Blood extraction was a necessary part of the experiments he was conducting, but Isao found it to be a monotonous and tedious task. If he could only find a more efficient method of extracting blood, it would save him a significant amount of time and frustration.
As a man, Isao prefers to be doing physical labor rather than being stuck in a lab, meticulously extracting blood. However, he knew that blood extraction was crucial for the success of his experiments.
"Could I manipulate my blood with mana to make the extraction process quicker?" Isao muttered to himself, deep in thought. To make his thoughts a reality, he envisioned his entire circulatory system, starting with his heart pumping blood through his veins and arteries. He imagined infusing his heart with mana, allowing it to enhance the efficiency of blood flow and speed up the extraction process.
Next. "Was it white blood cells or red blood cells that have DNA?" Isao pondered, trying to recall his knowledge of biology. "Eh, whatever, I'll just pump my liver and bone marrow with mana to produce both types of blood cells," he decided, visualizing his liver and bone marrow creating a constant supply of red and white blood cells. As his heart pumped more blood through his arteries, the blood, which hopefully contained more DNA due to the increased production of both cells, flowed to the extraction vials, where it would be collected for synthesis.
Player Isao acquired the skill “Blood Manipulation.”
After an hour or two of extracting his blood with his mana, Isao had obtained the skill, “Blood Manipulation”. Upon acquiring the skill, Isao found the process of extracting blood to be much simpler. This allowed him to easily extract the necessary amount of blood for Synthesis without any physical discomfort or complications.
Synthesis Complete. Lesser Drake DNA sample x20 was successfully created.
"Phew. For the ridiculous amount of blood I had to extract, to get only 20 was a bit... disappointing," Isao muttered to himself. "Oh well, at least I finally had enough to proceed with the experiments and creation of subordinates."
"Isao, it's time to eat," Joanne called out from the door. "You've been at it for hours; you need to take a break and get some food!" Isao sighed, realizing he had lost track of time. "Mm. I guess you're right, Joanne. I'll take a break and grab something to eat."
Standing up from his workbench, Isao stretched his stiff muscles and made his way outside. Seeing the desolate, hidden base devoid of any signs of life, Isao couldn't help but feel a sense of loneliness and isolation. "I'll have to hurry up and synthesize my future subordinates..."

During lunchtime, Isao once again bought relief supplies for the evacuees using the DP store, wishing to bring some comfort and support to those in need. As he passed them to Ava, he could only hope that his anxiety-induced preconceptions of the evacuees revolting would stay just that—preconceptions that were fueled by his own fears and insecurities.
"No one's showing any signs of violence or aggression, is there?" Isao asked Ava, his voice tinged with concern. He wanted to ensure the safety of both the evacuees and his own team, knowing that a peaceful and cooperative environment was crucial for a peaceful life inside the dungeon.
"None, my lord. Why do you ask?" Ava replied, her tone calm and reassuring. "We've been monitoring their behavior closely, and so far, they have been nothing but cooperative."
"Still, better be safe than sorry. Let's keep a close eye on them and continue to maintain a peaceful atmosphere. It's important to address any potential issues before they escalate."
"Understood, my lord." Ava nodded, her eyes focused and determined. "I will make sure to maintain open lines of communication with the team and address any concerns promptly."
After watching Ava leave the dining room, Joanne asked with a hint of skepticism. "Isao, aren't you being a bit too paranoid? They haven't shown any signs of trouble so far. I understand the importance of vigilance, but we shouldn't jump to conclusions without concrete evidence." "Perhaps, but it's always wise to be cautious. In times of uncertainty, it's better to be proactive rather than reactive," Isao replied calmly.
"Fine," Joanne conceded, "but let's not let our caution turn into unnecessary suspicion. We should still give them the benefit of the doubt until we have solid proof. It's important to maintain a balanced perspective and not let fear cloud our judgment." Isao nodded in agreement, understanding the need for rationality in their approach.
