Chapter 1

Damn it.

It had been a very long time since he had woken up - having nothing to do but float around in a amniotic liquid every day was boring. And when you destress by kicking the walls around you, a bunch of squeals would sound from outside.

His name hadn't yet been decided, so he couldn't refer to himself in third person - but no problem, for in the first place, who, and how, would he talk to? He barely knew a few words from discussions beyond the walls.

If you still hadn't gotten it, you're basically an idiot who'd be better off - no, it's better not to destroy what little confidence you have.

He was a baby waiting to exit his prison - ahem, growth facility known as the 'womb'. He'd rather breathe in oxygen than nothing at all. After all, he could take his first breath only outside his mother's womb.

Something suddenly clicked in him as he was lost in thoughts (he had nothing else to do), and he knew it from deep in his soul; his blood. His instincts, as a species.

It's time to greet the world.

IT HURTS IT HURTS ITHURTSITHURTSITHURTSPAINPAINPAINPAINPAINPAINPAINPAIN -

That was all that registered in his mind as he exited headfirst from his - ahem - growth facility.

He blanked out for a few moments before the pain subsided enough that he could breathe, and the umbilical cord connected to him was expertly severed by a person in green scrubs - he could barely see it if he tried his level best to squint.

Doctor, something told him.

How do I know that?

It bugged him for a few moments, but as a baby, what little brain cells he had needed to concentrate on their duties, so he quickly stopped thinking, and obediently presented himself in his father's hands. His mother had been put to sleep by the doctors.

His father brought him up to his face, close enough not to need any strain on the eyes from the baby's near-sightedness. The man looked to be in his early 20s, and was quite the looker. He had pearly white teeth and a strong jawline, his light green eyes resplendent of emeralds.

He had a goofy yet happy smile on his face and he brought his mouth to the baby's forehead, kissing it. He the passed the baby to the mother, who then smiled lovingly at the baby, filling him with warmth. A two-year-old toddler looked on curiously, her hands itching to poke the baby.

"Vade. That's what we decided on, didn't we?" The father spoke, his voice having a refrshing tone to it.

"Mm-hmm."

It was the name of a man who had become an emperor at a very young age, from history so long it was part myth.

The baby slowly went off to sleep, as all babies do.

Three months had passed, and the unbelievable had happened.

A baby had learnt how to crawl without support!

After all, the usual age for a baby to do that was around six months! When taken to a doctor, they found that the muscle growth was done perfectly, as if aided by an excellent physical trainer.

In fact, it was Vade himself who had grown perfectly.

He found it extremely humiliating to pee himself every day, and as a result, resolved to do his very best.

Two months later, he began walking around unsupported, and successfully broke the world record. During this time, he had also begun to speak full words.

The psychologists deduced it was probably because of his loneliness and him missing his parents, who were barely at home. Instead, Vade and his older sister, Mahe, were taken care of by a maid called Feni. As proof, they had the fact that the first word he spoke was neither 'Mama' or 'Dada' or anything of the sort, but 'Penny'. They thought he meant Feni.

In fact, it was the truth - at that time, he was in a cradle and couldn't get down, and had crapped his pants. He was unable to bear the sticky sensation on his butt anymore.

But, this fact broke the hearts of his parents; after all, their own son had lesser affection for them than he had for a maid in the house...

Even if his father was someone in the entertainment industry, and was used to having a poker face, he couldn't reign in his despair at all. Even the company itself had descended into darkness; no one was able to enjoy their time.

Realizing this fact, he gave up management of the company to the General Manager for a year, with him participating only in the most important decisions.

His mother, too, gave up her job as a trainer in the company and spent more time at their home. The maid, Feni, was also there - while the parents wanted to fire her, the children were probably quite attached to her, not to mention they realized they didn't even know their own children's likes and dislikes.

So, when Vade said "Mama" and "Dada", they couldn't stop weeping in happiness.

Thanks to that, even his elder sister, Mahe, was able to get more attention from her parents.

At the beginning, she had slightly resented her parents for not caring about her, but since she had Feni, she didn't mind as much. But she had resented her little brother a lot and would often bully him because he took away what little affection she could get from Feni.

But when she realized that she could celebrate her third birthday with her parents only thanks to her brother, she began to review her actions, and resolved to dote on him.

It didn't help that he was so cute that even bullying him a little bit took all her determination and gave her a truckload of guilt.

Both of Vade's parents were considered outstanding geniuses - his mother didn't have much talent in singing and acting itself, but she was an amazing composer and producer, not to mention her keen insight which allowed her to pick mistakes in even the best actors and advice them to the point she caused the agency to grow rapidly, each and every one of its signed celebrities to reach the C-List at the very least.

Of course, the company she worked at belonged to his father.

He had inherited a failing company on the brink of bankruptcy when he was just 16. While it was once a giant, when he had inherited it, there wasn't anyone in it other than a couple of managers, one in the PR team and one signed singer who was barely half-decent.

He then went out and personally contacted many talents and rookies in the field, using what little funds he had left, and had come across his mother in his cousin's high school when she was the manager of the acting club. He was impressed by her insight, and recruited her after pestering her about it for more than a week. Finally, she agreed, and of the 15 trainees she trained, 10 had reached the B-List, while there were 2 who reached the A-List itself, immediately regaining the company's foothold in the industry. He then completely changed the internal workings of the company and hired many professionals in different fields, transforming the nearly bankrupt, useless company to the global giant with 2 S-Listers and over 10 A-Listers in a mere seven years.

He was known to the world as an S-Lister himself, as he was a genius businessman.

Of course, Vade's father, Ravel, and his mother, Gerna, had fallen in love in a mere 10 weeks, and married in three years. They had their first kid next year, and in two and a half years, they had their second.

They were at an age when one would barely begin thinking about marriage, though...

Yet, to this amazing pair, there was a call from the office - and it wasn't regarding the company, but it was actually about their son...
