An estranged passenger seeking a new lift on mars experiences regret when an asteroid crashes into the intergalactic cruise he is on. He struggles with his desire for independance and self-reliance, and his biological need for familial love and company. He meets a girl who thinks by clinging onto thoughts of her brother she can avoid having to feel lonely.
