37 | A weird Feeling | 2

37 | A weird Feeling | 2

All by herself, Aneesa wandered the streets of the Westside of Naire. She wore a nice outfit, more fancy than usual so that she wouldn't feel too out of place if she ever crossed paths with the rich kids from her university. She had one goal in mind : Confront Dave about the letters she's been receiving.

He had her number and they texted often. She asked him to meet him at a park nearby and he agreed.

"Did your brother drive you here ?" Asked Dave, discreetly eyeing the surroundings.

"Does it matter ? Let me get straight to the point. Stop giving me those letters ! Stop playing with me, I ain't dumb."

"Woah Aneesa, I would never play with you. I just wanted to tell you how much I appreciated you-"

"Secret admirer ? You give me your letters but write secret admirer !"

" I didn't want you to know it was me !"

"But you gave them to me, you fucking idiot !"

"Oh right..." He recognised. " I guess I am a bit of an idiot." he chuckled to himself.

"Oh my gosh, you really are..." Aneesa laughed. Both of their laughs merged before dissipating into dry chuckles.

"Aneesa. I meant every word I wrote in those letters. I was secretly admiring you because I didn't think a woman like you would want to be with a guy like me."

She lowered her head and began fidgeting with her hands. "I should be the one saying that."

"I'm glad you came. To this uni, that is." He confessed. She raised her head and their visions were glued to each other's eyes. "I like..."

"You like..?"

"I'd like to take you out. I'd like to prove my words with actions. Would you like to go on a date with me, Aneesa ?"

Slowly her eyes lit up and lips rose up her cheeks. "I'd really love to." she screeched. He smiled brightly and they took off in his car.

----------------------------------------

I stayed at jida's house. All alone and bored as hell. I scroll on my phone and that is when I get a call. White boy calling... I answered the phone and waited for him to start speaking.

"Hey Mika." He said. There was a hint of amusement in his voice but I chose to ignore it.

"What do you want, white boy?"

"Are you at the mansion or at Asad's ?"

"Asad's. Why ?" At that moment I hear a knock on the door. I get off the couch and direct myself towards the entrance. "Hold on there's someone at the door."

"I wonder who that could be."

"Most likely A-" My mouth closes itself after I open the door. It's him. He looks at me with a smirk on his lips. A few of his hairs are falling on his face but he rapidly pushes them back as he runs his left hand through his hair. "You." I say.

"Surprised to see me Mika?" He winks. Noticing the playfulness in his eyes, my nose slowly crinkles.

"Why are you here?" I ask.

"Let's go on a walk. The West side has some nice places to explore."

"No. Why would I go out with you-"

"Go out ?" He chuckles and places his hand on one of the door borders. "You thought I asked you on a date ?" He leaned in.

"No." I lean my head back and frown my brows. "No it's not that." He throws another smirk while taking a step closer.

"You want to go on a date with me, Mika ?"

"Why are you getting closer? Back off white boy." He limits the space between our two bodies as he leans into my face.

"If you don't want to leave the house, I can join you inside..." He says.

"What..." My eyes move from one of his eyes to the other. He places his other hand on the other side of the door frame and his face is getting even closer to mine. What's worse is that our noses are almost touching, yet I don't feel like pushing him away. That is until he leans back, laughing. " You're not funny. That wasn't funny whatsoever." I said sourly, feeling warmth in my ears.

"I know you enjoyed it."

"As if ! Your face disgusts me. You piss me off, you know ? Didn't you want to go on a walk ? Let's fucking do that now, okay?"

"Alright, let's go then." he chuckles and walks away. I put on my sneakers and lock the house.

----------------------------------------

"We shouldn't go that way..." I say. We had been walking for the past 20 minutes. How did I survive all this time alone with him ? I don't even know. He was mostly doing the talking. He made some jokes, some were funny, some were just awkward which made me laugh. I mean I laughed out of embarrassment for him. Not that I care if he's embarrassed, of course. Anyhow, we were approaching an area that I knew wasn't safe. It smelled foul, I knew something was wrong.

"Trust me, I know the West side like the back of my hand." He defended as he continued walking in that same direction, head up high.

"Just listen to me !" I stop as I see people coming our way. "Shit."

"What ?" He looks back at me before turning his head back at the group of people in front of us. "Do you know them ? Who are they ?"