I have to prioritize synthesizing the monster, which would serve as the dungeon's head of intelligence, so I don't have to waste any more time on unnecessary speculation. Isao thought to himself as he munched on his lunch. "Cough, cough," Isao coughed, choking on a piece of food.
"See? That's why I told you to slow down and take your time," Joanne said, patting him on the back. "Here's your water."
***
Afternoon. As soon as Isao finished his lunch, he quickly got back to the research facility to work on his experiments and synthesizing. Isao knew that time was of the essence, and he couldn't afford any more delays. He had a lot to accomplish before the day was over.
Synthesis Complete. The Lesser Draconian Slime, Lesser Draconian Skeleton, and Lesser Gob-Drake were successfully created.
Isao carefully examined the specimens, pleased with the progress he had made.
For the first one, the Lesser Draconian Slime, by mixing slime DNA with Lesser Drake DNA, Isao was able to create a much stronger variety of slime. The synthesis didn't completely eliminate the inherent weaknesses of the slime, but it was a significant improvement. Magic and piercing attacks were now less effective against the Lesser Draconian Slime, making it a formidable opponent on the battlefield.
Moving on to the Lesser Draconian Skeleton, Isao combined an undead skeleton with the DNA of a Lesser Drake, resulting in a skeletal creature that possessed enhanced strength and agility. Although its weakness to holy magic remained, the addition of the Lesser Drake DNA made it more resistant to physical attacks.
Lastly, the Lesser Gob-Drake was another Goblin and Lesser Drake hybrid created by Isao. Unlike the first one, which had more goblin features, this hybrid leaned more towards the traits of a lesser drake. As a monster created as a steed, he merged its ability to reproduce from goblins with the Lesser Drake's ability to fly. This unique combination allowed the Lesser Gob-Drake to serve as both a formidable mount and an aerial scout for Isao's forces. Its wings, inherited from the Lesser Drake, granted it superior maneuverability in the air, making it a valuable asset in battle.
"Eh, these monsters are not yet strong enough to be the core of our army," Isao remarked, observing the synthesized monsters. With the Lesser Draconian Goblin, the four monsters could only be relied on to guard the dungeon's first few floors.
With his four extra Lesser Drake DNA samples, as the other 13 samples would be used for the higher-ups of his dungeon, Isao decided to experiment further. This time, instead of synthesizing it with monster DNA, he would merge it with non-organic materials such as metal and stone. By infusing the Lesser Drake's DNA with these inanimate substances, he hoped to create creatures or inorganic substances that could possess enhanced durability and strength.
Synthesis Complete. The Lesser Draconian Rock Golem was successfully created.
Although Isao just used rocks bought with Dungeon Points, he was pleased with the results. The Lesser Draconian Rock Golem has a much higher resistance to physical attacks compared to its non-draconian counterpart. Additionally, the infusion of the Lesser Drake's DNA has granted the Rock Golem a heightened level of intelligence, although on a goblin's level.
Synthesis Complete. A Drake Iron was successfully created.
For this synthesis, Isao used a combination of iron ingots and the DNA of a Lesser Drake. Instead of creating a new creature, he intends to create a new magic iron, which would be used to forge weapons and armor with enhanced durability and resistance to physical attacks.
"How about an intelligent weapon?" he mused, thinking aloud. Opening the DP catalog, Isao searched for something that could imbue the Drake Iron with sentience and intelligence. If possible, he wants to forge a gun for Joanne that not only possesses enhanced penetrative power and accuracy but also has the ability to analyze and adapt to different combat situations.
The tale has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.
A gun that could also use magic and change forms, either becoming a M4A1 rifle or a dual-wielding pistol, depending on the situation. Isao envisioned a weapon that could seamlessly switch between long-range precision and close-quarters firepower, giving Joanne the versatility she needed in any battle. Additionally, he wanted the intelligent weapon to have the capability to communicate with its wielder, providing real-time tactical suggestions and warnings during combat.
