??? - POV
Clanking of steel and explosions of magical fire rang out through the underground hideout of my master. He was hurriedly trying to bar the only entrance and exit to his laboratory as the sounds of battle came closer.
His failed experiments had been discarded on the surface as he was too lazy to deal with them properly. The mutated magical animals had ran about and attacked a village on the outskirts of Rosenheim Kingdom. At first they were nothing but warped abominations but lately their powers had grown and the mutations lessened, the latest were the [Magic Abominations] made from kidnapped villagers. But because of my master’s stupidity it has come to this, a group of adventurers banging at our door and discarding of his protectors one after another.
The vial of [Pure Magic Essence] glowed upon the pedestal. The project was almost complete, it gave enormous amount of magical power unlocking the potential to anything wished without chants or incantations. But the drawback was horrible psychosis due to the mind opening to the world of magic and slowly the body withered away.not able to contain the sudden magic.
‘Thii--’ I sighed looking at my master’s soiled leggings, the self-proclaimed master of magic had pissed himself as the large battle-axe had slammed its blade through the door. A blue eye and a tuff of sandy blond hair as the prince like warrior looked inside yelling “Here’s Johnny!”. From behind the door a quirky magician girl asked “I thought your name was Felblade?” “Tche-- How young are you? Nevermind just open the way already…” “Oki! FIREBALL!” the girl cried from the hallway.
My master was huddled underneath his desk while the barricade of a bookshelf and the door it was blocking blew up in charred splinters all over the laboratory, breaking the delicate laboratory equipment. A large splintered piece of wood shot through the chair I was sitting behind, slicing me along the side, giving me a deep gash.
I hissed, clenching my teeth at the pain as I received the mortal wound. I looked at my master in contempt as he peeked over his desk at the group of adventurers that walked inside. Because of his greed I lost my love and now because of his laziness I am going to lose my life. You will pay for this, bastard!
Shirley “The Greatest Sorceror” Son of Fisherman Fred - POV
I stood up hiding the moist dark potches of my pants behind the desk, I definitely did not pee my pants, I just spilled some water on them… Honest!
I gulped and looked at the pedestal on my desk, my greatest prize. The [Pure Magic Essence] I grinned as my salvation was within my grasp. Smirking as the adventurers came up, a blond man with blue eyes clad in shining armor and an axe. A young woman with a magician’s wand, an elf archer in dark green and a… Is that a midget without shoes? Must be one of those gnome-thingies.
I scowled at the pests the villagers sent to ruin my life, stupid peasants I have done nothing against them why do they hate me, just like my father.
I moved my hand to grasp the vial before me “You think you’ve defeated me, the Great Sorceror Shirley! Fools I wil--- EH!?!” I looked down as my hand grasped nothing but the empty vial holder then on the side of the room a soft thud came and my eyes followed. My familiar was holding the vial as blood trickled down her side pooling slightly on the floor, her eyes narrowed at me. “Cheeseball, what are you doing! Give that back this insta--! Noooo!!” I looked petrified as she lifted her head and drank the Essence.
Your familiar Cheeseball has severed the Familiar contract.
Cheeseball - POV
I could feel my veins burning like I was on fire on the inside as if my blood turned to acid. I focussed on the cut on my side and it began to knit itself closed like it was never there.
I opened my eyes, the pain was there but I am not going to die here! My now previous master began to cry once more and the adventurers looked dumbfounded. This was the best chance to get out as I focussed on my legs filling them with speed and power. The pain of the metamorphosis and the sudden imbalance of power put me off balance but a pussy like me has the reflexes to compensate as I ran horizontally along the wall and escaped through the blasted open doorway.
Sounds of confusion and the tantrum of Shirley echoed along the walls as I bobbed and weaved past the bashed and still burning protectors. The natural light from the exit staircase was blinding as I saw the sun itself through the heavens and the mana the celestial bodies radiated. I was free but I was also dying but I had to hold one, for my love there was still one thing left that I must survive…

“Pfffft! Shirley!? That’s a girl’s name!” the rogue said as he jumped up to the table and kicked the dark clad wanna-be villain in the face with his bare foot.
Sighing I rushed up to help and within moments the crying quest boss was down and it was time for the best part! Loot the bodies! This was ridiculously easy I guess it was supposed to be fighting what ever that cat drunk…
“Hey guys… Maybe we should not mention the cat to anyone.” Our magician who was looting the bookcases looked up after I said that. “Why?”. Brushing my chin embarrassed “Well I think it would be bit better for our fame to bit up play his abilities, after all we kinda did get lucky what ever he was trying to do didn’t succeed.”
And so on we bickered while looting the bodies and the hideout.
Cheeseball - POV
I still vividly remember the moment I saw my love, he was so dashing and tall. Lean and muscular with the such soft fluffy yet smooth fur and those eyes ‘Mmmhhh’ the way he looked at me made me feel like a little kitten. My legs feel like jelly every time I think of that moment when he softly but firmly bit the fur of my nape.
I let out a purr as I waddle along the forest paths. It’s been days since I’ve seen any sign of civilisation, wolves and other predators have tried to eat me many times though I’ve usually climbed up to trees or blasted them with the overflowing magical energies I can focus on when I am angry enough.
I lowered myself to drinking from a stream, it was still refreshing as my throat was parched so I didn’t mind it too much. The pain has stopped from the metamorphosis but I can feel my body getting more tired easily. I must find someone, for my love, someone to take care of what I cannot.
I started to rain again, my pure white fur matted and filthied by mud and pieces of foliage. I was so exhausted and hungry that my vision blurred, barely able to see the light of a candle in the distance but it was there. There had been multiple cottages and such before but all of them had the scent of rubbish and human urine, the testosterone had been overwhelming from the bandit hideouts. I fought on, pushing through the wind and rain towards the light as more came up behind it. Torches at the gate of a small stone fortificated wall outlined the entrance to a village.
The cottage seemed to be a two floored guardhouse that overlooks the gate. I slipped underneath the gate and moved by the sides of the buildings, covering from the freezing wind and rain. I followed my sense of smell as sometimes the visions of other realms distracted me.
There was a scent of some kind of stew, I can’t think clearly enough to know more. Opening my eyes I saw a merchant’s plaque hanging in front of the door with a spool of thread and a needle. I guess this is some kind of a tailor shop. I went around the house to the back, the door was closed so I jumped from the doorway onto the windowsill as a light of a stove was coming out of it. I tapped curled pads against the glass with a little screeching clicks. I saw a shadow move in front of the window and opening it, the sweet smell of food and warm air gushed against me as I relaxed and oblivion took my consciousness.
Stella the Seamstress - POV
Another evening making food for one, working my youth away to take care of my siblings then focussing on my career wasted away my good years. No one would want to spend time with such a wrinkled old lady. ‘Sigh..’ My crafts were the best this side of Rosenheim and I had plenty of apprentices coming and going but I had no one to spend my evenings with.
When I heard a sound like a branch brushing against my window, turning around I had a fright as I saw the green eyes reflected from the window. Taking a deep breath to calm myself, I stepped up the window, unhooking the latch and lifted it open.
A poor shivering animal. At first it looked like a common farm cat but the true color of the sleek whiteness came through the mud. Its bright eyes unfocused as it fell down in exhaustion. Without a second thought I lifted the sickly animal and closed the window before wrapping it in my apron and placed it under the warmth of the stove while I gathered things.
