Chapter 4: Move forward

Chapter 4: Move forward

Yota walked in a trance, without a single thought, towards the direction where the star had fallen.

All night long…

He might have already been exhausted. Nevertheless, his feet did not stop.

After walking for a long while, he found himself deep in the mountains. It was truly an untouched wilderness, as if no human had ever set foot there. The surroundings were filled with rough bushes and trees, and an eerie silence hung in the still air.

In the distance, dark, ominous clouds seemed to be rolling in. The wind howled fiercely, making the leaves rustle and clash, a sound that echoed in Yota's ears.

Yota began climbing the mountain. The forest was so dense that the sky was barely visible. His steps creaked as they got caught in leaves and branches.

As it grew darker and visibility decreased, he felt a rising fear as he ventured into the deepening shadows. His heart began to beat faster, and fear pressed heavily on his chest.

He tried to turn back but realized he was lost. Every turn he made brought him to the same trees and rocks.

It was so dark that he could barely see anything. He reached out with his hands, feeling his way forward along the trees. Branches scratched his hands as he passed.

Being in the mountains at night, it was extremely cold. The icy air pierced his skin, and his breath turned white.

His whole body was trembling, and he felt dizzy. Despite the dizziness, Yota took step after step. His body felt heavy, and his pace grew slower and slower.

He decided to keep climbing since he had come this far and had no place to return to. The only thought in his mind was to keep moving forward.

He continued to climb. He tripped over branches and fell, got scratched by thorn bushes, and his skin was torn, causing him to bleed. Blood trickled down his hands. The thorns dug into his flesh, causing a stinging pain.

Still, he pressed on. He swallowed his tears, clenching his teeth to avoid crying. His eyes turned red, and his chest felt like it was about to burst with sobs.

After walking for quite a while, it began to rain suddenly. Lightning flashed, and strong winds blew. His body became heavy as it got drenched. Raindrops hit his face fiercely, making it hard for him to keep his eyes open.

"It's really raining… The weather forecast did say it would be bad…" Yota muttered to himself in the rain. His voice was almost drowned out by the storm.

He kept climbing in the rain. His clothes soaked through, and his body grew even heavier. His steps became increasingly laborious.

The rain made it bitterly cold. His body felt like it was freezing. The cold rain pierced his skin.

The dark clouds blocked out the moonlight, and he could see nothing. He reached out, feeling his way forward along the trees. Branches scratched his hands as he passed.

Despite this, he relied on the sense of touch in his feet and continued to climb. Branches scratched his face, and his feet kicked against stones. He endured the pain and kept moving forward.

He bumped into trees repeatedly. Small cuts appeared on his face. Blood trickled from the wounds, but he endured the pain and continued walking.

He climbed for a long time. The rain grew heavier, turning into a downpour. His entire body was soaked. His body felt heavy, and his steps became slower and slower.

"Strange… I can feel the ground with my feet, but it seems the slope is gone…" Yota said, feeling around with his feet. His voice was filled with anxiety and confusion.

"Is it flat ground?" Though he couldn't see well, he touched the ground with his hand. "It's grass." The texture under his fingertips was soft and warm.

Oddly enough, he felt warmth. The warmth spread from his toes. It enveloped his body.

Yota stopped in his tracks, surprised. His shoes were caked with mud. It was a feeling he had never experienced before. His heart was filled with a mix of confusion and anxiety.

"It's warm…" After a few steps, the warmth suddenly disappeared… When he returned to his original position, the warmth returned. His heart was filled with a longing for that warmth.

He changed direction and took another step. The warmth continued. His heart was filled with relief.

Yota walked, guided by the warmth he felt through his feet. Though exhausted, he moved slowly, comforted by the warmth. A small spark of hope began to ignite within him.

He tripped over branches and fell. As he hit the ground, he braced himself with his hands. The feel of the mud was cold and damp against his fingers.

He kept walking. At one point, the wind and rain became so strong that he fell backward. The wind and rain hit his face fiercely, making his body stagger.

He did not give up and continued to walk. Gritting his teeth, he stood up again. His body was heavy, and his steps grew slower and slower.

As he walked, the warmth suddenly vanished. Every direction felt the same. His heart was filled with confusion and anxiety.