"Would a ghost monster be applicable?" Isao considered the idea of incorporating the idea of having a ghost possess the weapon, although it might make it a cursed weapon instead of a holy weapon for a hero. While it might make the process of creating the intelligent weapon easier, it also poses the risk of the weapon becoming unpredictable and potentially dangerous. Isao weighed the pros and cons, contemplating whether the potential benefits of a ghost possessing the weapon outweighed the potential risks it posed to its wielder.
And as Isao scrolled through the holographic catalog, he found an odd item that caught his attention: "Soul". Instead of the dungeon's usual currency of DP, this item's price was listed as mana. Intrigued, Isao read the item's description, which explained that the "soul" grants the item the essence of a "newly reincarnated soul,, giving it life and a mind of its own. Furthermore, since it is only a "newly reincarnated soul,, it is untainted by experiences and memories of a previous life.
Synthesis Complete. An intelligent weapon (a gun) was successfully created.
With the creation of the Intelligent Weapon, Isao was filled with a mix of excitement and curiosity. He couldn't help but wonder how this weapon would behave and what kind of power it possessed.
The intelligent weapon was in the shape of a flintlock, with intricate engravings and a polished wooden handle. Isao carefully inspected the weapon, admiring its craftsmanship and attention to detail. As he held it in his hands, he could feel faint mana emanating from the weapon, indicating its magical properties.
"Wait, wait. I've still got other experiments to make." Isao admonished himself, determined not to get too distracted by the allure of the Intelligent Weapon. He knew that he needed to remain focused on his original purpose and continue with his research. With a sense of anticipation, he set the weapon aside for now, eager to uncover its secrets at a later time.
"It might be a good decision to imbue my synthesized monsters with soul," Isao thought to himself as he placed it back on his desk.
However, at this point in time, the dungeon master, Isao, was unaware of the potential consequences that could arise from such an experiment. Even though it would bring more advantages to his dungeon, headaches and complications would also arise in the future from giving his monsters a soul.
***
"Time to make my 13 apostles, I guess," Isao muttered under his breath as he began preparing for the synthesis. All of the earlier experiments were for this exact moment, the culmination of his efforts and research. He had carefully selected monster DNA for the 13 monsters that would become the backbone of his dungeon.
Opening 12 holographic instances of the Synthesis interface, Isao carefully inputted the genetic data for each monster, ensuring that the synthesis process would be successful. As he worked, a mix of excitement and trepidation filled his mind. He couldn't help but wonder what kind of beings his creations would become and how they would shape the future of his dungeon.
Manipulating the mana from the mana vein, Isao created vessels for each monster, carefully infusing them with the necessary energy to sustain their existence. With each vessel completed, Isao felt a surge of anticipation, knowing that soon his dungeon would come alive with the presence of these unique and powerful creatures.
And as the last component for their synthesis, Isao added the "soul" essence, a vital ingredient that would give his creations sentience and individuality. As he carefully poured the soul essence into each vessel, Isao couldn't help but wonder how these beings would evolve and interact with one another within the confines of his dungeon and with the outside world.
As the light subsided, the newly created beings stood before their creator, ready to fulfill their purpose. All of them were unique in their own way, possessing distinct abilities and characteristics that would aid them in their designated tasks.
Synthesis Complete. The Cunning Brownie was created.
"Uh, I'm pretty sure I synthesized brownie DNA and demon DNA?" Isao wondered as he looked at the creature before him. "And not a cat-sith DNA and a silky DNA. Though a silky's still a brownie, I guess? " His confusion was evident as he observed the maid in maid cosplay, with genuine cat ears and tail. Isao scratched his head, trying to make sense of the unexpected outcome.
"Next one, I guess." Isao shrugged off his confusion and focused on the next creature he created.
Synthesis Complete. The Capybara Beastman was created.
"Phew, this one at least didn't turn out as strange as the first," Isao muttered with relief. He observed the Capybara Beastman, a combination of capybara and human DNA, with curiosity. Its large, round eyes and friendly demeanor made it seem almost approachable.
