This is a story that was conceptualised around 2005, wasn't fully written until 2017, and is now finally completed in 2022. A Hell of a development period for a silly little book about silly little demons.
After many delays, errors and other such issues, I'm proud to say that "Infernal Academia" - once known as "Seven Sins, Three Semesters" - is finally complete, and I'm feeling so proud of myself for doing so. It was more than just a story. For the longest time, it was a form of escapism, and once I finally began to publish it online, it became a means of reaching out to others.
Others whom I would like to thank here:
My wife Erin, who first dragged me out of my hovel way back when and got truly invested in my nonsense stories, and never let me give up on my passion, even when things were rough.
My close friend Sean, who did much of the same, but generally in harsher words. I'd also like to thank him for proofreading some early concepts and honestly telling me when they weren't up to snuff.
The real-life Rowdy Boys, for lending me their name, and whose members are as follows
This content has been misappropriated from Royal Road; report any instances of this story if found elsewhere.
Mr. Duggan, for acting as a sounding board at early-morning hours, helping with certain translations and providing his opinion on as-yet unwritten ideas.
Miss Traynor, for supplying me with images of her animals, which served as motivation at the strangest of times.
And Mr. McKeever, for being the worst thing to happen to me and the human race at large.
Furthermore, I'd like to thank all my writers-in-arms in the now-defunct Wattpad forums for first accepting me as a fellow when I originally started out, as well as those in the Royal Road forums, who continue to help me out and answer all my dental-related questions.
Also my cats, Scraps and Violence, but I wouldn't wish for it to get to their heads.
This story is the first of many in an extended universe, and while I don't hold much hope for getting them all written and published, it's a nice dream to have, and I'll certainly hold onto it as I forge on with the second story. Oh yes, Cobalt Trayer's trials and tribulations are far from over, and he's got more questions to ask and answer before I'm done with him.
But before that, I'd like to thank one final person; you, for taking the time to read this drivel.
Every review, every comment, every like, every vote, every read; I appreciate them to no end, and am endlessly grateful for your patronage, support and criticism.
One last question, if you feel so inclined to answer; out of the main cast, who was your favourite?
So, until Infernal Adjudication, then.
Ta,
Tom Withers
