Golden eyes flashed as they moved from shadow to shadow, stalking for its prey. Suddenly it stiffened and creeped silently toward a brown rabbit munching on stalks of grass. The eyes watched unblinking as the rabbit ate in a carefree manner. The rabbit hopped forward to look for the next delicious patch of grass, but sharp incisors had already crunched on its neck in the moment its paws left the ground.
Lapping the rabbit’s blood, the golden eyes squinted in dissatisfaction.
Leaving the carcass behind the irises returned to the shadows searching for prey once more. Hearing a rustle in the distance it rushed toward its next meal. To its dismay it was only another rabbit. As the eyes scrunched up in frustration a faint yet delicious scent wafted through the air.

Silently following the scent, it quickly came upon a severely cracked cliff face. Not wanting to test its sturdiness, it climbed a tall tree and peered over the surprisingly small and thin mountain from within the leaves.
There, it found creatures like itself, but of another hue. Frightened yet entranced by the smell it cautiously scanned the clamorous area for the source of the smell. Soon the golden eyes settled on one of the many broken nest of sticks where creatures gathered. They gave the creature in the nest bright brown pebbles and in return were given the source of the scent.
Apprehensive yet excited, the eyes gleamed as they quickly returned to the ground to search for its own pebbles.
