05 – …to fall over, …

05 – …to fall over, …

*****

Abhi came up with an idea, but she first needed to confirm something. She gathered the magic around her and compressed it between her palms, pressing them together as if in prayer.

However, what Abhi didn't expect was that the magic went into her palms and flowed into her arms, settling in her heart where her own magic was.

She repeated this process multiple times until there was no magic power left in the surrounding area that she could gather into herself. When she finished, she felt her left eye becoming slightly warmer than it should be.

She was unaware that her left eye was glowing and its pupil had turned into a three-pointed star, giving off a sinister feeling to anyone who might see it.

Unaware of that fact, Abhi proceeded with her plan and stood up, and closed her eyes. She stretched her hand upwards and let her magic power flow out of her hand until a bright ball of light manifested above her outstretched hand and grew to the size of a bowling ball.

Abhi opened her eyes and looked at the ball of light. She nodded in satisfaction and shrunk the ball of light to the size of a ping-pong ball.

On her other hand, she repeated the process multiple times until she had countless balls of light floating around her. The sight was quite blinding, but that was just perfect for her plan to work. To counter the light, she created a transparent strip of dark ice and made it float in front of her eyes, so the light no longer affected her vision.

Nodding in satisfaction once again, she conjured the same fire sword she had before, but this time it was much hotter and had a purple color. With it, she cut open the door and ran out. There were no guards in sight, so she just kept running. Without her realizing it, her magic power made her weight much lighter, which helped her run faster and more easily.

Observing her surrounding under her sunglasses, she was relieved that she didn't just go and made the walls explode. Had she done that, her body might as well be one with the earth by now.

After a while of running, Abhi arrived at a door, there beside it was a tall individual resting as he leaned onto the wall.

Abhi thought that this person is here to guard so she covered the tall person's whole body in mud up to his mouth. The mud would likely come off if he wet himself or if the dried earth was softened.

It was quite mean, but Abhi wasn't so naive as to be nice to the people who abducted her. If anything, they deserve it for what they're doing to a child. To her.

Having taken care of that guy - who somehow didn't even wake up - Abhi sneaked past him and leaned onto the wooden door and peeked into the keyhole to see what was on the other side.

What she saw annoyed her to no end as it just posed an even greater problem than this heavily sleeping guy behind her. Beyond the door were people silently playing cards, for goodness' sake!

Her ears twitched in irritation. Even the slightest noise could give her away if she tried to sneak past them. If she were caught, it would be the end of her mission. She had only brought the light orbs as a last resort and had not intended to use them unless absolutely necessary!

However, she had no other option but to attempt to sneak past them. "If only I could become invisible," she thought to herself, still unaware of how overpowered her ability was, due to the author's creative choices.

How in the world is she supposed to sneak past them with all these oh-so-bright light balls around her again?

Not having thought of this, Abhi just decided to cloak herself in a dark veil… wait, dark?

"How stupid of me!" She thought to herself. Right! She can just make the whole room go dark while she run past them into the door she saw on the other side of the room!

So her magic power did just that after she had decided. It influenced the magic power leaking off the people inside and the magic power in the room itself, causing it to go dark from out of nowhere. Alarming the dozen or so people inside on the process.

Ah-

But now that the room's dark and there's nothing she can see, how is she going to avoid the people inside and reach the other door?

"How stupid of me!" She thought to herself once again. Still not realizing that her magic literally abides by her will even to this point…

So she just decided to spray and pray! Wait, wrong! Yeah, let's bring back the previous narrator.

Ekhem

Having realized her mistake, Abhi paused to hear and understand better what was happening inside. When she focused on it, her ears flinched in response, and her hearing sharply rose and she could hear and register every word that was being said inside. Too bad she still doesn't know the language, aside from the occasional pronouns and food names she heard.

And a second after her, she started to pick up a couple of rushed footsteps inside the room coming toward her and the door. So Abhi decided to do what any sane person would do in that situation. Make the hallway dark too!

Although she can't understand them, she heard the panic and confusion in the people's voices and almost chuckled a little. She held back her newly-discovered naughty side and ran into the room while sticking near the walls. The panic had died down and there were only three or four people left who were out and panicking. Circling around the room near the walls, Abhi reached the wooden door with a small thud.

If you spot this narrative on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation.

She did the right thing, slicing the door with a flaming katana like a samurai. Who knew magic could be this fun, and who knew she'd only get to let loose like this when she ended up getting kidnapped!? Truly a lucky occurrence. Her fun was short-lived when she heard a new voice just behind her.

The moment she heard the person's voice, she knew that she is trouble. Just by her tone, Abhi could deduce that this woman right here is going to be the biggest roadblock to her path to freedom.

The woman stood, donning her revealing outfit that emphasized her curved figure. Although it was not the time for it, Abhi felt a little jealous. Only a little. Just a speck. As small as a speck of dust. Yes.

The woman said things with her sweet seductive voice but Abhi could only look at her with caution. She's obviously a big bad figure here, so Abhi should be more than cautious.

Thinking of a way past her, Abhi decided to try her plan and threw three light balls at the woman.

The woman brought out daggers from behind her and attempted to cut down and parry light balls but they only passed through them. There's no substance to them, they're just balls.

Abhi clenched her fists and the balls exploded into a small blinding sun right at the face of the wide-eyed woman, blinding her. Abhi didn't know if the damage will be permanent but she can only hold back her guilt and do the same she did to the other guard to this woman and do it thicker.

