Chapter 2: A World of Carnage

Chapter 2: A World of Carnage

The giant beggar's whitish eyes darted around frantically as he sniffed the air like someone trying to stop a runny nose.

An attendant, looking at them from a distance with disgust, called out loudly, "Hey, not there! There are students. If you're here for cleaning, come meet the headmaster at the office. Follow me."

The attendant thought, "What happened to our school? She said she would bring female workers, and what is this? Is it a publicity stunt giving jobs to beggars, or is she embezzling funds? I need to leverage this."

"Will these guys even work in our dust-filled rooms? One guy is sick, and the other is so skinny he won't even be able to lift our old chairs. What a useless combination!"

As he approached, he noticed their pace quickening to match his. He walked faster, but when their pace got too fast, he turned around to complain. He realized they were there for no good after seeing their faces up close, their whitish eyes full of malice and hunger.

His heart raced as he ran. "What are they? Are they here to rob us, or is this another terrorist attack?"

"Mam!! Mam, who are they?" The attendant asked in a raspy voice.

The headmaster replied, "Hey, calm down. What happened?"

"Mam, did you recruit beggars?" he asked.

"What? I didn't recruit any beggars!" the headmaster responded, cutting through the attendant's panic.

"Mam! I am going to close the door. Wow, stop!!!" He screamed as an uninvited guest pounded upon her.

At that moment, she witnessed what is called "true horror" and the beginning of true misery—a world of carnage. She screamed as if she were breaking her vocal cords, her legs shaking. She saw those beings eating her alive. A teacher who came to complain witnessed this and immediately vomited and lost consciousness.

As if it were a chain reaction, the same thing was happening in multiple places: students and people in classrooms started causing chaos, with some trying to bite teachers' necks while others were somewhere inappropriate.

Everyone felt that something was wrong, but it was too late, as they were so comfortable with society and its safety that they couldn't believe what was happening in front of them.

In some classrooms where there was no chaos of their own, students did something rather comical; they went towards the danger. Students rushed to help the teachers, though some were likely there to watch the drama. Others sensed an incoming threat because of the severity of the screams that started going around the class like waves of cofcany.

Hruday shook involuntarily, goosebumps rising on his skin for unknown reasons. He felt paranoid and started to analyze. "It might be a terrorist attack. No, but there was no gunfire, so robbers." Then he remembered that a wild cheetah had escaped, which he had seen in the news. "It must be that. Whatever it is, we need to close the doors and check."

He stood up and told everyone, "It's a wild beast from the news. Everyone, close the doors."

The crowd responded, "Huh? Is he stupid? How can a wild cheetah come here out of nowhere?"

"No, what if it got out while transporting or something?" Another voice suggested.

Shravan led a few tall guys toward the office room. Even before Hruday could convince Shravan not to go, his group went, and the skinny guy named Troy also followed them toward the left, where the headmaster's office was located. They moved quickly, then suddenly stopped as they saw two men covered in blood and eating the flesh of the teacher. They felt pure primal fear, awakening their inner instincts in their brains.

They screamed and ran back to the class, hearing another voice say, "Ahhh!! Shravan pushed through someone who was heading toward them in panic. The student replied, pissed about simple rude behavior. "Hey, crazy?"

At that moment, Hruday and their group moved toward the staff room. Although Hruday insisted on not going, their group was going to split, so due to his pressure, he followed them, his instincts screaming like his heart rhythm. As they were halfway there, everyone started to doubt, and Harry regretted his decision. Now they could hear a series of terrifying, bloodcurdling screams. Hearing the screams from the teacher's room, they quickened their pace, running toward the end of one side.

Screams of warning came. "Students, don't come outside no matter what," said another voice. "Run, terrorists!" "Monsters!"

"Shit, shit! Let's go back to the class," Hruday urged. Although they were near the teacher's room, everyone didn't hesitate to run toward their class, but they couldn't reach it as they were 20 feet away.

As Shravan and his friends got into class, they tried to close the doors. Everyone asked what happened—was there really a cheetah?

Shravan replied hurriedly, "Yeah, it's a cheetah." He quickly closed the door and said, "Block it, guys. Don't make noise."

Class leader Samuel asked, "Hey, what about Hruday and the others?"

Shravan stuttered, "Ah, the mon--s no, Cheetah got them."

Class leader Samuel, clearly confused, asked, "What? What monster?"

Shravan whispered, "Hey, lower your voice, man."

Shravan explained the situation, but Samuel couldn't believe it. He believed there was some threat out there but didn't trust Shravan, who always trapped others. Then they heard a noise. "Hey, Shravan, open the door."

Outside the classroom, as Shravan and their friends got inside and closed the door, Hruday felt hopelessness grip his heart. In his despair, he cursed Shravan without thinking about him or the situation he was in. They felt trapped, not knowing where to go. As they were running, they heard an inhuman sound (cgh, chrgrree) from both sides. Michael, in complete disbelief and shock, cursed, "Guys!"

Everyone was stunned, drowning in fear of the unknown. They couldn't believe the situation they were in and the dumb decision they had made.

Background Information:

The School

The school where Hruday studies is structured in the shape of a U, with two floors accommodating various classrooms, offices, and facilities. Hruday's classroom is situated on the lower left side of the curve, providing a partial view of the central courtyard.

On the ground floor, classrooms are arranged along both sides of the U-shaped building, with administrative offices such as the Headmaster's (H.M.) office located near the front entrance. Hruday's class is positioned towards the front side of the building, providing convenient access to the main entrance. The distance between Hruday's class and the H.M. office is approximately 30 feet.

The internal ground, the hollow part of the building, serves as a gathering space for students during break times and assemblies. The outside is divided into three sub-grounds: a lower ground near the main entrance (just opposite the HM office), which extends to the main school gate on the left side, and upper grounds on the right of the U-shaped structure. Here, primary children and the primary school are located further down in the grounds.

Additionally, the school includes a cafeteria and assembly area located on the hollow side of the building, adjacent to the central courtyard. This multi-purpose space serves as a dining area during meal times and can also accommodate school-wide events and gatherings.
