29 - Deal

29 - Deal

The small flying island that Basilius made keeps rising and along with it the crystal and Basilius himself, his eyes stop shining and the force that lifted them disappears, and gravity returns, although they maintain their momentum and keep moving as gravity slows their ascent until finally stop and the island becomes stable in the air, Basilius then flaps his wings and approaches Zarco's crystal on the ground to finally catch it.

With the blue crystal in his hand, Basilius says out loud, with genuine surprise.

-Finally… I really did it.

He then sheds a tear of joy.

Faraway, still on Deville's back looks at the island and says.

-Throw me, Deville.

Deville answers.

-OK.

Deville grabs Faraway's feet as he rises, then Deville jumps and stretches his arm tossing him. Faraway then uses his armor's claws to dig himself into the island and scale it using his fusion crystal to attach part of his body to the island and then separate it, ensuring that he doesn't fall.

Deville

-Huh, he goes up pretty fast.

Deville then casually lowers his body to dodge a spear attack from a soldier that tried to sneak on him. He then turns around and stares at the scared soldier, but before he could beat him up he hears another soldier yelling.

-Do not move!

Deville then looks around and sees that the area around the island had been surrounded by human soldiers.

Deville mumbles out loud, slightly annoyed.

-What are those two doing? They should have taken care of you guys.

Potentia emerges from the middle of the gathering and approaches Deville while yelling.

-Drop your crystal and surrender!

Deville looks at the woman making demands in front of him and responds.

-If you want it, come and get it.

Potentia

-Men!

The soldiers advance against Deville.

Suddenly Deville's hair starts to shine brightly to the point of hurting the eye.

The soldiers and Potentia are blinded by the strong light, unable to see anything ahead, they still try to attack him, they all miss Deville but some end up hitting each other.

Deville

-Idiots.

Faraway arrives at the top of the island, Basilius with the crystal in his hand and part of his sickle in the other faces him and says.

-Stop, if you move even a muscle I'll attack.

Faraway silently looks at Basilius, respecting his wishes, Faraway decides to stay still. But since he wasn't even properly standing at the top of the island yet, he was forced to stay still in an uncomfortable position, with only a single foot on the island while the rest of his body awkwardly grabbed the island.

Faraway, stuck in that ridiculous position, seriously says.

-I didn't expect to see this today, who would have thought that there would have a legitimate user here.

Basilius

-Huh?

Faraway continues and finally stands on the top of the island.

-I presume you are only carrying the crystal from the portals at this moment, but even so, you can use the power of another crystal, impressive.

Basilius

-I told you to stop!

Basilius squeezes Zarco's crystal in his hand, but nothing happens.

Faraway

-Don't know how to use it huh? I get you, at first I also thought they all worked the same way.

Basilius

-Stand back!

Faraway raises his hands, trying to calm Basilius down.

-Look, we just want to take what is rightfully ours, that crystal in your hand that was stolen from us, after that, we leave and each one lives his own life, how about that?

Basilius

-Meaningless words coming from an inferior, your people took our lands and now you come to talk about what is right?

Faraway

-I see, you think we are together with these other idiots.

Basilius

-I will not hand it over, this is the hope of my people, this time I will be able to save them.

Faraway

-Oh, is that so? Then I have a proposal to make, look at the battlefield.

Basilius, stand there unmoving, thinking it could be a trick to deceive him. But after a few seconds, he decides to take a quick look at the battlefield and is surprised to realize that the humans were being attacked and decimated.

Elisa, the young woman in the sweatshirt, guided a powerful beast, with one hand she held a fishing rod to direct the creature, and with the other, she passed the pages of a sketchbook, and when she reached the desired page she pointed the notebook in the direction of the soldiers, her necklace then glowed and a shower of arrows came out of her notebook to hit her enemies.

Aiding her was a realm of illusions, creatures, and catastrophes happening from all sides disorienting the soldiers from reality and leaving them vulnerable to the beast's attacks and the materialization of Elisa's drawings.

There was something he found beautiful to behold, inferiors being defeated, the same force that had annihilated and driven back his army back was now in complete disarray on the battlefield.

Faraway

-What do you think of this deal, we defeat these soldiers and in exchange, you give us your two crystals, ok?

Basilius

-What?! Do you have any idea what you're asking for?!

Faraway

-Huh… I think this might not be the best environment for a proper negotiation, I'll go help you with the soldiers' situation, we'll talk later.

Faraway jumps off the island.

Basilius

-He's crazy...

Faraway falls kicking a soldier who was advancing to attack Deville, upon reaching the ground he pulls out a pair of sunglasses and puts them on so as not to get hurt by Deville's intense light.

Deville speaks while punching a stunned soldier.

-What's the plan?

Faraway talks while he causes a soldier to trip.

-Beat these soldiers to please the king who will deliver the crystals later.

Deville talks while dodging an attack.

-Are you sure it will work?

Faraway talks while strangling a soldier.

-Yes, the guy stopped to talk to a stranger in the middle of a battle, I am sure we can negotiate with him.

Deville

-OK, if you say so.

Potentia slowly starts to retreat, as she watches the small group of soldiers that she leads being absolutely destroyed by only two guys.

END OF THE TWENTY-NINTH CHAPTER.
