Prologue-miracle

In a dimension outside and adjacent to Therin the plane of mortals, but not of Aetherius or Hades, this dimension, this plan was someplace fundamentally different from creation, something  Other. The Other was not inhabited by demons, angels or gods, nor was it populated with the likes of the mortal races of Men and Mer.To the few beings capable of conscious in this bizarre place, it was home. In the Other, there was a cave. in that cave that was also not a cave, there was a being that at first glance resembled a woman, she was not tall or fat, skinny or large in fact the most one could glean from looking at this strange creature was she was made entirely of shadows of the darkest kind. her hair like the rest of her was made of inky black substance constantly moving as if it had a life of its own. This entity standing in this shadowy cave was not a mortal woman, she was one of the kin,  as they called themselves. This entity was not like the rest of her kind, She was the original the first and only sentient member of her species. her hair was constantly moving and shifting the only bits of color that showed were her eyes perfectly shaped orbs of brilliant light if one could stand her gaze without being blinded one might them beautiful.  The shadow woman’s eyes were a sharp contrast to rest of her body which was constantly shifting leaving wisps of shadows when shadows when she moved. Mortals and gods alike gave this being many names, The dark elves reverently called this strange being  The Shadow mother the night and hard truths. The high elves most their race feared known her Lady Wraith when  many of the high elves  spoke of her usually broad daylight  for it was said she could her thru shadows called her the bringer of vengeance, but  most of the mortal races  simply called her The Mother

The Mother waited and watched hundreds of shadow mass of darkness in front of her, with a hint fear and excitement. She felt her anticipation mounting, today was a special day after all, how could she not be excited? How could she not after all this time have hope? She watched, waiting for her brood to hatch her eyes' emitting light like miniature suns in the darkness, her light-filled gazing sweeping over her brood. Hundreds of clusters of an inky writhing mass of something other was slowly taking on shape and definition one by one The Mother watched daring to hope, the shadowy things took on more and more definition each one of these creatures forms she knew would be unique and special in their own way. Each one the kin would be different all for one crucial detail, they did not have her eyes or any eyes for that matter. The mother watched in growing frustration her hope slowly draining away as each one of her brood beings as another one of the mindless like the rest of kin without eyes and without a mind without thought just another drone. She walked among the clusters of the Mindless becoming more desperate as more and more of brood came out eyeless. finally, she stood in front of the last ball of inky something being born. The mother knelt down by a ball of inky darkness and with and started to weep. Glowing tears of light leaked down her shadowy face from her luminescent eyes. The mother picked up the ball of shadow and held it her chest. The mother whispered to the ball she held it to her chest tightly she was still kneeling her,  she whispered to the ball her voice was soft and sad “please just this once” The Mother put all her hopes and dreams into those words again she whispered  “just this once” tears still flowing. slowly the ball of shadow began to take shape the mother quickly set the rapidly expanding ball down on the cavern floor and watched with glowing tear-filled eyes. Slowly the shape of a little girl with long shadowy hair spilling from her head to the cavern floor the girl had the look of six or seven years she looked like a mortal elf with a heart-shaped face and slender pointed ears. Like the rest of The mother’s brood the little girl was made entirely of shadows, then slowly ever so slowly the little girl looked up at the mothers meeting The mother’s tear-filled gaze. the little kid's eyes were like The mothers containing a blinding luminescent light a sharp contrast to the rest of girl’s kin shadowy form. The mother gasped and pulled the newborn shadow girl to her chest enveloping confused newborn kin a hug. The mother held her child close happy glowing tears spilling into the shadow girls hair, she whispered to herself though happy tears  “finally I have a daughter, a beautiful little girl” The mother sat on the ground in her cavern surrounded by the mindless with her daughter in her lap. Her smile like her eyes was luminescent filled  with an inner light
