Currently im losing consciousness. breath away from dying inside a dark cave inside hell. Crazy I know.
How did it come to this you ask? For that let's return back in time
-Half an hour earlier.
I ran from Sir. Squashallot. It's so fun running. It could have been better if I would just have been going for a midnight jog, I haven't done one of those in a long time.
You know what, running for my life isn't so bad. Better yet ,what are the odds that he will decide to go after me. I looked back and immediately regretted doing so.
Why?
Our eyes connected as he went after me. I wasn't near the rest of the imps. The majority ran in a different direction. Seeing as he could overpower so many of them it should have been an easy pick to run where there was more prey. Why choose 1 imp. Then I realised the feeling I gave of and the rest of the imps was a bit different. I can't describe it in words but I seem to differ from them and the demon. I slow down and see a cave on the side. It's a small crack on the side of the mountain just wide enough to allow me to go threw. And so I went inside. I went as deep as I heard muffled sounds of him trying to get inside.
Impossible. I chose this cave for a reason. It was too narrow for him to squeeze himself. Forget him, I have very little maneuver space. The demon could only get inside at the first 10 meters deep. That would be difficult and he would need to crawl on all fours. After that he would be stuck...
Stuck. I grinned as a thought flashed. I have enough weapons to kill him if I land a good hit. I'm reffering to my claws and teeth. My claws are less then an option tho, as they are to short. I guess i'll have to depend on my maw. The rest of the demons couldn't do much to him because he was too strong and fast for them. But if he was stuck it was a different scenario alltogether. I crawled slowly to take a quick glance at him.
He was really stuck. He looked at me with a cold look in his eyes as I grinned and drew closer. Something seemed off. He is too calm. I didn't dare to come closer any further and froze. I looked at the walls. And then on the ground. The entire process took only several seconds. Several seconds to many.
He took a step and then another.
I fucked up. I realised I fucked up the moment I looked at the walls and the floor and resumed running deeper in the cave.
The mother fucker played me. I was played by an oversized ape.
I should have anticipated this. I should have kept running. I knew he was intelligent. There were a few things that indicated it.
In the beginning I saw that rest of the imps acted like animals. Apes to be precise. The way they walked on four, the growls and savagery in their attacks. All indicated that they didn't put an emphasis on strategy.
This story has been taken without authorization. Report any sightings.
The giant on the other hand walked on two and every attack was precise and hit its mark. Hit with a finess that could only be seen in armed combat between professionals. He moved silently with the least amount of wasted moves. It was very disturbing to just watch him coldly glancing at the imps as he slaughtered them.
I realised he probably had a human level of intelligence. Or at the very least something acking to it. I thought that he wasn't hunting us for food. He already got more then enough meat in the first minute of the massacre. So i projected the only other reason that someone will go on a hunt. Like humans. He might just be doing it for sports. Saw in it a form of entertainment and when he will see the majority of the imps go south he will go south. Not north the same way I was headed.
At this point things went bad and then worse.
After I saw the cave I thought that he will see it as a cramped space and give up. How naive of me.
Then the final nail in my coffin. It tried to attract my attention and for me to think he was stuck by making all that ruckus. He just wanted to save all the headack of following me in the cave. I under astimated his mind and then I under astimated his strength. The atrocity was strong enough to carve his way through the cave. Hence the debris on the floor.
I , in my Hybris thought that I caught him when in fact he caught me.
I realised it but it doesn't make a difference now.
The distance is too short. even when he needs to carve his way through the cave and widening the hall he was still faster then me.
Running away won't save me now. I need to act.
It's not wrong that the cave is more advantagous to me. It still somehow slows him down. He can't use his speed like he did there in the open. But he still has the upper hand...
Upper hand... He likes to hit things with his fists and kicks.
Then why not let him.
I waited till he was about to reach less then a meter then me then I changed my direction and went right under him.
I slipped between his legs. Because of the momentum of his fist and because he had to crawl on all fours he couldn't act to stop me from reaching his back.
Because of the restricted way it took him a while to face me again. By the time it took him to spin In place i jumped and lashed at his neck with my teeth.
Barbaric, I know but it did the trick.
I bit him so hard that a piece of his neck came off and blood was everywhere. While I was still trying to let the half torned neck out of my mouth he hit me.
I vomited a huge portion of blood and I knew I broke several of my ribs. The pain was more then anything i ever experienced in my life. I had difficult time breathing.
The giant fell on the ground and tried to crawl his way to me but he hit me to hard. He sent me flying to far away.
Mid way he died.
Even demons can die in hell. Even the damned can bleed.
But can the already deceased die a second death? If so is it the final death? I don't know. I'm too scared to think about it. I got lucky enough to kill him off. I don't think I'll be able to survive internal bleeding.
For fucks sake I need to find my wife. I can't die ye...
That day I passed out without noticing how the entire siruation unfolded. That unholy son of goat didn't die instantly. He didnt die because of the blood loss like you might expect a human would. He bled his soul out.
Later on I would find out how demons. That only have the intelligence of monkeys at the start and to develop coherent human like thoughts when they are very strong. But how do they become so strong, so smart. If it's an ape it might understand that 1+1=2. 1+2=3. But no matter how hard you try it won't understand why 1+1+1=3.
Never. They don't have the equipment for that.
Another point is i bleed ,have internal organs and finally became an imp then why am I still capable of human like thought when such thing should be impossible.
If your intellect doesn't depend on your brain then on what? It would take me a lot of time to find the answer.
The answer is the soul.
