As soon as White asked me to help out The Magnificent Three, I immediately ran toward them while avoiding incoming attacks from those two lieutenants. When I arrived, those three were already badly bruised. Roman didn’t took a long time to beat up those guys.
I interrupted him by throwing my Infinibot to the back of his head. That throw made him stop his movement. He looked at me with an angry face and rushed toward me. I called Infinibot to return to my hand and transformed it into a rope. I used the rope to escape from Roman’s rush.
Just when I jumped away from him, Roman not wasting his time and immediately grabbed my leg and smashed me to the dirt ground. Such strength. It almost broke my bone. Thankfully I transformed my Infinibot into a safety cushion under me. His Inhuman ability was not to be messed around.
“You’re good, kid. But not good enough!” said Roman.
Roman about to hit me with a double axe handle to my head but I block it with my Infinibot that was transformed into a riot shield. Infinibot then transformed into a baseball bat and I used it to counter him. He blocked it and jumped away from me. My attack didn't cause him any pain at all.
Thankfully my Infinibot is a Infinitum-powered machine. As long as someone like me who has a large amount of Infinitum stored inside my body, I could probably last for about 10 minutes. 10 minutes isn’t enough though. I hope the others will make it in time before I start to run out of Infinitum.
“Not bad. Who are you people?”
“We’re just your run of the mill high school wizards. We’re kind of trying to save our idiotic friends there.”
“Oh really? You’re magic proves otherwise.”
“That’s because I’m an A ranked wizard!”
I threw out more Infinibots that I kept inside my pockets and transformed it into turrets and guns which then started to shoot at Roman. Roman blocks the barrage with his own arm. I don’t know how long that would last though. I transformed one Infinibot into a rocket launcher and blasted it to Roman.
I knew it was far from over when I saw him jumped into me from within the smokes of the blast. I blocked his charge with my Infinibot Riot Shield. This guy was very annoying. I should have brought more Infinibot if I knew I would face him.
Then again, White tasked me because he knew I could hold on for a while. I just have to buy some time until they beat everyone inside the factory. Let’s just hope someone comes in soon because I’ve used almost 15% of my Infinitum just for that barrage. It’s a small number but when I have to face someone like this, there’s no way I can minimize my output. I got to do something.
When I was trying to think, Roman charges at me which I barely got away from it by rolling away from his path. I ran to the other Infinibot that just now were guns and turrets. Those Infinibot stopped shooting because they have used up all of the Infinitum that I transferred to them. Once they run out of Infinitum, they would change back into a small cube.
I simply grabbed all of it and transformed them into small floating turrets that follows me. I hope this will be enough to hold the front line. If not then, I’m doomed. But based on my calculations, they would arrive in a few more minutes unless someone got injured or burned by that fire guy.
These floating turrets of mine shoots out Infinitum Shells which was basically a shell made out of Infinitum. I tried to shoot at Roman but he kept on blocking it with his arm. Such formidable endurance. There must be a solution to defeat him. I transformed one of my Infinibot into a hammer and tried to face him head on.
I went head on because I wanted to observe Roman even closer. Maybe I could find something interesting during that encounter. We clashed as both of our hammer and arm respectively blocked each other. Multiple strikes and blocks were lashed out from both of us. I also made sure to use one of my Infinibot as a drone that can act as my second eye to look for a point of interest.

While we were exchanging blows, my Infinibot Drone notice that Roman seemed to have a number of small bottle on his belt. I tried my best to see what it was by re-watching some clips from my android. I made sure for it to be in slow motion. After going through the recording I finally managed to read one of the bottle. It was a pill designed to absorb any traumatic blows on the body. To put it simply, he used drugs to take away all of his pain. It was sort of like an Anti-Pain drug. He will never feel pain. One pill takes about 5 minutes of effect.
Now I understand. There’s no way someone with an Inhuman ability, needs a drug like that because that’s nearly scientifically impossible. Judging with the different colour of the other bottle, I knew what was going on. Which means, he never had Inhuman all this time! Based on my observations I could conclude that his true ability might be Performance Enhancement. Yes, it's not a very creative name. But it is like that because there's billions of different abilities to name.
Performance Enhancement was actually an Old-Gen Utility type magic. But in these day and age with all the technology in medical science, he could make his ability turn into a New-Gen Utility type. Talk about a cheap way of lying to everyone about your ability. Now I finally know what it was.
Just at the moment when I already figured it out, I slipped a little. Roman punched my gut and I was sent flying away and hit a tree. I felt a crack but I’m not sure if my backbones were entirely broken yet. But what’s more important was that I couldn’t stand up at all. Just when I know his true ability and here I am at his mercy.
“Game’s over, kid!”
Roman punches was then blocked by one of my Infinibot.
“Infinibot? You’re not supposed to work like that…”
This was a surprise. I never built my Infinibot to do as they please. They will only follow orders and not freely do anything else. Impossible. Is it defective? Unless…
“Sorry we’re late. White burned his hand and Blax’s team were out of it.” Rider appeared alongside Hosuke, Lore and White.
“Zone and Rulend are tending the others don’t worry.” Lore assured me.
“Kept you waiting huh?” White said as he shows up with his arm all wrapped up in white cloth.
So it was White’s Infinibot that I gave to him a few minutes ago.
“After all those testing with Version 0.1, 0.2, 0.3 and so on…I can say that I’ve grown attached with Infinibot V0.7 because this was when you tried to implement a personality on this little things.” White claimed.
Version 0.7. The only version that I implemented a personality. I scrapped that implementation in the new version because I concluded that such a thing was just a waste of space in that small cube.
Rider charged into Roman and both of them started to clash with each other. Lore, Hosuke and White then ran to me to see my conditions.
“You alright, Haz?” asked Hosuke.
“I’m fine. Few scratches won’t hurt me.” I confidently said that even though I knew that I may have a broken backbone.
“It’s okay. You can rest now.” White assures me.
“So what really happened, White?”
“When Rulend was tending my wound, Seven crawled to me and pulled my uniform.”
“Wait, Seven?”
“That’s its name.”
“I see. Continue.” I didn't expect White to name that thing.
“Anyway, from the way how that little thing makes it noises I can tell you are probably in deep trouble. So I sent it to help you out. Seven was probably hiding among the many Infinibots that used there.”
“And I didn’t notice at all.”
“That’s what you get for not making any exterior differences to each version.” White laughed.
“Well, all the 0.s are prototype, they don’t need to be different from the outside.”
“Even 1.0? All of those are 1.0 right?”
“Okay shut up, White.” I can’t help but laughed as well.
I can’t believe that the version that I scrapped was actually the one that saved me. They know that their ‘father’ were in trouble. I think I really should consider an update to all the Infinibots. Seven just proved one theory today. It was possible for a machine to have personality. This was a glorious discovery indeed. I knew I should have tested Seven even longer because personality takes time to develop.
“White, you can keep Seven. I’ll handle a few tweaks after this then you can fully utilize it with your ability. But not today of course.”
“Don’t worry, just rest for now. We gotta beat Roman now.”
White and the others went and helped Rider. Leaving me with Seven. As I looked at Seven, it made me realize how terrible I was to it. I threw it away because I thought that it won’t work. But then White said he wanted to keep it. It was amazing seeing how Seven protected me. I guess I’m just not fit to take care of a machine with a personality. Anyway, now I can rest and perhaps think of an upgrade specifically for Seven. Something that can make Seven and White connected.
I already told them about Roman’s true ability, Performance Enhancement. I guess I need Seven to help me out more…I have to make something. Something that could stop that drug and probably all of it.
