Hi, my name is Caelus. At least that’s what I will be going by in this book. I’ll be using aliases for everyone in my book.
For the past few lifetimes I have been doing research on my curse. I’ve come to a lot of conclusions. This time I think I found a way out. I have decided to list all the major points in my lifetimes. I want to leave something behind when I’m gone.
Loop 3 Day 1
I’m back… again… I am getting another chance. I’m getting another chance! I know what is going to happen. I know I dropped the knife last time. Before my mind fully leaves the darkness, I grip my hand.
I’m making sandwiches. I take in the smell of the room around me. It smells like home. It smells like love. I hate this place.
These are the people that forced me into that place. These are the people that died because they wouldn’t believe what I was saying.
I had thought a lot about it, a lot. They probably didn’t believe me because of the way I told the story. If I had remained calm instead of getting so angry when they didn’t listen, maybe they’d have heard me out.
I make the sandwiches. I run up the stairs and happily hand the delicious sandwich to Chelsea. She smiles at me as she eats.
I decide on a plan in moments. I remember everything that has happened in my previous two lives. I smile pleasantly at Chelsea.
My plan is simple.
I tell Chelsea about the future. Of course she didn’t believe me. “I can prove it though.”
Loop 3 Day 2
I am at a gas station. I am buying a lottery ticket. The numbers I am going to pick will be the winning numbers. Why wouldn’t I pick those if I knew them?
I also buy a few snacks to share with Chelsea.
When I get back I show her the tickets. I tell her everyone of them is going to be a winner. She doesn’t believe me, but she will.
Loop 3 Day 8
I’m going to Austin today. The numbers they announced were identical to mine. Imagine that. I am driving with my girlfriend to get the money.
She is unsure about what will happen to our relationship once I have the money. I have a plan for it. I’ve been making plans for the past year.
She believes me now. I knew she would. I am taking her with me to go to get the money from the Mega Million. It was worth over a hundred million at this point.
When we get there it is a huge deal about receiving the money.
Loop 3 Day 10
We are back in Denton. Kelsey and I decide not to tell her parents about me. We look around a bit today. We find several potential housing locations, and decide to discuss it later.
The housing locations were each able to overlook a wide area, and could be burrowed under. The plots of land were each several acres at least. We make sure to only choose from the largest and most stable plots. The plots are only a few miles away from where we live.
We will be within driving distance no matter which one we choose.
Loop 3 Day 11
Today we pick the land we wanted. We pick a field about 1280 acres. That’s about two miles by one mile. We decide that should be more than enough for our plans.
I call up several contractors, and file all the needed paperwork. The contractors tell me they will be out within a few days to inspect the land.
If you spot this story on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation.
The promise of extra pay entices them to come tomorrow. Greasing palms even speeds up the paperwork process.
We go around buying most of the requirements that the bunker would need for extremely lengthy stays underground.
We also buy enough gasoline to drown an elephant. If the other lives have shown me anything, it was that gasoline is the world’s greatest commodity once the terrors began.
Loop 3 Day 24
Today I started working on one of the massive amounts of machines I will need. I looked up every bit of required info online, or in engineering books.
My perfect memory seems to be the most useful tool I have during life.
The machines cost over a million dollars just for the parts. I still buy them.
I also start watching the stock market. This will provide intellectual growth, and a means of making money if I repeat the loop again due to failure.
Winning the lottery is only feasible once. If I do it twice people will start asking questions. I don’t want that.
Loop 3 Day 138
It has been 6 months since they began building my structure. Being made of reinforced steel, and being a hundred feet below ground, made it take a bit longer than I wanted.
A few hours after they finish, I have the moving crew bring in the massive amount things I’ve bought over the months. I show them the areas where I plan to put everything.
They are done in about twelve hours. I pay each of them an extra five thousand dollars for staying so late. They seem upset at the overtime, until the extra money entices their better moods.
I look around my underground complex. I have one hundred and fifty total rooms. One hundred rooms are bunkrooms. Each room has twenty-five sets of bunk beds. Each bunk bed has three bunks.
I walk into the exercise room. I look at the bicycle generators. I check the wires connecting the bikes to the industrial sized battery. I examine the bench press stations, treadmills, and all other work out equipment. I don’t find anything wrong with them, so I continue on.
I walk to the matted dojo. It is about a tenth of the size of the entire complex. There are various training weapons, and even a small shooting range.
While I’m looking at the shooting range, which is up to my standards, I go examine the gunpowder factory.
Smokeless gunpowder is made by causing a specific chemical reaction using nitrocellulose as a main component. I examine the lab that will make the smokeless powder, and find no faults.
Black powder can easily be made at home, but is only useful for old time rifles and low-grade bombs. I am proud that I already have a factory making enough powder to defend myself, and my friends.
I examine the ordering station. There is a room connecting the shooting range to the factories. The room is surrounded by bulletproof glass, and comes equipped with a gas mask.
I look up. The sleeping gas vents are prepared and seem to be in working order. The massive array of weapons put me back a bit, but I still have several million dollars.
The casing factory is the smallest. It’s almost cramped. There is enough room for four people to work making casings for the bullets constantly.
The only way in the bulletproof room is using a retinal and voice scanner. Both keyed to me obviously. As I look at the weapons in their stocks, I notice that I may have bought too many.
I have enough weapons for a hundred people to each have one, and I will still have a few backups. The amount of ammo I count is ridiculous. I am happy to have a high offensive capability.
I don’t know where the bombs will drop, but someone else might make it through. I am ready if they do.
The relaxation room is the second biggest room in the complex. It can easily house over five hundred people at once. There are enough forms of entertainment to keep a large amount of people happy.
I even have a dozen large flat screens spread out around the room. There are enough durable chairs and tables to have meals with everyone that can fit in this room.
The televisions can flip around to be protected by ten inches of steel in case of riots or rowdiness. I continue on in my inspection.
A quarter of the complex is taken up by various levels of plants. All of the plants are edible, and the only way to get to them is through me. There are all kinds of plants already growing. Various squashes, and vegetables. Many different fruit trees. Potatoes are being grown in abundance
The light comes from the very expensive ‘Faux-Sunlight Bulb’. Basically the bulb gives off the same type of energy as the sun. This lets all of the plants grow as if they were outside.
All of the vents go through here. That way the carbon dioxide gets turned into fresh oxygen. The used water and fecal matter are used to fertilize the plants, after being treated.
After a pleasant look at the massive greenhouses I’ve built, I take a look at the water reclamation facility. This area uses various types of algae and moss to purify the water. It is what NASA would have used in their space colonization program.
The moss and algae are stripped away each week, and blended up. The blended product is used to further fertilize the plants.
The amount of food grown here will be able to keep a colony of one thousand people fed. I only take a brief glance at the dehydrating facility. That will only be used if there is a surplus of food one year.
There is a small, 100 cubic feet, room filled with canned goods. Those will hold us over if there is a problem with the food stuffs. In the back of the room is a freezer where seeds are kept. Also in case something happens with the crops.
I go through the rest of the rooms, checking to make sure everything is perfect. There are a few things that I decide to buy later, but for now it is perfect.
Every bit of the factories, farms and everything else, is almost fully automated. All I need to do is find someone else to also learn about the machines.
I have enough spare parts to rebuild every machine I’ve made, twice. I made sure to have a self sufficient facility to live in.
Now all I had to do is convince those that I know didn’t turn to join me. I’ll start with my girlfriend’s family.
