The Mythological Creatures Research Centre’s (better known as M.C.R.C.) layout is not the largest, but it’s still pretty confusing, with so many twists and turns, like a maze, but there’s no doubt the guards get used to it soon, since they are constantly walking around their color section patrolling the place. Of course, for the first few weeks, they always follow their captains out of fear of getting lost.
The center itself was very pretty on the outside, but the inside was a totally different world. Outside, it was painted a cream color, with ivy and honeysuckle climbing up the walls. Probably trying to brighten everyone’s mood before they enter the center. There were pretty windows, made of bulletproof glass, and the white shutters were always closed.
Inside, it was made completely of the strongest steel, bulletproof glass, and concrete walls. The walls are a dreary gray, and the rooms where the creatures stay have windows barred with iron rods. Not a single room looked as cheerful as the exterior, other than the private offices, where the researchers do their work.
The offices always looked different, based on who used them and which color section they studied. For the first few colors, they were smaller, while the last few were the slightly larger ones. Honestly, no one really cared, as long as there was enough space for experiments, tests, and reports.

There were dormitories, or bunks, as the guards and captains call them. They were for those on the late-night shift from nine at night to four in the morning. Not to mention the early-morning shifts, around three thirty in the morning to nine. So altogether, the place had guards twenty-four-seven, three hundred and sixty-five.
Life here was tough, since you never really knew when a creature would break free, and good luck if you’re in charge of that creature. The reds and oranges weren’t too bad, as they wouldn’t or hardly attacked. But any other color, and it’s goodbye to you.
But it was as hard to get in as it was to escape the creatures’ grasp. To get in, you had to know martial arts and know how to use different weapons, ranging from knives to tasers to guns. Not just that; you had to know the different creatures, their names, abilities, and bands. Even if you ticked all the boxes for a guard or researcher, you still had to take an entry test to see if you were qualified for it. The test was so tough, the passing rate was an extremely low twenty percent.
If you happened to break any of the hundred rules, you would get a punishment, depending on the severity. In the worst-case scenario, you would be fired and blacklisted from every company, not that it would be something to be worried about, because the night before you were fired, you would spend one night in a green-band creature’s cage. You even got to choose which lucky creature’s cage (or room) you stayed in.
But enough with the M.C.R.C., as I’m sure you’ve gotten it by now. In case you don’t get it, let me tell you. The Mythological Creatures Research Centre is not a place you want to be in.