Synthesis Complete. The Seraph was created.
Isao observed the blind woman with approval as she stood gracefully in line with his other creations. She seemed to radiate an aura of strictness and serenity, her wings shimmering with an ethereal glow. The dungeon master couldn't help but wonder how her blindness affected her perception of the world and if it heightened her other senses.
Synthesis Complete. The Fox Beastwoman was created.
"Mm-hm, kitsune and kimono seem to go hand in hand," Isao mused to himself as he admired the Fox Beastwoman's elegant attire. Her fur was a striking shade of red, contrasting beautifully with the intricate patterns on her kimono. He wondered if the choice of clothing was a reflection of his own cultural biases or if it was a deliberate move by the dungeon system.
Synthesis Complete. The Griffin was created.
The griffon was a bipedal beast, standing on its eagle-like talons with its wings folded neatly against its back. It had the head of an eagle, with a sharp beak and piercing eyes that seemed to hold wisdom beyond its years. "The only lion parts of the griffon," he thought, "were its arms, tail, and the tuft of fur that adorned its chest."
Synthesis Complete. The demon was created.
"Tsk, it isn't a Sebas-like demon," Isao muttered to himself, disappointed with himself. He had hoped to create a demon like Sebas, although now that he thought about it, he realized that Sebas in the anime wanted the soul of the protagonist just because his soul is unique.
In Isao's eyes, the silver lining was that he had successfully created a demon that could pass as a human. The demon had the appearance of a slender young man with sharp features and piercing blue eyes. But he wasn't wearing butler clothes; instead, he was dressed like a common thug, with ripped jeans and a leather jacket.
Synthesis Complete. The Cecaelia was created.
"I'm not looking at that," Isao muttered under his breath, averting his gaze from the grotesque creature before him. The cecaelia's twisted form resembled that of Chulthu himself, with its mouth filled with rows of sharp, jagged teeth and its tentacles writhing menacingly. All of its hair and limbs were tentacles, giving it a truly nightmarish appearance.
My sanity stat, if I had that, would definitely be taking a hit right now, Isao thought to himself. He couldn't help but wonder how such a horrifying creature came to exist in the first place. "
Synthesis Complete. The Dryad was created.
"Haah, what a relief," Isao sighed, grateful that the creation of the Dryad had diverted his attention from the cecaelia.
The dryad stood before him, a beautiful and ethereal being with flowing green hair and delicate features. Isao couldn't help but feel a sense of calm wash over him in her presence, as if she held the power to counteract the horrors he had just witnessed.
Synthesis Complete. The armored slime was created.
The Armored Slime, an original monster from Isao, was a formidable entity with a Lesser Draconian Skeleton as its skeletal framework, a Lesser Draconian Rock Golem as its outer shell, and a slimy interior of the Lesser Draconian Slime. Its armored exterior provided protection, while its slimy interior allowed it flexibility in combat. The skeletal framework provided a sturdy foundation, allowing it to withstand powerful attacks. This remarkable creation showcases the ingenuity and creativity of its creator.
"Hmph," Isao scoffed, crossing his arms. "I say, I definitely made such a marvelous creature. Its unique combination of the skeletal framework, armored exterior, and slimy interior makes it a formidable opponent on the battlefield. The ingenuity and creativity behind its design truly sets it apart from any other creature I have ever seen." Isao's pride in his creation was evident as he admired the intricate details and flawless execution of his masterpiece."
Synthesis Complete. The Succubus was created.
"Is she really a succubus?" Isao wondered as he observed the woman, who looked like a corporate slave who had been abused for years. Her weary eyes behind the geeky glasses betrayed a lifetime of hardship; she also had freckles scattered across her pale skin, giving her an innocent and vulnerable appearance.
At least her boobs were a redeeming quality, Isao thought to himself, as he couldn't help but notice their ample size and perfect shape. However, he quickly dismissed his shallow thoughts and reminded himself that he still had work to do.
