The Countess’s residence was a magnificent estate perched on a cliff overlooking a serene lake. As they arrived, servants hurried to greet them, their efficient movements indicating well-practiced hospitality. Cassandra noted the strategic location of the estate, appreciating its natural defenses.
Inside, the Countess led them to a grand sitting room adorned with rich fabrics and intricate tapestries. As they settled into comfortable chairs, servants brought refreshments, and Cassandra took a moment to study the Countess. There was more to this woman than met the eye; her composure and elegance suggested a depth of intelligence and strength. Hm, so she's cunning as well, how wonderful.
"Now, Cassandra," the Countess began, her tone shifting to one of business, "let's discuss the matters we face. The political climate here on Corillian is… rather volatile. There are factions that would love to see the Empire's influence wane, and they see me as a symbol of that influence."
Cassandra leaned forward, her interest piqued. "Do you have any specifics in minds? Any known enemies?"
The Countess nodded, her expression serious. "Yes, there are several groups. The Green Hand, an eco-terrorist organization, is the most prominent. They believe Corillian should be free from the Empire's control and have staged numerous attacks in the past. There's also the Black Sun, a criminal syndicate that sees an opportunity in the political turmoil to expand their influence."
Cassandra absorbed this information, her mind racing with plans and contingencies. "I will need to meet with your security team and review all intelligence reports," she said decisively. "We must be prepared for anything. Especially with the current attacks from the Jedi groups.”
The Countess smiled, a hint of relief in her eyes. "I trust you completely, Cassandra. Your reputation precedes you. Together, we will ensure the safety and stability of Corillian."
As they continued to discuss the details, Cassandra felt something. This mission, despite its political nature and the Emperor's hidden motives, was an opportunity to make a difference. To prove herself. She glanced at Na’la, who was listening intently, and felt a surge of determination. They would face whatever challenges came their way, and they would emerge victorious.
“I have already prepared living quarters for you, these two will show you the way.” Two servants, no older than 16, had rushed towards the group. The two servants bowed so hard it seemed their heads would touch the floor. “Good evening, my Lord, Countess. Please follow us.”
Cassandra had smirked, seeing such inexperience had put her in a good mood. Cassandra and Na’la exchanged a quick glance, both of them silently acknowledging the scene and the significance of this mission. The Emperor's motives might be shrouded in secrecy, but their resolve to succeed was clear. As the servants straightened up and led the way, Cassandra allowed herself a moment of reflection.

The corridor they walked through was adorned with grand tapestries of history and lit by flickering torches, casting long shadows on the stone walls. It was a reminder of the power and history that the Sith Empire wielded. The servants, nervous and eager to please, hurried ahead, their footsteps echoing softly.
Na’la leaned in slightly as they walked. “Do you think the Emperor suspects anything?”
Cassandra kept her voice low. “It's hard to say. But we must proceed as if he does. We can't afford any mistakes.”
They reached a pair of large, ornate doors. The servants pushed them open, revealing a lavish suite decorated in dark, rich colors. The main room was spacious, with a large fireplace crackling warmly. A table was set with an assortment of delicacies, and a bottle of fine wine awaited their attention.
“Your quarters, my Lord” one of the servants said, bowing deeply again. “If you need anything, please don’t hesitate to ask.”
Cassandra looked at the servants. Watching them, inspecting them. It was normal for her to study people as such. Both had curly brown hair so perhaps they were siblings, she thought They were clean, but had obvious marks and bruises. Their clothes were very bright for mere servants. She noticed a jeweled necklace around the necks of both servants. It was the only thing that stood out, she stared at it, studied it, she found it strange for servants to have such fine jewelry. Cassandra took her hands out from her gloves and wrapped them around the necklace. Its rough texture felt metallic, its exterior painted with gold.
“These are very nice pieces, where did you get them?”
“From our mother, my Lord.
Cassandra dismissed them with a nod, watching as they scurried away. She closed the doors behind them, ensuring they were alone before turning to Na’la.
“We’ll need to be cautious,” Cassandra said, her tone serious. “Every move we make is likely being watched.”
Na’la nodded, her expression determined. “Agreed. But this mission is too important to let fear dictate our actions.”
Cassandra smiled, appreciating Na’la’s resolve. “Then let’s start by familiarizing ourselves with the surroundings. We need to know every exit, every hidden corner. And we need to understand the people we’ll be dealing with.”
Na’la moved towards the window, peering out at the sprawling city below. “The Emperor’s court is full of intrigue and deception. We’ll have to play the game better than they do.”
Cassandra joined her at the window, the weight of their mission settling over her. “We will. For now, let’s rest and prepare. Tomorrow, we begin our work.”
The night passed with uneasy rest, both of them aware that their every move could mean the difference between success and failure. As dawn broke, they dressed in their formal attire, ready to face whatever the Emperor and his court had in store for them.
Cassandra adjusted her cloak, giving Na’la a reassuring nod. “Let’s show them what the Empire is capable of.”
With that, they stepped out of their quarters, ready to navigate the treacherous waters of politics and prove their worth.