Not knowing where to go, Abhi ran into the corridor only to bump into the same heavily armored man adorned with golden accessories. The man laughed sinisterly under his helmet before grabbing Abhi by the hair and harshly lifting her up. Although Abhi felt pain, thanks to her magic lightening her body, it didn't amount to anything else.

The man said things here and there, but Abhi pushed him away with a huge gust of wind and ice, causing the man's armor to turn white from the sheer cold. His grip on Abhi's hair waned and she managed to drop down to the ground.

She stood up to do more but was surprised when a fist connected to her abdomen and knocked out all air inside of her. The man had punched her probably to knock her out but Abhi somehow managed to stay conscious through sheer will.

The man grabbed her by the throat and pinned her to the wall. Abhi could feel his arrogance through his helmet as he held her. But before he could choke Abhi to unconsciousness, she heated up his armor to dangerous heights and made him groan. His grip on Abhi's neck tightened and she could no longer breathe.

So before she passes out, she increased the heat fold after fold. The shin guard the man was wearing along with the rest of his armor was dangerously bright but he still wouldn't let go. As a last resort, Abhi did what she can only imagine psychopaths would do. She set the man on fire.

"Aaaghhh!" Shouts the man as he lets go of Abhi's throat and ran around in a panicked fit. Abhi could only look at him in horror. It finally set in, she finally realized how terrifying her power actually is and she could only cry as she looked at her hands.

So just like before… she ran.

Away from the man, away from the terrifying scene she had caused. Away from the fleeting guilt building up inside her. To somewhere she will feel better, to somewhere she will feel safe, to somewhere she will feel comfortable. To Mia's arms.

She could almost feel her embrace, anticipation building up as she ran out of the underground tunnel into the woods. She's out, and she can almost taste Mia's cooking as she runs! But too bad… fate doesn't work like that.

"You daamn braaat!"

Her body shivered and started trembling just from the mere anger in the voice of the person.

She couldn't help but look back, as curiosity and fear overwhelmed her. She saw that several dozen meters away, running towards her at high speeds was the same person she had burned alive. The same person who had wanted to choke her and now the same person who would kill her.

Abhi grimaced at the thought, she didn't want to die. She stumbled in fear, this was different from anything she had experienced before. No one had ever shown such intent to kill her in either of her lives.

In fear, she forced herself to stand and run away from the person, despite her trembling legs making it difficult. The stress and fear caused her eyes to tear up and she began to cry. Her mind was in disarray, she didn't know what to do except run. How laughable.

All the years she could have used, all the opportunities that came her way. But she was too proud to change the way she lived. She wanted to blame her suffering on her parents who neglected her. She wanted them to look at her and feel sorry for her and finally love her, and then she would reject them the same way they rejected her. All for such a small-minded thought. Even though there were many things she could have done instead of wasting away in a factory that didn't value her, she didn't.

How truly laughable.

Drowning herself in self-loath, self-pity, and self-grief. Such an ugly person she is.

A person like her doesn't deserve love. She doesn't deserve any love. She deserves no one's love. Wanting love but not working for it, such a repulsive and disgusting person she is.

In the midst of her breakdown, a stone struck her right leg hard, causing her to fall face down onto the muddy ground due to the rain.

She could only look back in fear. The person was catching up to her and she needed to get up quickly.

But her leg was broken, she could tell from the pain. Her fear intensified and the burnt face of the man further scared her. The grin on his face as he reached out to her was terrifying.

"No…" in fear she muttered. "No… no, no! I don't want to die… no… no, no no no NOOOO!" She started shouting as the man pulled her by the legs. She tried clawing away but the man was far stronger than she was. Her magic was in disarray, just like her emotions and thoughts.

The girl's struggles irritated the man, and her waving tail further irritated him, so he grabbed it and pulled it hard, throwing the girl in his direction. The girl was now struggling under his weight as he held her down by the neck.

Abhi could no longer shout, she was being choked again, and there was no way out this time. So she closed her eyes, anticipating her own death.

But the man's hands released her throat and instead held both of her hands above her head. Abhi was confused but was too scared to open her eyes and see what the person was doing.

But then she felt a hand that forced her head to look up at the man's face. Her eyes were forced open by the sudden force. The sight of the man's burnt face only managed to further scare her, and her tears flooded out of her eyes.

He let go of her face and tore open the vest she was wearing along with the one-piece dress beneath it. Abhi realized what the man was about to do. She struggled harder only to receive a punch to the abdomen. She almost passed out, and the action caused her head to be thrown into a daze.

This is worse than dying…

But before the man could defile her any further, his figure suddenly vanished and his disgusting sight was replaced by the loving face of Mia. At that same moment, Abhi could no longer hold on to her consciousness and passed out.

But before she completely lost consciousness, she felt the warm embrace she had recently learned of.

Mia could only sigh in relief as she hugged her daughter and felt her breathing. She could only blame her own negligence for causing this whole ordeal, and could only look at the man who had almost done the unimaginable to her daughter with complete disgust and anger.

"Any last words before I end your disgusting self?" She asked the man who was panting and holding his own injury in place.

"Heh… cough… yeah, I still have some things to say… that is…" the man fell on his side and then on his back as he looked up at Mia.

"I still have a card under my sleeves…" This made Mia cautious as she looked at the man.

"Let's see how you feel about having your arm torn apart, Mia Grand! Reflektieren!"

As the man finished talking, the blood in his body exploded out of his body. Mia turned around and shielded Abhi with her large figure. She didn't know what that was, but she knew that his blood was dangerous.

But then, her own left arm exploded and sprayed blood and flesh all over the grass.

"Kuh!?" And at that moment, Mia Grand lost her left arm.