Synthesis Complete. The warlock was created.
"Is he one of those shotajiji, those old men who looked like young boys?" Isao wondered, his curiosity piqued by the warlock's youthful appearance. "Well, at least he looked like a stereotypical warlock with his long, flowing robes, oversized staff, and cone hat," Isao mused, trying to reconcile the warlock's appearance with his preconceived notions. He couldn't help but feel intrigued by the enigmatic aura that surrounded the warlock, wondering what secrets and powers lay hidden beneath his youthful facade.
Synthesis Complete. The Queen of Vermin was created.
"Uh, from Chulthu, and now we have Sadako? Is this horror?" Isao asked himself. The dungeon master observed the last of his synthesized monsters: a woman with long, flowing hair, the right side white and the left side black, her eyes piercing and filled with a haunting intensity. Here and there, insects and other creepy crawlies scurried across her body. She was definitely the Queen of Vermin.
"My lord! I'm back!" Ava exclaimed, bursting into the room. "Oh! Are they the other monsters that you've created? They look strong!"
"You're done already, Isao?" Joanne was the next to enter the room, her voice filled with curiosity. The fluffball rabbit on her hands, Isao's first-ever synthesized monster, hopped down and approached the twelve newly born creatures. Once it reached them, "Kyu!" it let out a high-pitched squeal, seemingly excited to meet its fellow creations.
"I'm done with the 12 of my 13 apostles," Isao proudly announced, a sense of accomplishment evident in his voice. "And I just have to synthesize one more to complete the monsters, which will make up the backbone of the dungeon," he explained, his eyes looking at Ava.
"What's the matter, my lord?" Ava asked, noticing Isao's gaze. "I remember you asking for punishment for the incident yesterday," Isao began. "I'm just wondering if you're willing to undergo synthesis."
"Isao!" Joanne exclaimed, her voice filled with anger and concern. "You can't be—" "I would love to, my lord!" Interrupted Ava, excitement gleaming in her eyes. "That incident showed my weakness, my lord. I am eager to prove myself and become stronger. Synthesis will be a valuable opportunity for me to grow and overcome my shortcomings." Ava's determination resonated in her voice as she expressed her willingness to undergo the process.
"Very well, Asvarani," Isao replied, his tone calm yet authoritative. "I appreciate your enthusiasm and desire to improve. Now, come and kneel before me so that we may begin the synthesis."
And so Ava obediently approached Isao and kneeled before him, her heart pounding with anticipation. Isao's mana flowed through his fingertips as he placed his right hand on Ava's head, while his left hand operated the holographic interface that controlled the process. After inserting the lich's DNA into the appropriate spot, the dungeon master turned on the synthesis. Light surrounded Ava as the synthesis began, illuminating the room with a soft glow and then gradually intensifying.
Synthesis Complete. The Lich Princess was created.
Once the light reached its peak and began to fade, Ava's body underwent a transformation. Her once dark hair now shimmered with an otherworldly silver glow and streaks of crimson, as though Ava bathed in the blood of fallen enemies. Her eyes, once a deep brown, now glowed with an eerie green hue, reflecting the power that coursed through her veins. The Lich Princess had risen, ready to unleash her newfound abilities upon the world.
"Now that the 13 Dungeon Apostles are complete," Isao declared, "our conquest for the city's dominance can begin." The 13 Dungeon Apostles, each possessing their own unique and formidable powers, with Ava as their leader, kneeled before Isao, their loyalty evident in their unwavering gazes.
"For your first mission," Isao continued, "you have to study these books on different areas of study for governing and ruling a city. Understanding the intricacies of economics, politics, and social dynamics will be crucial in establishing our dominance and maintaining control! Is that understood?" the dungeon master shouted, his hands stacked on top of the books he bought with DP.
The 13 monsters looked at each other in confusion before finally nodding their heads in agreement. "Yes, my lord!" they exclaimed in unison, their voices filled with determination.
