I had been stabbed. Aleasha cackled at me, black eyes gleaming. But she had been stabbed, too. She collapsed to the ground, bleeding and laughing. In a minute she was gone. I saw Tyler come running up to me, kneeling beside me, screaming my name. He touched me cheek gently, his eyes filled with desperation and disbelief, almost as if he didn't really understand what was happening. But he did. He and I both did. I actually believed we could do this. I believed we could be together. I believed it all. But it was a fairytale. Pure imagination. It could never have actually happened, no matter what he tried. I was a fool to believe it.
