The level of someone's talent in cultivation and body tempering is based on the highest stage they can reach without precious resources or luck. Magic talent is based on their inherent aptitude with certain traits or elements and their ability to store/absorb mana.
There will be no information on what the different stages implies, only their names (except for magic.) When they grow common knowledge or obsolete, I'll add the descriptions.
(Numbers represents levels or number of things required in each stage)

Magic (only talent):
Magical talent is split into two parts: aptitude and mana well. During elementary assessment done by a measuring orb, only the aptitude is looked at because a strong mana well is worthless without the required manipulation talent.
Aptitude:
Broken
Frail
Solid
Robust
Resilient
Infallible
Mana well:
Shallow
Moderate
Deep
Abyssal
Hadal
Ultrahadal
Bottomless (one can not be born with talent of this level, it can only be reached)
Magicians are also split into different levels according to their accomplishments, namely:
Apprentice: Is learning the basics of magic, can feel mana and personalize it to a certain extent, but is yet to engrave a spell on their soul.
Channeler: Has one or more spells—complex runic combinations and connections—engraved on their very souls. This process can only be completed with a magical aptitude, the higher the level, the greater the ability to engrave. It also decides how many engravings you can hold; there is a limit. They can then channel energy through the soul engravings, lead it through the mana well, and into the world for the spell to activate.
It’s important to note that while the aptitude is located only in the soul, the mana well—for almost everyone—is more like a gateway between the heart and soul. One where mana can pass through, but also be stored.
Conduit: Your mana can take on the properties and information for any soul engraving instantaneously, leaving only the physical guidance of mana to the mage.
Soul caster (different from soul magic, which is a type of magic): These mages can manifest their soul engravings in the physical world, and use ambient mana to cast them instantaneously. It is important to note that the mages can not control the ambient mana themselves, it only circulates within the projected engraving, nothing more.
Dominator: These are apex magicians who transcend all other levels before them. They can finally control the world's mana like their own, thus allowing them to cast spells without rest for—theoretically—ever. This also means they can control the common aspects inside other mages’ personal mana, disabling them from casting spells in their presence. They dominate both the world, and other magicians, all the while cultivators fear their infinite destructive potential.