"Who do you think ! Those Rox snakes." When I saw it, I froze as I could feel my heart tightening.

A group of men and one woman were making their way towards us. One in particular caught my attention.

"What should we do ?" asked Xavier. I avoided the gaze of both Xav and the group as I answered with a poker face.

"They don't know you and they only know my name. Avoid looking at them, act normal and we'll be good."

The group of people were now passing by us. Xavier and I were on our phones, avoiding their gaze. One of the men glanced at us for a few seconds.

"Why is he still looking at us ?" whispers Xavier

"Why the fuck are you looking back ?" I say. "Stop talking, they'll hear us."

"Are you two lost ?" The man says. We turned around, putting on a dumbfounded expression. The man was about 5'11ft (179cm) and had jet-black wolf-cut hair. Besides him was a dark-skinned man, a bit over 6 feet. They were all wearing black but both him and the man's muscle shape were visible through their tops. There was also a shorter white man and an even shorter lady. The lady, about 5'4ft (1,62cm), looked back at us with piercing blue-gray eyes. I tried to maintain my poker face yet the dark-skinned man had my attention.

"No, we're just waiting for our lift ?"

"A lift ? Over here ? In this area ?"

"Don't fucking stare at my manz, bitch." interrupted the woman. I looked at her, raising a brow.

"I ain't looking at yo' man, bitch."

"Bitch I saw the way you were looking at him !" She took a few steps closer.

"I don't want your man. He's not my type anyways." I roll my eyes. The dark-skinned coughs a laugh.

"Then quit staring at him if you don't want him." She took more steps towards me to the point where she and I were face to face. She inclined her head to the right, her eyes fixated on me.

"I think our lift is nearby, we should go find it." said Xavier.

"Yeah why don't you fucking listen to your man instead of trying to steal mine."

Xav took my arm and at the same time I pulled it away from him, my stare still glued on this chick who had the audacity to spit bullshit in my face. I eyed her up and down.

"Are you for real ?" I blurted out, pointing at the dark skinned man. His eyes grew and everyone else paused. I wished someone had stopped me from continuing. "Don't tell me you actually left me for a white girl !"

"White girl ? Bitch I'm a proud Venezuelan."

"You're still as white as me, shut the fuck up." commented Xavier. I looked at him in surprise and he gave me a grin.

"Why are you mad ? You're with a white boy now." retorted the dark-skinned man. He stood behind the three other Rox gang members.

"Him and I are not together. We'll never be."

"Titi, you two know each other ?" I could sense Xav looking at me but I kept my stare at the people in front of us.

"Titi ?" The man with a wolf-cut took a step closer. " Oh shit ! Oh shit ! You're a Silver !" He said with a large smile on his face. Rapidly each of them aside from the dark-skinned pulled out a weapon. "Y'all shouldn't have come on this side unprotected. Did you forget what goes on over here, Titi ?" His smile turned upside down as he advanced towards us. I started to back up and Xavier did the same.

"What's your name man ?" he asked Xavier.

"X."

Shut the fuck up Xavier. I roll my eyes and sigh.

"X, huh ? Are you new ?"

"Run." I say.

We turned around and dashed through the streets. We took many turns and we didn't look back as we continued running. I could tell that they had stopped following us but I couldn't refrain myself from going further. I felt like running away from my thoughts.

"Mika ! Tamika !" Xavier yelled. His voice pulled me out the cloud of thoughts that had formed inside my head and made me stop running.

"Fuck !" I shout, as I'm slowing down. "Fuck, why did you bring me here !" I place my hands on my knees, trying to catch my breath and look at him. "I fucking told you that we shouldn't go that way !"

He makes his way to me, his head hanging low. "I'm sorry."

"Fuck off white boy, seriously do. I don't wanna have you around me." I do a dismissive signal with my hand and begin heading in the opposite direction he's in.

"Where are you going? Get back here, I know I messed up!"

"Fuck off !"

"I'll drive you to the mansion. Mika-"

"It's Tamika !" I yell from my distance.

"Tamika ! Tamika, come back ! I'll drive you back, you don't know where you're going !"

Unfortunately for me he was right about that. I seriously didn't know my way around this area. I stopped walking and took a big breath in. "Fuck !" I shouted. I turned around and we walked back to his car he had parked in front of Daoudi's place. We drove in silence and he dropped me off at the mansion.