He had no choice but to look around slowly as he walked. "Ah!" Suddenly, he felt the ground disappear beneath his feet. His body fell into the void.

It was a cliff. Yota fell but managed to grab hold of a branch. The branch, slick from the rain, was slippery. His hand gripped the branch tightly.

His grip weakened. The fierce storm raged around him. His body was battered by the wind and rain.

Tears streamed down Yota's face. Despite the dire situation, countless thoughts swirled in his mind. His mind was flooded with negative thoughts he had suppressed until now.

"Nobody… cares about me…"

"If I let go… maybe… I'll feel a little better…" His voice was filled with despair and sadness.

In the end, I am… all alone…

His eyes reflected deep sorrow and pain. His hand seemed about to lose its grip, and his body couldn't hold on any longer. The fear of falling into the abyss below froze his heart. The wind and rain pummeled his body as he felt the deepest pit of despair.

Yota closed his eyes and used the last of his strength to hold onto the branch. His fingers slipped more and more, and he felt he could no longer hold on. "Nobody can help me…" he muttered to himself, losing even the last shred of hope. Yota wanted to give up everything. "If I let go… will all the pain end…" His heart was filled with unbearable despair.

Suddenly, Yota's eyes snapped open in surprise. A different kind of warmth, unlike anything he had felt before, emanated from the branch he was holding. The warmth spread from his fingertips throughout his entire body.

A powerful force, unlike the small strength he had felt before, began to envelop Yota's body. He felt warm all over. Despite the cold storm, his body was filled with warmth.

Even in the air near the cliff, he felt a transcendent warmth, as if someone was embracing him from behind. Instinctively, Yota felt a surge of strength. The warmth gave his body renewed energy.

He managed to hold on again and pulled himself up. His hands gripped the branch firmly. He did not give up.

No matter how fierce the storm or adverse the conditions, he felt he could endure anything with this warmth. His heart was ablaze with determination and resolve.

After a long while, he finally succeeded in climbing up. His entire body was covered in mud. His body was exhausted, but a small spark of hope ignited in his heart.

Once he reached the top, the warmth disappeared. His heart was filled with a mixture of longing and relief.

Many thoughts ran through his mind. His heart was filled with various emotions. His eyes reflected deep sorrow and pain.

His entire body felt drained, as if all his energy had been spent. His body was heavy, and his steps grew slower and slower.

The rain grew even heavier. His body felt weighed down by the rain. His steps grew slower and slower.

He collapsed to the ground. His body felt heavy, and his heart was filled with deep sorrow and pain.

After a while, he stood up again. His body was heavy, and his steps grew slower and slower.

His body temperature dropped, and he trembled all over, feeling dizzy. His body felt like it was freezing.

The wind was so strong that it knocked down trees. His heart was filled with anxiety and confusion.

"What was that… earlier?" His voice was filled with anxiety and confusion.

"Where should I go…" Yota was filled with despair and sadness. His eyes reflected deep sorrow and pain.

He closed his eyes and tried to feel the warmth with his whole body, not just his feet. His heart was filled with a longing for the warmth.

Then he felt a faint warmth. Yota trembled as he walked, following the warmth. His body was heavy, and his steps grew slower and slower.

Another slope appeared. He continued to climb. His heart was ablaze with determination and resolve.

He fell so many times that his knees bled. Blood flowed from his knees.

After walking for a while, he arrived at a place. His heart was filled with a mixture of longing and relief.

The warmth disappeared. His heart was filled with confusion and anxiety.

It was flat ground. His body was exhausted, but a small spark of hope ignited in his heart.

Yota was on the verge of losing consciousness. He was sometimes blown away by the strong wind. His body staggered in the storm.

He could instinctively feel it with his body… Something is here…

He walked around the area. His heart was filled with anxiety and confusion.

Suddenly, lightning struck right next to Yota. The flash of light revealed the surroundings. His eyes were filled with surprise and fear. The rain was so heavy that his vision was almost obscured, but the lightning briefly illuminated the surroundings.

Yota searched for a place where he could escape the storm.

As he walked towards it, Yota finally lost consciousness and collapsed into the muddy ground.
