maybe one of them will pique my interest, how about that"

I could hear the disappointment in his voice as he replied "fine.. but what do you mean you will keep an eye out"

'Oh he still doesn't know about the cameras' I smiled

"Don't worry about It, I got to go know goodbye, Mr.Tokugawa"

I ended the call with him as I went to check on Yuuri as I saw her coming out of the bathroom after a shower.

"Hey Yuu you okay"

She turned to look at me as she seemed a bit lost in thought

"Yeah it's just annoying knowing that so many things are happening and I'm just helpless"

I looked at her worried as she continued

"Just think about all those people going out of their home clueless as to the fact they may be killed by some monster in human skin just by a Chance.."

I grabbed her hand stopping her from continuing "Yuuri you are overthinking it was always like that is what accidents are I'm not trying to downplay your fears I understand them I wasn't always strong It took work to get where I'm today"

I smiled a bit as she looked at me "besides how many people out there could say they have a monster among monsters protecting them"

"Sorry I didn't mean it that way"

I laughed out loud causing her to pout at me

"Don't be silly I take that as a compliment you know what I am and you accept me for it you didn't try to change me or fix me like I was some broken toy That's why I'm with you and not any of the girls I have met so far because love doesn't just happen It takes work to build and maintain from both sides"

She smiled at that "we are like beauty and the beast, A big muscle-headed Perverted beast even if you do have your moments"

I gave her a stupid grin at that as I replied "oh why don't I show you how much of a beast I'm"

I lift her up as she yelped in surprise as I carried her upstairs. From the corner of my eyes, I could see my laptop screen showing a live feed from the arena showing all the death row inmates.

'So it begins'
